Good card. Not what I was hoping for the hunter dragon. But I'll take it. More mystical Control Hunter support.
Awesome card for clearing the board in combination with other hunter cards and Zephrys the Great. The only downside it's the cost.
good card but not for hunter
This plus Unleash the Hounds results in rare Hunter board clear, but I'm afraid that Hunter control archetype doesn't have enough support.
Not a bad card.. It makes enemy minions easy to remove with meapons, Unleash the Hounds, Springpaw, ...
What Acidmaw should’ve been all those expansions ago
On paper it´s a strong card, however hunter has no ping like rogue or mage.

meh , Hunter already have a 2 card board clear combo, i posted this several times but why is this card legendary , the effect is boring , even with the new cards this is not good because discovery effects got nerfed 2/5 , good if you get the card from a random effect
Not so good... Unfortunately there are not so many cards that the hunter can combo with... Unleash the Hounds makes the combo cost 9, not the best...
I don’t know whether hunter will actually play this card but there is no doubt that Veranus is a good card. Let’s see how many ping effects hunter has access to. Spring Paw + its friend, Unleash The Hounds, Rapid Fire + Second Rapid Fire, Desert Spear, Explosive Trap, Swarm of Locust. This is a lot of cards and look at that. Highlander Hunter already runs most of these. Also Zephrys will probably give you Arcane Explosion after you play Veranus. So for 10 mana you destroy your opponent board and get a 3/2 and a 7/6. We shall see what to come but Veranus is definitly exciting.
It sure has great stats but the mana cost leaves it pretty vulnerable so it might die by the same minion it got its effect on or may trigger awkward situations like that because of the mana issue
The card is good in stat and it has a good battlecry...but i don't know how much hunter can abuse that. We have Explosive Trap and Unleash the Hounds, but i don't think this combo will create a solid control hunter.
An example of a good card in the wrong class
Not sure at all on how Hunter will include this in existing decks, or even new ones.
Of course, there are aplications like, a prep to clear with explosive trap, or a wild pyro combo, unleash the hounds
But the only consistent combination I see is with explosive trap, and even then its not that good, as it can be played around.
I will admit that I might be sleeping on this one.
Obviously combos with Hounds and Lynxes, but I wonder if hunters might actually run Wild Pyromancer to support this?
I don´t think hunters can benefit from an equality effect. It can be a clear with Unleash, but thats waaaay to optimistic (and 9 mana).

decent card which opens up good trades which hunter needs against big minions. depends on springpaw, locusts, unleash and similar cards to be useful but thats not a big deal with a bit of deck tuning. might be very strong in quest hunter and decent in midrange/zephrys
With Desert Spear it allows for two minions removal, which can heavily swing the game in your favor. In wild, it might be a niche addition to Highlander Hunter but its cost will make it hard to effectively use it to its full potential. The effect is one-sided, which means you can still use it despite having minions of your own.
Pretty sure this is the worst legendary of the set. 1/5..
