and the game was well opt-ed in preview and seemed like completed to me. There were just little bugs like multiple quests for a day and some glitches like blinking cards and they corrected those iirc.
and There are upcoming content for their rivals, Adventure and new cards for HS and a brand new expansion for MTG:A. It will be a wise move to release the closed beta asap to gather some players and influence before other hypes just start.
This month will be so fun to watch and play for card games, Tomorrow(speculated) LoR, 22th HS, 25th MTG:A. It is simply a card games and a twitch war between those.
easy or not, I don't like to see a deck 3 games in a row and i am seeing hunter 5 games in a row. I hate intensive popularity. Imo there should be a balance even in popularity.
Unfortunately, if your main complaint is that you find meta decks/netdecking is making your play boring because you find yourself playing against the same decks all the time, I have some bad news... optimization and the desire to win will dictate the best decks will be played the most frequently, so you are probably going to have this problem regardless.
The point is i don't desire to win and that's already what shapes my hate around netdecking.
The point you missed is, I'm not whining about netdecks just because i can't win against them, I whine because I play against them. I don't care my ranks, my wins etc.
Automated games are boring me. I don't like to know what the hunter i am playing with will play on turn 1 and turn 2 and turn 3.
Also, You are missing a vital point too like the other guys here. I didn't claim that netdecking is bad. I just said I hate it. It was a personal taste. I am not saying it is good or bad. Even my first comment under the article was not about a common netdecking discussion. It was about off-meta decks and how these off-meta decks are not off-meta anymore by sharing them in an internet site.
Like i say above to another forummer, Don't try to provoke me to draw me into a common netdecking discussion.
I'm going to post a rebuttal, and since this is an area I believe in passionately, I'm probably going to get a little heated. I apologise in advance.
In my view, people who complain about netdecking are people who either don't understand how the internet works, don't understand how communities work, or who actively want the game to be weaker than it is.
Think about what you do when you make a deck you really enjoy. You post it online, or you talk to your friends about it, or what have you. That is a natural human action, something we picked up when we stopped roaming the savannah and started squatting in mud huts - we like to share things. We get pleasure from knowing that someone else enjoyed something we made or did. And, inevitably, when someone shares something they enjoy with you, you'll want to try it for yourself. That is a borderline inevitability in any game with a strong community.
Take that to its rational conclusion. The internet allows millions of people to share decks with one another. People, as a general rule, want to win; therefore, they will tend towards the decks that win more often than the ones that don't, all else being equal. This then leads to the strongest decks becoming better known, and becoming popular. Even if pro play didn't exist, the existence of the internet will lead to netdecking. It will happen with absolute certainty.
Then factor in the person making the deck. The vast majority of decks you'll see will be made by strangers, and you have no frame of reference as to whether that person has any idea what they're talking about. So, of course, when professional play exists, players will lean towards decks made by professional players because they have credentials. Again, this encourages a trend of netdecking.
But of course, none of this explains why netdecking is actually a good thing, other than (I suppose) the community effort to find and play good decks. And yet it is - netdecking is actually healthy for the game. It encourages a higher skill cap, enables balance changes to happen, and provides easy points of reference for people discussing the game.
"Higher skill cap? What?" I hear you say. "You don't have to make your own deck, that's lowering the skill cap!" I wholly disagree. Firstly, of course, because teching a deck to your tastes and to your local meta after netdecking it is a strong skill in and of itself, and it's one most people seem to be pretty terrible at. But more importantly, because concepts like hand-reading and gamestate knowledge cannot exist without semi-transparency of what an opponent's deck is. It's simply not possible to get any kind of real hand-read on an opponent if you have no idea what their deck is. The best you can make is a vaguely educated guess. And even that educated guess wouldn't really be possible without an established net-based metagame, since you have no idea how good your opponent really is - without knowing someone's skill level, they could have decked literally anything with faulty reasoning.
