  • Ending play sessions of HS on a high note

    Quote From anchorm4n

Really cool idea, I did something similar last season. Got to rank 4 around half of the month and decided to try reaching legend for the first time. Instead of grinding for hours (and surely losing my temper and my concentration), I set myself the goal to win 2 more games than I lost every day for the rest of the month. So some days, I played only two games, later I had to play for two hours to make that progress of plus 2 wins from where I started that day. But in the end, it worked out: I reached legend and did so without tilting once and in a way shorter time than I expected.

So having made that experience and considering yours, that seems a really great way to play :) Because, in the end it's still a game and I dont want to walk away from it angry.

I'm going to steal that idea. I like the sound of playing to win two more games than you lose.

Do you manage it often? I can imagine myself logging in, losing three games in a row and then knowing I need to win five just to follow the self-imposed rule

Don't forget to save a un-finished arena run so you can get a free ticket!

  • Please Limit the Copies of Cards and the Total Deck Size in Deckbuilder

I could add a warning that would display on saving but there are no plans to put these hard limits in place. Sharing Arena and decks people have used in various Adventure modes is something we want to support so leaving it open like that allows us to do just that. Same would go for Tavern Brawls should they have weird deckbuilding rules.

Thats fine for other modes, but on ladder those hard limits exist from the get-go. This wasnt an issue on Hearthpwn since you could always check the "Arena deck" box and put in as many copies of cards as you want. I dont get why this functionality was taken away instead of brought over.

Hearthpwn works this way too. You don't have to check any box to select multiple copies and save the deck. I don't believe it's too hard to double check that  the cards are correct, but perhaps something to aid with this could be added like an option to enable those limits, a button to remove any cards over the limits, some sort of visual indicator, or a combination.

Mulchmuncher and the treant synergies are cool, but having to wait for your guys to die is so slow. I'm not convinced a measly one mana discount is going to make it work.

  • [Game] Name another card that has the same...

    Zilliax

Most played legendary from a specific set.

  • What is wrong with people?

Its ironic how he started with Authistic

    1. Goal every season is rank 5. (Which is extremely easy to reach)

    2. Quit while I'm ahead (If I win a few games just stop)

    3. Open a card pack with the gold I earned to have a sense of accomplishment if I loose too many games and then quit.

If you follow these three steps I don't think you will ever get frustrated. Rank 5 meta is the best meta anyway. Meme legend numbers are really bad. As other posters said, "it's only game why you have to be mad"

Now playing magic arena and getting shit on by Esper decks gets me mad...

  • Slyssa's Legend Murwock Shaman

    Hi there

What can I replace hagtha with?

  • Reminder: The First Ever Card Buffs Arrive This Week! Prepare for Mechs!

A card that was only ever really played in Mecha'thun priest pre RoS. Not that much of a big deal in standard. Which decks did you see it in that are now nerfed?

  • Reminder: The First Ever Card Buffs Arrive This Week! Prepare for Mechs!

Let's hope it has an impact. I fear most people will stick to what they've been already doing and not change much, since most of these cards do not slot into their usual decks but require their own build. I'll definitely try to give Senor Pogo another shot, since the potential combo with Magic Carpet covers its main weakness and Witchwood Piper can now reliably tutor the rabbit out. Considering how slammed my Jade Shudderwock Shaman got yesterday when I queued up against a Pogo Rogue with god draw, it's obvious the deck has some potential if the stars align. Maybe the alignment will be just a little bit easier now. Also would be nice for the Necromechanic to see play, since that would mean the brainless aggro Mech Hunter might be a little more rare in Wild.

So basically all classes get 2 buffs but Priest gets a nerf. So that's the worst case scenario for Priest, which is already in a bad state...

  • Combo's dead

That's true, I'm very thankful for the current state of the game. The year of the dragon really feels great so far, very diverse meta and no overlords as of now. Plus there are still a few working combo decks left (I use Jepetto Hunter from time to time), they're just not that consistent and that's fine for me, too.

