  • Is Netdecking that bad?

Agreed. This isn't meant to be an insult, but some people are honestly terrible at deck building. Net decking opens up avenues for those players to actually expand what decks they might otherwise try or be able to build themselves.

I think part of the issue also might be the fact that with ALL the free CCGs out there, Artifact having a price point isn't a good decision.

Definitely a factor. It's thing if you pay and get a full collectible card game with minimal grind and lots of content. It's pretty bad when you have to pay $20 just to play and then just get slapped in the face with what's basically a f2p business model requiring you pay even more for you to actually enjoy the game fully. Basically payed up front for the privledge to pay some more...

^^^ This!  I was interested, but as soon as I heard I had to pay $20, then had no in-game currency to earn more cards... I was out!

  • The MtG:Arena Player's Club Tavern... of Doom....!

I've been playing arena for a long time now. Still F2P, but I have multiple meta decks, and I am having a blast. You should definitely give it a try. As someone who's played MtG for probably six years now, it feels really good. It gives me some practice for FNM. :)

However, the game is still relatively new, and needs some features. (Friends, anyone?)

But overall, I would highly recommend getting into it.

As for resources, I'd say just find some beginner articles on  how to play and understand the game, and then just play it yourself. The best way to learn and get better is experience. Don't craft anything until you're sure you want to play it. Wild cards are precious. (Think, dust in Hearthstone)

And that's kinda it. If they do ever come out with a friend list, add me! I'll add my tag later when I get home. I'd be down to play with anyone also with the direct challange thing too.

  • [Wild] Boss Mech Affinity

I think it was from the missing card reserved for SN1P-SN4P. Filled it and it should work now, thanks.

  • Is Netdecking that bad?

I agree. I hate the current meta tbh. I'm all about finding out new decks. Right now I want to make something that easily can eat mage's giants. With secret hunter I have a good winrate, it's "ok" with warrior too. But when I play warrior I always face mech hunters and I hate having Dyno-matic at turn 5 versus them. So many things I wanna do and try out, I rarely play anymore lol.

  • Is Netdecking that bad?

    Hi all...

I know. Its a little bit of a clickbait title isn't it? But I'm of the opinion that sharing decks with people is a good thing.

I'm not talking about those decks that become Behemoths in the field. Those Page One Monsters that everyone plays because "Day One Legend In 25 games! EZ!!". Nope. Not those.

Dig a little deeper and you find some real gems. Look for a Random card in your Collection that appears terrible (Arena Treasure Chest for instance) and search for a deck built around it. In the depths of the Internet there are many and varied ones that will appear.

This is the beauty of 'Netdecking'. Finding those crazy decks that might just work out for you because everyone else is playing those Page One Monsters.

Maybe it's just me. But that's the whole point of the Internet isn't it? To share ideas?

When I started playing MtG around '95 or so my friends and I had to rely on word of mouth and Magazine Articles for the newest and baddest decks out there. Now it's easy.

So I implore you all, just because someone says Netdeck it should not be a bad thing. On the contrary, let's embrace it.

  • Star Aligner Priest

  • The MtG:Arena Player's Club Tavern... of Doom....!

I started playing MTG 2 weeks ago. The new player progression is great honestly. Feels a lot better than the hearthstone experience for sure. I am not F2P in Hearthstone ( I was for 1 year and it was extremely limiting.) In MTG I just got the $5 bundle and finished the progression. So far I have played around 50 hours of MTG for $5 and had a lot of fun. I made a few decks with the cards provided and used the lists provided. I only played unranked and the planeswalker event which was super confusing until I played about 6 rounds.

I love hearthstone but at the moment I do enjoy playing it, even with a full collection. (i am more than likely just burned from it.)

Current goals in MTG is to craft Mono-Red-Aggro and learn to play it. By the time i am done with that deck I should have farmed enough gold/gems to craft esper control.

I think this colour scheme is fine! but some choices would still be nice tough :) :)

  • Lets talk about Artifact and why it failed (none meme addition)

    Quote From RandomGuy

For my part, I tried to watch it once and could not tell what was happening at all. It was not a viewer friendly CCG, and if you aren't attracting viewers, you aren't attracting customers.

    Exaclty this!

I tried watching some streamers/youtubers play it but i could not stand it. After that i try to read about it and play it myself but i lost interest within the first 10 minutes ...

and RNG will always be a thing with CCG ... and i have nothing against some randomness in the game - sometimes that´s what makes it fun but if it is like artifact with 3 board system etc it's just too much!

  • Do you require... assistance? :-)

Ok, sounds great - thanks for the reply :-)

  • Lets talk about Artifact and why it failed (none meme addition)

I was really interested in Artifact, from the time of its announcement through to the release. Then, when I saw the pricing model, I was hesitant enough to wait and see how the game panned out first.

