The decline of this game is directly linked with the singleton archetype and neutral legendaries like siamat that have no place in any deck and are just there for situational filler. That are just there to pad out a deck with no real purpose something normally done, but entirely overrun in singleton decks. It's the wild deckbuilding style of just putting legendaries into your deck just because you have them. No thought, no synergy, just out it in because its gold. And every expansion we get more, legendaries that just powercreep cards from the classic set and people see them as autoincludes just for that. Its lazy. All it does it make people craft legendaries that have no purpose.
Imagine gaslighting someone because they don't want to play a shitty card game anymore.
Imagine being someone that has played this game for a loooooong time, they were an active member of the community, avid deckmaker and theorycrafter, excited for expansions when they were released, and suddenly the game does not interest you anymore, and you know that it just hasn't gotten stale, the game itself isn't interesting to play at all. So you decide to leave, you choose to freely abandon all the time and money and effort spent on this game. And what do you get? Entitled pieces of shit that say your decision that you spent a lot of time making, means nothing because you used to love the game and were an avid community member, and that you'll be back. Completely invalidating your decision.
I quit after scholo, tired of trying to play control in a game that hates the style i enjoy playing and buffing aggro and releasing no cards to help deal with it.
For cards where the effect is clearly powerful, mana buffs mean more than stats. If I could play willow out on turn 4, even as a 0/1, its still going to be objectively better than as a 7/7 on 9 in a vast majority of cases.
If there weren't already better ways to cheat out demons, for far cheaper, already you would be correct. But as it is its not.
Not necessarily. Even the existing class levels give xp based on number of cards played as well as wins, and they only have to make the new system do the same and it will already encourage control more than the current 10 gold for 3 wins does. Also, since they changed nearly all daily quests to only require you to play games, and not have to win them, I doubt they are going to lock xp behind wins.
Guess we'll see, but i seriously doubt it'll be like that.
To be honest the xp system just sounds like new ladder but you're the one keeping track of your score. This wont benefit control players like me that enjoy playing slow decks itll just encourage more aggro...
You could easily compare this to paladins. Paladins if you aren't aware is a team based shooter that while unlike hearthstone in gameplay had a similar model back in the day. Before you would play matches and based on wins you would receive gold to buy skins or unlock different characters. But now they have a battle pass system in place. Where you aren't rewarded as much and instead recieve seemingly random rewards that you more often than not dont even want instead of in game currency and of course there is a paid version of the battle pass which yields far better rewards in turn.
This is what I expect from a battle pass in hearthstone in the future. They even state so by the play for xp for in game currency. You think they wont just add an xp cap like they have for win gold which dwarfs the current daily win gold cap? I dont have as much faith in Activision as you do.
Sounds like itll be grindier if I am reading it correctly instead of doing things for rewards that actually matter you're doing things for something else for rewards that actually matter....
Flavor is better than game balance that's why when you play deathwing it just bricks the game for you and your opponent and no one can play on that game board anymore because it has been destroyed.
These are the current priest decks that see play in both formats.
Now would you kindly point out where I'm supposed to spot Convincing Infiltrator (which is the card I presume you're pointing out while simultaneously trying to ridicule it) in these lists
You only delay the inevitable. Its easier for Aggro to steamroll them now, but the FelLow HuMans will still absolutely wreck control/big decks lol.
That was kind of the point of it. The problem with the rez mechanic and the FeLlOw HuMaNs right now is that it forces you to deal with the minion every time, since they have taunt, but i believe removing taunt from the card would make it severely less oppressive. And yes it is substantially worse against aggro, but it's not like priest is a class that doesn't have a billion tools to combat aggro already as it is. And like you said it still is good against large minions or in a control v control matchup
Rogue has been the "randomly shit on you with discover effects" for a long time now, and it's spreading. Because you guys played burgle rogue so much they think that it's actually good game design.....
Still runaway aggro they refuse to nerf or print cards to buff control style play and in recent expansion they have starting printing tech cards against control to make it even worse which have premium stats, still busted rez mechanic they refuse to nerf since forever and even printing more ways to continuously play the same minion that has taunt on deathrattle destroy a minion.
Your soul cost tencent
If it wanted to get shit on by random bullshit i'd just play against rogue, mage, and priest.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

What a community.

Lol they actually think making a 9 mana 7/7 into an 8 mana 5/5 is a buff
He cut out the middleman, he works directly for tencent now
Guess we'll see, but i seriously doubt it'll be like that.

"They used the word literally! I got them now!"
"Fellow humans is literally unplayable."
Spoken like someone intentionally ignoring the the card is ran in literally every priest deck that has been made since it was released....

I hate this card. I hate it more than anything ever printed. It is worse than kaelthas in my opinion, but it's okay i fixed it.
"But won't they just play obsidian statue instead?"
hahahahahahah

So basically nothing has changed.
