The answer was that nobody really knew beyond the originally stated "two weeks", but it seems to have ended on January 7. They've given us quite an unexpected extension of several days worth.
Glad to hear! With the ultimate end times nowadays, that seems to work pretty much how I mention in the intro: over the course of the past year it's all somehow become closer to 15 days of dust refunds rather than the regular 14. And so it might wrap up around 19:00 CET, but on Tuesday rather than Monday (which should allow even more people to catch the reminder in time). I know I'll definitely take any extra hours they are willing to give us. ;)
With Commons you stand a very good chance of doing so, statistically, given a certain number of packs opened in the coming weeks/months. With Rares I find it can be more down to luck (based on previous disenchants/refunds, I eventually had to recraft a copy of Irondeep Trogg and Wildpaw Gnoll once I wanted to use them again). And Standard packs currently account for all 6 last expansions, so it's a bit harder to count on those.
That's a fine point worth reiterating. I wrote "cards" for that very reason, but didn't really elaborate on the quest text potentially misleading people (maybe the devs fixed it in time through their data-only patch?). Definitely the best tip with Arcane Bolts!
I recall it happening once before with YouTube Drops, and then the packs arrived later in the week? It's certainly annoying though when these things don't work as intended, especially for their biggest event.
Not really, Blizzard tends to make a very specific distinction between 'new' and 'returning' players (and there have been random pack gifts for the latter category during the past month).
It's probably a bit awkward in that regard, since if somebody played just a little Hearthstone once upon a time and then bailed for years, they might be more compelled to begin again on a fresh account. But then if they've played other Blizzard games meanwhile (enough to make good progress elsewhere like WoW or Diablo), this route becomes too inconvenient.
In an ideal world, for certain. That would've been great to have. The added problem with these things is the fact that all necessary information isn't often easy to find early enough; sometimes it literally comes up right before. And in our little slice of reality it becomes more of a "get the word out once we can, whenever we can", if there is even somebody available to tackle it (see: no other site even bothering or realizing to post anything at all in order to let people know; far as I'm aware). Otherwise I certainly would've loved to have a clone to send on such errands. ;)
It also doesn't help when Blizzard constantly keeps us busy with other things at the same time (the whole 'tiny' expansion launch, several things breaking, one hotfix followed by another surprise balance hotfix just the day before, so on), and then it becomes a matter of unfortunate priorities. So I definitely hear you, but with the flawed human element it often comes down to what it is with the sometimes awkward timings.
Updated with added info: the requirement of watching whole 2 hours per pack makes this an incredibly tight window for anyone arriving late to the broadcast. Also the group brackets along with the lineups & decks are in.
And even more specifically, any current Known Issues official forum thread that we tend to link to in any of our "Issues & Fixes" articles, as that's where the developers track the posts the most. Sharing the bugs you find in the comments under those respective articles does also help everyone here take notice.
A lot of designers are also active on Twitter and do respond to various bug reports over there, even if it's not the designated source (so best don't expect anything, but it might be heard).
Heads up! Grim Patron and Gruntled Patron will be unbanned in a new hotfix that will roll out today. Both minions will no longer leave Corpses. This will address the unintended interaction with Corpse Explosion. More updates to come!
(This is not the final solve for this interaction, still temporary, just better to leave it this way instead of totally banned for the moment. Hoping to get a more final fix out next week that preserves both cards' functionality, without going infinite.)
A month and a half, not much else to say since the original announcement. Well, there was also a generic Netease statement following a bit later, if you want to see (tweet link).
Hey, it's good to know all the same! I assume those "end of turn" effects then exist in that grey area, as you've technically already passed the turn to your opponent while they resolve meanwhile.
We got a different one. Death Knight wasn't a class that any one of us had a chance to ever play before this expansion's launch, so just about everything would've been only pure speculation and theorycrafting. Plus that's 68 new cards and the Rune System vs "only" 10 that each other class has received.

Oh, yes. Even as Edwin might not be around, there must always be some form of strong Rogue represented.

Update (yet again) - Added the following:
Thanks for the note, added the official dev statement while at it.

It's indeed back on in all regions by now (whether everything is working as intended again remains to be seen), updated the post accordingly.

That might be another type of issue they haven't yet figured out. They were supposed to come up with alternative solutions.
I believe the deck codes should be all working correctly by now, as tested in-game by several people. Let us know if you get a chance to try!
It's pretty much what they do with Mini-Sets already. A nuisance to be sure.
Yep, unfortunately it's become a widespread known issue. As you can probably see now here.
