AoO - Quest Hunter ft. King Krush OTK
- Quest Hunter
- Wild
- Ranked
This is the form of Quest Hunter that I have settled on now that we've been through 2 waves of nerfs so far in AoO.
To replace the loss of Leeroy Jenkins, we have a new (arguably more powerful) OTK option to end our games.
Draw your King Krush with Scavenger's Ingenuity, and copy it twice with your Ramkahen Wildtamer for a 33 damage OTK when Beastmaster Leoroxx hits the board.
Most games you won't need the OTK for the victory, keep an eye out and try to set it up, but keeping tempo and completing the quest are priorities. Feels like a good strong off-meta deck at the moment, there are only a few matchups that feel unwinnable.

Have you already tried it? I didn't pull Zixor from a pack and still miss the quest so I wanted to ask you if it's working before I invest heavily.
More importantly, you missed [Hearthstone Card (Teron Gorefiend) Not Found] which I believe can add some big spice to the deck
I also disagree with adding veranus. it was admittedly very strong in the old list that much is known, however again with the removal of lynx, I think that has weakened the power of the card. The deck doesn't seem to want to hit turn 6 and play a 7/6 against big boards. It doesnt also seem useful in the lategame whether the quest has been completed or not. Might I recommend Snake Trap in its stead
btw to add, this deck seems to win by cheesing out games with hyena and sea giant. It doesnt seem to have as much late-game prowess as most other decks. An additional reason why I won't recommend adding Veranus and might suggest some card draw in its stead. Consider tracking or cult master
Unseal the Vault doesn't provide "late-game prowess"? Have you ever even played Quest Hunter?
Veranus is a way to push through Taunts, or to make better trades. I still see him being a powerful tool. Losing Springpaw is not going to reduce the power of this card. Even in the current standard list, you don't need a lynx to make use of Veranus.
Teron Gorefiend I have been on the fence about adding to the list, and will probably test him out at some point. In a deck that is so dependent on board control, him getting silenced would be devastating.
1)Dude. I hit legend with quest hunter and I am obliged to tell you that if they can survive your onslaught, the quest needs minions to work. You can run out of steam.
2)You really do, start counting the number of times you use lynx to trade with Veranus, you may realise something. For me in my last 5 games I played Veranus twice, once before quest, once after quest. Both times used lynx and lotus to kill off targets. Again I'm not saying Veranus isn't strong, I'm just saying we have to see how the meta turns out, he is one of the cards that can be considerably removed now that there are less 1/1 token generators. Which again, having less 1/1s IT REALLY DOES WEAKEN THE CARD.
3)Spellbreaker is being HoF. So do consider.
in exchange, I feel faceless corruptor will be weaker due to losing three lynxes generators, snip snap and 1 unleash the hounds. The decks ability to generate 1/1 tokens are not significantly less. I only see it working with mostly summons from desert spear.
Being said that this is going to be an aggro deck, I dont think spending 3 mana to shuffle a Zixor Prime and add a 3 mana 2/4 into your hand is justified. The other deathrattles dont justify it either, and if you dont have any of your 4 deathrattle minions dead the card is just a dead card. However leave it in as you will, it looks fun to try
You missed giggling inventor which is pretty solid addition now that its 6mana
Both Giggling Inventor and Replicating Menace are rotating out of Standard dude. This is for Day 1 of AoO.
Bro you are missing the point. I mean you missed it in your list of "cards that are rotating out"
You also missed replicating menace which some lists run I suppose
This looks great and has enough of the new cards to be exciting at the same time. Might end up my day 1 deck, too. Again, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing! The deck just got Zixor, Apex Predator as a strong addition. So much so, it might actually be worth it to add Nine Lives to the deck. And while we're at it and surely will miss Zilliax a lot, why not go Khartut Defender for survival? I think the synergies between those three make a good package. Then, I suck at deckbuilding and leave it to you to judge my suggestions. I'll probably try your list anyway, since I was sorely tempted for the last few weeks but didn't want to craft the quest, Halazzi AND Flark.
Took your suggestions and I like what I see. I'm really excited to try this day 1!
Yeah, I wrote off Quest Hunter as soon as Leeroy was announced to be HoF... but now after Zixor was revealed, I'm going back to the drawing board. I think Quest Hunter can work, it's just going to have a very different look.