Balance-change wise - having established decks allows for statistics to be gathered on card performance much more easily. If everyone is playing random garbage they put together, the metrics are nowhere near as consistent and trends are more difficult to identify. You might not think that's an issue - and admittedly I'm on record as being strongly against the change-heavy tendencies lately. But think about the most obnoxious decks that have been changed and consider that if fewer people are playing those decks they're less likely to be spotted and changed.
I could go on - at length - but I'm sure nobody's reading at this point besides you. So, closing para:
To complain about netdecking - aside from lacking a basic understanding of human nature - is a fundamentally selfish action. You want to make your own decks - you can do so. You can do so all day long, and nobody doing anything is going to stop you. What you're complaining about, really, is not being able to win with the decks you've made because other people are playing better decks they've found elsewhere. So, in essence, you're upset because other people make better decks than you do, and give them out to people in the same way you do. And while I can understand how that would be upsetting, it's probably not something I'd go around broadcasting, personally.
Thanks for that long explanation and reasoning about netdecking.
But there is a point you missed and it is a vital point;
I didn't claim that netdecking is good or bad, I just said i hate it and my reasoning was deck diversity and how it bores me to play against same decks.
There were nothing to defend because i didn't call netdecking is bad. I just said i don't like it.
I really don't understand why people who netdecks are offended. If you like ice-cream and I don't like and I tell that "I hate ice-cream" would you defend ice-cream like you defend netdecking ?
It was a personal statement, I didn't call netdecking bad. I already know the reasoning and wisdom behind netdecking and approving the wisdom but still hate netdecking because of my personal tastes.
I think you need to stop looking and learn to see.
Netdecking was not even the topic of my comment. The topic was off-meta decks and how those decks are not off-meta anymore by sharing them on the internet.
Why are you guys trying to provoke me by drawing me to a common netdecking discussion ?
If you really want to draw me that discussion i only will say this;
I have quoted the part I really do not care because succession and high skill cap is only an illusion for this game. It doesn't reward you anything. It doesn't give you any boosts besides "oh see!? I'M A PRO NOW !" feeling.
I don't play this game to boost my ego, I play this game because i enjoy it. Hitting legend once is enough to get a cardback, noone will gain anything from this game, any money, any in-game rewards etc. I don't care for wins. I care only my enjoyment and i'm saying that it bores me to play against netdecks. Don't care their succession or winrates.
And I know how internet works and don't like that either. Do I have to ? You can defend netdecking or internet however you want. You can defend anything however you want but you can't wait people to like everything you like. We are different in our personal tastes and my comment was a personal taste. What you are doing here is like discussing favorite colors of ours. "Hey man !? Why don't you like red ? Some t-shirts might be really cool in red how can't you know that and don't like that super cool collor ?"
Funny really. I am saying again; I don't care how netdecks saves times to be successful, how they are tested by huge amount of people so their success are guaranteed etc. I don't care wins in this game. I just don't want to play against same decks over and over again and since there is not a game mode which we can ban some decks to not play against, I have a right to complain about netdecks. I can understand that people plays netdecks in ranked, i can also understand that people are practicing their netdecks on normal mode to be successful in ranked but this causes that there is no current mode for me to play against different decks. Same decks over and over again.
I don't want to be able to live this; "oh it is a hunter, so his first move will be dropping that sidequest or that 1/3 minion, oh turn 2 here Phase stalker comes, oh turn 3 here comes bla bla. Same shit over and over again. I don't even play 3 games in a row with same deck. It really bores me and highlighting it again; IT IS A PERSONAL TASTE and STATEMENT !
Sorry but you can't defend something that I didn't attack. OR you can do it by doing this is a silly move. You are defending a safe zone, good luck on wasting your time to do that.
I think people over exaggerate their reactions about netdecking.. people who net deck card by card and just always play the top deck no matter what aren't gonna win as much as someone who takes a shell and then adapt it to their playstyle/local meta/global meta, they are gonna win about the same as the win rate suggests or less specially if they don't understand how the deck works..
