Thanks for your message! The deck was originally posted when Out Of Cards was running under the Hearthstation flag. Flux took the site offline shortly before rotation and came back with a new URL so the old link didn't work anymore.
The original list contained Boommaster Flark and my favorite combo was to play him on turn 7 and follow up with Necromechanic and Void Ripper on 8 (that's 16 face damage from the bombs!). To be honest though, "Boom Hunter" just had a better ring to my ears than "Bomb Hunter".
In the end this thread and the guide to the deck are a relic from pre-rotation, when it was already doing alright but never got popular because of the even/odd decks and KofT and K&C powerhouses. I only took the time to edit the list to the one which took me to legend for the very first time last season because I wanted to conserve it without spending a deck slot. I guess there should be enough guides for Mech Hunter out there, so that part of it largely stayed as I posted it pre-rotation.
What is a mong? Is it like Mongo from Blazing Saddles? If so, good one! If not, that’s not a good one. Overall a disappointing variety of insults. Better luck next time I guess
Short for Mongoloid-relating to the broad division of humankind including the indigenous peoples of East Asia, SE Asia, and the Arctic region of North America
It's supposed to refer to the person as a lesser being of small intelligence. (Like Mongo)
Fascinating historical context! Is it British culture that uses "mong" as an insult? I'm American, and I've never heard it. Probably because I'm a mong
It's used in America quite often. You are just around polite people. Google mongoloid and go to images to see what people are referring to. It's an older insult however and not used by younger generations.
I know this one in an even meaner context than you guys. Mongolism is also a synonym for the Down's Syndrom, so by calling someone a "mongo", one a) implies the insulted person suffers from this disease and its symptoms while b) showing disrespect for said people which is even more disgusting than just insulting some unknown person over a freakin card game.
Yes I also tried vargoth version. Which is good against slower decks. But this version is better against aggressive strategies when that heal might make the difference

Ah yes. I'm familiar with the full term being used. I should have been more specific in that I haven't heard the abbreviated version "mong" before. Thanks!
Surprised there's not a lot of answers here.. ok here we go;
I do build decks- in fact it's what I like the most in the game:
-what leads me to make decks is often a random thought: "wait how would X-card work with the newly released Z-card?" ...
-since I always wanna try my combo out I often play control and try to get board instead of SMOrc-ing.
-I have lots of tools for deathrattles so that's my mechanic of choice (my latest successful experiment has been Recurring Villain + Explorer's Hat ) but I really go for whatever I wanna try.
-Bit of both.. if what I wanna try fits a list - good! Else I'll build a base and adjust through trial and error.
-I have a preference for deathrattle just cause I got the tools and experience for it but it's mostly about the card that piques my interest
- I start with little to no tech.. just taunts and life gains then adapt as needed. I love Stitched Tracker in hunter though..it's just better than Tracking -fight me!
so me and my brother recently played some mtg together and we ran into a disagreement. i had swung at him for 60 with a 20/20 kalonian hydra https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=420771 and a 40/40 primordial hydra https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=253670 . he then proceeded to play polymorphist's jest https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=433022. his thought process was that because my hydras lose all abilities. that would include 1/1 counters. my thought process was that they wouldn't lose the 1/1 counters as counters are not an ability but the hydras would lose trample as those were abilities.
my brother decided to find what he could about rulings on jest and found this passage "Polymorphist’s Jest overwrites all previous effects that set the creatures’ base power and toughness to specific values. Any power- or toughness-setting effects that start to apply after Polymorphist’s Jest resolves will overwrite this effect.". he took that to mean that the counters wouldn't affect the hydras again until the turn was over. i went to the same rules site (the one i shared) and found this passage "Effects that modify a creature’s power and/or toughness, such as the effect of Titanic Growth, will apply to the creatures no matter when they started to take effect. The same is true for any counters that change their power and/or toughness and effects that switch power and toughness.". to me, that says the counters are still there AND still active but he read it to mean that the counters wouldn't work.
is there someone that can help me find an official ruling from a tournament or maybe some mtg arena gameplay with this interaction or has a ruling from an official? we even had my brother ask his friends (some of whom have played since mtg started) and they were split on the issue.
I was not asked as well but want to put a thought here if I might :)
Having an option, I think is a good idea but there is still the question about what the default will be for first time or "surf by" visitors.
I myself prefer dark modes in general (work with them in multiple apps and systems) but some implementations are unpleasant on my eyes. That is also the case with this one here. I am not a designer and do not know why. I have another dark mode app window open that I like at the moment I'm typing this. I notice they use stronger highlighting contrasts and have some subtle gradient in the background. Also the text font is much thinner than it is with the light mode. Maybe it is not just a matter of colours and contrast.
i wouldn't flip out like the guy did but i would certainly be mad for a couple reasons. first, another token deck. token and aggro decks made me go to wild for the time being because thats all i was ever seeing. second, i wouldn't have drawn any board clears. of course this one depends on how many board clears i run. although a rule of thumb about me i've noticed is that if i don't think the game was competitive, i won't emote and if my opponent does when it was a stomp for them, i just flip off my computer screen. i still get to vent and i don't potentially lose my account.
Seeing some of the comments in this thread makes me feel so much more encouraged about adding people after a game only to say literally nothing and watch them flip out because they wanted to be flamed and didn't get their attention-quota for the day. Hehehe! Delicious :-P

