Krush's Quest

Been doing really well with this deck for a few seasons now. Only added 3 cards from Scholomance so far, but would love suggestions for other new additions.

Adorable Infestation: I love everything about this card, and it supports this deck really well.

Demon Companion: a bit of RNG never hurt anyone, and this more often than not gives you something useful.

Transfer Student: Doesn't really do anything specifically good here (depending on the board of course) but I put it in for fun.

Most of the cards in the deck support the quest and can build a board for lethal, but you can also burst for 36 if you draw King Krush with Scavenger's Ingenuity, copy him twice with Ramkahen Wildtamer, then drop all 3 with Beastmaster Leoroxx followed by your upgraded hero power. Without the handbuff, you can still do 30 with 3 Krushes and hero power. I've also won a few games by playing Leoroxx to drop a single Krush for 1 less mana, then squeeze in a hero power the same turn for that last little burst.

Knowing your opponent's game is key. Either stall and hold all your combo pieces for that OTK (which means getting smaller beasts out of your hand before you play Wildtamer), or use Wildtamer for tempo, especially if it copies a buffed Zixor, Hogsteed or Gryphon.

SUPER IMPORTANT: summoning animations take time as they tick off the quest. Playing Swarm of Locusts or Unleash the Hounds can eat up valuable turn time, especially if you complete the quest as you do so. Plan your turns in advance and when it's time to move, GO GO GO!

One last note for now: Maiev is a really neat card with some great flexibility. I most often use her to bypass a taunt for lethal, but she can also stall to allow you to build your board, or can even sleep one of your own minions to avoid an incoming AOE.

    Hm, Faceless looks pretty good here. Overwhelm could be too, as long as you combine with a Locust Swarm or something. 

    The full combo is actually 36 if you draw Krush with Scavenger's. I would not cut Tracking if you're hoping to combo ever. Best way to thin the deck AND draw pieces.

    I'm very intrigued by Professor Slate, and I did unpack him. Let me know if you go that route.

    Alright, so after some testing I have to say this just isn't a reliable way to win. Having 4 total combo pieces in your deck out of which 2 are only playable under certain circumstances is just too clunky for a deck that already has trouble keeping itself alive.

    Even running two Cult Masters I still lost against a Galakrond Priest who did nothing most of the game and only highrolled a few times. I want this to work, but it's just too slow even against control decks because everyone is packing so much pressure these days.

    I personally feel like this doesn't have nearly enough card draw to justify the endgame combo so I forceed in two Cult Masters while also cutting a bunch of other stuff.

    I wanted to know though, how does Khartut perform? It sounds kind of enticing to have some extra heal (since Zilliax is missed dearly), but it looks to be rather slow and clunky

      Khartut is great! Gives you 2 ticks on the quest, 6 heals, and stops a lot of aggression. He is slow, but usually worth it.

      Regarding your previous comment, you are totally right. Hunter as a class has NEVER had enough draw (god help us all if Rexxar could pull through his deck the way Illidan does!). But between the Diving Gryphons and Tracking, I tend to actually draw pretty fast. What I like about the deck is that assembling the combo pieces is only one way to win. In many of the longer control match-ups, you can take your time and put the combo together (thanks again to Khartut, among other things). In other matches, you have enough minion generation and rush to maintain the board.

      Thanks for trying it out anyway! What else did you add besides the second Cult Master? (EDIT: just noticed I took out mine, there was one in there originally).

        Deck ID Not Found

        This is what I'm currently doing.

         

        I eventually realized that my own idea of Zixor spam just wasn't enough and at the end of the day just as slow as yours (even if less clunky at times). I'm currently trying to make it work as a flexible Quest build but I'm also considering inserting a Professor Slate package (Slate + Rapid Fire and the already included Overwhelm, both of which have synergy with Veranus and Hunter's Mark anyways).

        At the end of the day your combo is 30 damage at full and 20 damage halfway through,, which is actually stronger than the old Leeroy, even if you have more dead cards in your deck.

        Decided not to use Khartut because the decks where it mattered the most (aggro and burn) are the ones that have easy bypass (such as Sap and Devolving Missiles)

        I'm also seriously considering just dropping Zixor for another Faceless (or just some more early game stuff) because he actively extends the deck and isn't really the win condition anyways.