I am not against net decking but I feel annoyed by people purpously making bad decks that people already tried and play those cause they are not meta decks.. same for people complaining about aggro while playing galakround priest or some other deck that is not meta just for the sake of being a "none netdecker elitist"
I always make my own decks at the start of the expansion it's fun and all but when it comes to crafting something I HAVE TO look at the data so I don't craft something I will regret, also if the deck I am playing is not working there's nothing bad about getting a better shell and work from there..
let's take for example dragon embiggen druid.. the deck is very good but at it's first iterations which I played as well the deck was very slow and didn't use a lot of rush minions.. now the deck is getting refined by many if you play a deck and try to refine it yourself it will take you a lot of games around 20 to get what really works or not but you can look at the data and get better feel for what is good and what isn't..
my personal hate against netdecks is not about elitism. It is my personality that I bore quickly so I don't want to play against same decks over and over again. I don't even use a deck 5 games in a row. That's a personal taste. I am not trying to be an asshole like "people who does netdecks are stupid and can't even make their own decks.". I just hate it because it bores me to play against and with same decks for 4 months. Even they change their decks in time; for example 1st person plays mech paladin first month, then he crafts another top deck face hunter in 2nd month, and another one on 3rd month, even he plays a different deck I already being matched his 2nd and 3rd decks in 1st month from different guys so nothing changes for me.
I can understand that some people don't have time to test decks, they simply netdecks a successful deck and keep going. I already didn't say anything bad to people who netdecks. I just said that I hate it. It is not elitism. It is a personal decision and taste like don't like eating same meal in every dinner.
I really don't understand why people who netdecks personalizing this. That's my opinions and don't like netdecking, don't like to play against netdecks. You might not care which deck you are playing against. I don't care what you think, so don't care what I think. It is just an opinion. ( you here is not you Doublesummon, I just talked in general.)
it sounds like an elemental or dragon since most of them need each other to trigger their effect but Swamp-dwelling makes me think it might be Bandersmosh so my first guess is it ?
First sentence hints battlecry probably;
Second should hint what the tribe might be,
The last one is - if it is a battlecry, it doesn't have "if you played an elemental last turn" or "if you are holding a dragon" synergy.
Those are my guesses but still want to say Bandersmosh :D
I hate what those community sites and netdecking make the game.
- posted on a HS community site
I've been playing a Highlander Malygos ft. Jepetto Hunter Deck, that took me from rank 7-4 this month.
Does that make me more "off-meta" than you?
Or does that mean too many people are playing Maly Hunter now, thus making your deck no longer "off-meta" enough for you?
Yeah "HS Community" means netdecks only, sure.
Where did you get that opinion? I am here for some forum games, reveal seasons, helping people + asking for help, for chatting about my favorite card game, Saving decks before expansion hits to remember, fan cards/expansions etc. Not everyone is using these sites for those netdecks. These reasons are enough to be a part of a community, I presume.
Also, I am not trying to be off-meta. If i like Highlander Mage for example, When it becomes meta, I am not stopping to play Highlander Mage. I don't stop playing any meta decks if i like the style but I always prefer to build it myself. Just don't like copy-paste.
I just exampled that hunter deck, that's all. I might have exampled another unpopular deck too. That was just "AN" example.
I was pointing out that the claims these sites made as "off-meta" becomes meta in 1-2 days. There's no meaning calling those decks off-meta + If the deck dropped to hsreplay.net it will be sooner or later meta if it has good winrates.
There are other people like me too in the HS community sites. You are always coming with this bullshit argument like "posting this in a hs community". Your opinion is not the only opinion. There are thousands of people. Everyone can enjoy different things. You netdeckers keep denying people like me in the community and then you are boasting each other how good community you are. That's a complete bullshit. You can't deny any other opinions different from yours. The community is not just for people who thinks like you. You need to learn that.
I might not have a popular opinion but it doesn't mean i don't exist in this community. Wtf is This ! I just said that I don't like what they do to the game. THAT'S ALL.