I'm pretty much glad I held off in the end. Bullet dodged there...

  • The MtG:Arena Player's Club Tavern... of Doom....!

I know that both Day9 and Savjz do streams for Arena now - though I don't know how beginner-friendly they are; but I found Day9's videos on Youtube provide good entertainment and you start to pick up bits as he plays and talks... and talks... and talks... lol

In terms of beginner packs, etc - what I was told by the Arena community in general, was to complete the new player experience first before buying anything - you get a load of packs and cards and decks that way to start you off.

And after that, if you're wanting to focus on building a collection that is usable for the most time, to get packs from the latest 3 expacs (Ravnica Guild, Allegiance and War of the Spark).
Apparently the Shock lands in the Allegiance (I think it is? Please double check that) are really important. And the War of the Spark is pretty much loads of Planeswalkers, which are very powerful.

  • Standard or Wild tags

"not everyone knows what expansion certain cards come from."

Who are you even arguing with? The feature existed previously, and also on every deck site, for a reason. Stop trying to be so smart, please.

I think this colour scheme is far, far better than Hearthpwn.

Yes, this is so much better than hearthpwn. Please don't change it.

  • Gotta Say

Defenitely yes ! - so far im enjoying Rise of Shadows and the diverse meta it has given us so far.

  • Boommaster Flark's place in Mech Hunter

Well i would say Flark isn't necessary but he's still good - because he gives you 4 Bombs on board you can magnetize with. So far im still playing him in my Bomb Hunter and it`s doing well so far.

But you surely can play Bomb Hunter without him. Still a pretty decent deck to climb - at least until rank 5 :)

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

Remove this disgusting class called Warrior from the game .. Im so fuckin sick of all these removals he has, whatever you fuckin do next turn he will clear the board, and even if you manage to survive all those 100 clears guess what ... He has DR.Boom too giving rush to all mechs ... Fuck this small indie company they nerfed Rogue and left Warrior untouched

  • Images Option For Card List and Other Ramblings

    1) "Spacing is awkward on card pages. There is a lot of dead space to the right of the card." > golden card animation will go there in the future, possibly with some other things, so it might look weird now, but it is a preparation for future content.

    2) "card listing options" > yes all of these will be a thing eventually, the list is just the easiest way to present them now so they r there and we can focus on more pressing matters atm, but other options will be added.

    3) "search bar" > coming.

    4) "flip Rate This Card and Top Decks" > guess depends on the preference, i guess i wouldnt mind either way, will see what we can do about this later on mby.

Thanks for the feedback tho :)

There will be many filters to choose from eventually, just you wait! ;-)

  • Filter Options for the DECKS tab

    Heyho!

I found the filter options as well as the possibility to rank the filtered list by Creation Date, Rating and so on, which you used in the Deck-Tab on Hearthpwn quite essential. Whenever I got an off meta legendary, I used that section to get inspiration about a deck I could build around that card.

It'd be lovely to see such a feature here, since this will from now on be my go-to page for all Hearthstone related stuff!

    Thank's and best!!

  • Images Option For Card List and Other Ramblings

    • Tell us what you love about the site.

I think Chimera did a really nice job on those class guides. Thank you for Flux and friends for saving the Hearthpwn community (Thank you!).

    • Give us details on the things you hate.

Spacing is awkward on card pages. There is a lot of dead space to the right of the card. Card stats including cost, attack, and health should not be given such a prominent spot on the page and I don't like the shape of the slanted boxes (sorry) but I do wish more the corners were rounded.

    • Think you have an idea to make something better? Tell us!

I believe a front card gallery is a better fit for this website compared to a list of cards. Flux said, "Hearthstone is a game, and games are meant to be fun. We want to encourage and spread fun to help make the Hearthstone community more inviting.” While a line by line list of card statistics might be useful, I believe presenting the cards in their original raw format is better because Hearthstone compacts a lot of information and presents it with nice/beautiful artwork in a small area of space. If you want to present the statics and facts of the card then let the user make that choice by placing the cursor over it (let the info popup) or let the user click on the card for info. Let (me) the user pursue more information. It’s like too much information on a first date.

I just realized that Hearthpwn had three options "Visual," "Images," and "Listing" when looking at minions. You have "listing." Hearthpwn "Visuals" suck so forget that. And "Images" is what I am requesting.

Whatever you guys end up doing I hope you continue to pursue your "majestic playfulness" and serve the Hearthstone community.

    • Provide us with new ideas that you'd like to see us implement to make HearthStation even better.

A search bar on the front page of the website.

On individual card pages, please flip "Rate This Card" and "Top Decks."

More icons/pictures to click on for links or making selections! (like Hearthpwn)

Only on April 1st, every time I click on anything there should be Fireworks.