  • Confess!

Yeah Hearthstone sometimes brings out a side of me that I'm not proud of:

    • When I get unlucky against a netdecking player I will often rope them if I'm dead the next turn. Meanwhile a bunch of swear words are likely to leave my mouth.
    • I'm far from a violent person IRL, but sometimes the salt piles up so much that I just have to hit my desk or a pillow (sometimes multiple times). I wasn't proud when one day I punched my desk so hard that it resulted in clearly visible cracks. Honestly I hate that it can get to me that much in general. I really envy people who can completely keep calm after they are continuously plagued by terrible rng.

I'm the same as you as in that only Hearthstone really brings out this side of me. A lot of people would probably recommend us to stop playing, but I still enjoy the fun sides of Hearthstone too much to do that. I've played League of Legends a lot (and still do occasionally) and while I can of course get salty playing it I don't get nearly as angry when I play Hearthstone, and trust me when I say the League community can be quite toxic.

Like you said, I don't think showing self-reflection and awareness of toxic behavior justifies it, but it's probably still good to face your shortcomings in order to improve yourself. :)

    Cheers

  • What is wrong with people?

Yeah, it's really sad how a lot of people behave on the internet. But then I never stop trying and get rewarded sometimes. Two days ago I took a Face Warrior to ladder (lots of rush, lots of weapons, a few buffs) and got friended by a mage I beat. Instead of insulting me, he thanked me for the game which was a welcome change from the current meta and asked for the deck list. There ARE nice people out there.

excited for this! I really hope it will be a success and something that happens at least once between new card sets.

Seriously looking forward to 5 mana Pocket Galaxy, I got that golden from the preorder back in the day, so I hope it will atleast be playable!

Also been playing a bit of heal druid and the gloop sprayer at 7 will help for sure.

  • [Game] Name another card that has the same...

Shirvallah, the Tiger (Has Divine shield rush and lifesteal)

  • Netdecking and the real problem it brings

The new buffs definitely WILL shake up the meta. They did some serious buffs to the cards they targeted. There is no way that competitive decks fail to emerge using those buffed cards. Particularly Luna's Pocket Galaxy and Pogo-Hopper

  • Confess!

    Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone else has a "hearthstone persona" or "gaming persona" that you wouldn't ever tell your Friends and Family About!

    • I exclusively t1-netdeck
    • I spam emotes as soon as i feel like winning safe, while having Opponents autosquelched
    • When someone adds me on bnet for whatever reason after a game, I pretype and copy stuff like "AHAAAHAHAHA time to uninstall loser xD", paste that and immediately unfriend before the other guy can answer
    • I sometimes rope on Purpose after my turn is clearly over, generally when I am about to lose

So as you see I am clearly a toxic Player, but only so in hearthstone. I have no reasoning or Agenda for my behavior. I am generally a chill player, easy to communicate with in mobas, WoW raiding etc.

It is neither "blowing off steam" nor making me feel superior, it's just "part of the game" for me. Maybe I encountered that behavior in opponents before and felt like it got to me, so I feel the urge to give it back. It boggles me though, as i dont feel like I am that kind of a narrow-minded Person in any other part of gaming or life in General.

What is it that makes hearthstone, and only hearthstone bring out the worst, most destructive and pathetic behavior in me? Is anyone Feeling similar?

    Cheers

P.s: I know that showing self-reflexion and awareness of toxic behavior does not justify it by any means or redeem me in any way as a Player.

  • [OOC-23] Background color

It would be really great if some lighter theme would be implemented... This is just too dark for me, I often have quite a lot of light from windows and on first sight I'm almost not even able to recognize the pharagraphs (divs), buttons in menu and others... I just see one big black background with just white text on it. So even if you won't add the light theme, it could help to at least make the dark colors little bit more contrast (I mean the buttons x background of one message x background of whole site and others) or at least you could add some light border to some of these elements, I think it would help people to navigate on the site much more easily