I just pointed my point of view and since it is my comment, I told about my opinions. Didn't attack anyone or harass anyone. Oh, but if your ego got harassed because you are a netdecker that's a different thing. I can't help stupidity, sorry.
I hate what those community sites and netdecking make the game.
These aren't off-meta decks. As soon as some sites or someone speak about some off-meta decks (like those), they become meta decks like those. I didn't see any other decks than those in ladder in 2 days.
Netdecking kills all the joy for sure.
I know noone will care this deck unless there are highlighted win rates or hsreplay statistics so i can share it kindly;
Do you know what is an off-meta deck ?
This is for example;
Deck ID Not Found (Btw, I don't claim that the deck is good. Just shared it for being example.)
If some decks hit on hsreplay.net with some proved statistics, these are not off-meta decks anymore. Collected statistics on that site means there are plenty of people who plays those decks so they are meta decks, not off-meta decks and that's not just statistics, That's also my personal experience, My Last 20-30 games were against these 4 decks and all of my opponents were different people.
And please, Don't say me "go play unranked then". We all know that normal mode has also those netdecks. There are not any safe place in hs, so i'm playing all of my decks in ladder rather than normal mode because normal mode has also hyper aggro decks which were built for rushing 100g cap.
I didn't submit a ticket yet since i couldn't find the time, i will submit now but it seems my collection is ok on phone and desktop but still missed in laptop.
I guess uninstall/reinstall will fix the problem for laptop aswell. I will try that first before the ticket.
Thanks for answers. :) I just wondered its a general issue or not and saw that it's not. :)
I could login the game with my laptop and all of my basic cards are missing except Mark of the Wild and some cards are also missing from my collection. That's same for phone too.
I tried it several times, first i was able to login twice but when i try to open collection, Hearthstone stopped running for twice either.
and then, it gave an error about they can't reach my collection and now it says "Your game timed out as it was requesting data from the hearthstone utility service. Please relunch Hearthstone to reconnect." and there is a code on right top corner. " HS:NT304:303:0"but when I try to relogin it gives same error again.
Does anyone have same issues ? If you won't, that means my game is broken so I will try to repair the game/open a ticket.
Edit: I've scanned the game, There was no repair required it said but still can't connect and it says same error on failed screen and now the code on top right corner changed into "HS:CT;NetCacheCardValues=1"
it seemed like my game was broken at first but i guess the problem is about my account.
Edit2: I could login with my phone and can open collection aswell. It ended up the game on my laptop was broken at the beginning but still I don't know why client can't repair the game by itself. I guess i will end up redownloading the game.
Edit3: It is completely weird. I could login with my laptop at last and I have no basic cards. The only basic card I own is Mark of the Wild. I've checked on my phone too, it is the only basic card at there either.
For me, it is not so important to see them in the ladder;
I can flnally play with dragons in every class, only that matters for me. Themes are not for ladder or something. It is just flavor and how you take it.
If you are a typical ladder climber player, you might not be so happy with what you face tho because Dragons are a tribe that has bigger threats mechanically; so it is just normal that they are tend to be a part of highlander/control/combo decks rather than aggro/tempo/midrange ones.
Well, you can still play with dragons in midrange/aggro/tempo decks but they are not as effective as other decks. I could understand the whine if there were not enough dragons but hey, Dragons are everywhere ! :)
I will repeat again, I'm happy to play with them in every class without caring ladder. Flavor + Theme are great for me at least.
and the game was well opt-ed in preview and seemed like completed to me. There were just little bugs like multiple quests for a day and some glitches like blinking cards and they corrected those iirc.

No please ! She saved me so much times with giving me Evasive Wyrm and Crowd Roaster. :)
yes you got it; it was Loose Specimen
Your go :)
yes its a beast but not that one.
Thanks @ArngrimUndting !
I might be an Amalgam at first look
But I don't have a pirate's hook
Deathstalker Rexxar should be my master
Even he wouldn't be my caster

I will repeat again, I'm happy to play with them in every class without caring ladder. Flavor + Theme are great for me at least.