1 - I'm afraid that the link you posted (with the hearthstation.com url) doesn't seem to work - for me, atl east. Maybe it does for others and I'm just unlucky? I don't know. Foruntaltey the one at the bottom of your post does, but I was almost tricked into assuming it was just not working until I noticed others giving feedback on the deck, so I wondered why I couldn't see it. :-P
2 - I wondered why this deck is called Boom Hunter when it doesn't seem to use Flark's Boom-Zooka or any Dr Boom-based card? It seems more like a standard Bomb Hunter deck? Just a little confused :-)
I know it's just a name, and probably sounds like a silly thing to worry about - but I was curious. :-P
If you want to secure the free run, you stop (for few hours, which should be no big deal for anybody. Hint: it's just a game, not a grinding activity).
The buffs will certainly help the deck, but SN1P-SN4P may not work very well, because echo doesn't preserve discounts and handbuffs, while the deathrattle messes up the resurrection pool.
The amount of face damage Necromechanic + Goblin Bomb will do will be insane. Plus, SN1P-SN4P will make it easier for you to stick a Mech on board to magnetize with.

Play until 2 losses and then stop and get a free ticket
Play until you have 12 wins or 3 losses
You have exactly the same choices as the other players. No one is punished in any way.
These choices don't have the same impact on these two groups. That's like closing one road and telling everyone they can use 'other roads'. This will, of course, impact the users who would normally use this closed road. Even though everyone has the same options: 'other roads'.
No, you are wrong. It is easy:
You want a free ticket? => stop playing at two losses
You want to try your luck? => continue to play after two losses.
Your problem is, why there you cannot start a new arena run 6-8 hours before the change. The answer is: this is a decision to help players finish their run.
You want to finish your run and have an unfinished run at once, which is not possible.
Why even bother adding those people in the first place? It's well known when you win against someone and get a friend request, 99% of the times you get flamed at.
I don't ever add anyone after a win.
I see them as badges of honour. I pissed them off enough they take the effort to flame me.

Oh man, I always add people who I suspect are going to flame me. I love the possibility of hearing some creative insults, but most of the time it's a disappointment. At times I try to cool people down too, just to see if I can. Especially since I'm not going to trade insults with someone over a trivial card game.
There was one instance where an angry player told me, in so many words, to siphon a member of extraordinary size. I responded with something like, "Funny, I was about to go do that." He said "lol" and then cooled off enough to talk rationally. We actually trade 80g quests and stuff now. I hope to be named godfather to his children someday.

Big Deathrattle Hunter.. any inputs?
So I wanted to try out some deathrattle stuff especially with the coming Necromechanic buff.

The deck has a slow start but powerful mid to late game so it struggles versus aggro as expected.. I plan to add powerful cards to it too.. so craft Sneed's Old Shredder , Sylvanas Windrunner or N'Zoth, the Corruptor ?

question on polymorphist's jest
hello,
so me and my brother recently played some mtg together and we ran into a disagreement. i had swung at him for 60 with a 20/20 kalonian hydra https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=420771 and a 40/40 primordial hydra https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=253670 . he then proceeded to play polymorphist's jest https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=433022. his thought process was that because my hydras lose all abilities. that would include 1/1 counters. my thought process was that they wouldn't lose the 1/1 counters as counters are not an ability but the hydras would lose trample as those were abilities.

Arena locking before rotation only punishes the arena players
If you want to keep playing, keep playing.
If you want to secure the free run, you stop (for few hours, which should be no big deal for anybody. Hint: it's just a game, not a grinding activity).
If you want both, you are being greedy.
