So why should we care that you are an alcoholic? It's your life. Waste it however you see fit.

Lets say OP is an alcoholic for the sake of your statement. Do you really think your comment is constructive? Do you think it is a positive comment that would help someone who is struggling with an addiction? I am gunna go with no.

Just because they played a game drunk does not mean they are an alcoholic. But if they are, I wouldn't jump to insulting them.

Maybe that's the point. To make him feel bad and stop doing it. It's clearly not the first time he's done it, so this is already a (bad) habit. Reasoning with him has a low chance of success because of this (probably those who actually care about his health already told him to stop getting drunk, even if he's not an alcoholic, since that's how you become one in time).

But now you made me write this, so he's not gonna refrain from drinking anymore, probably. Good way to ruin some reverse psychology. GG.

@OP: i do hope you stop getting drunk overall, no matter what reasons you have of doing it in the first place.

  • Can't wait for the game to come to Android. I hate their decision of going first with iOs :(

From what i've read it is the most rng-friendly card game out there, and that's what i'm looking for. No one plays perfectly so the rng argument is void. How would you feel to be beaten by a bad player because of rng? Definitely worse than if he played much better.

So yea, that's what i want - a game where skill actually matters most instead of the stupid luck (like in HS).

Bring Android faster! Open beta, something, anything! :D

  • Hi. Pretty easy to explain this one: signatures that are over 3 lines long can't be scrolled on mobile (to view the whole text).

I suggest that either you restrict signatures to a certain font and size (while still allowing other customizations) and make sure the number of characters doesn't go over 3 lines, or that a scrollbar is added (as non-intrusive as possible).

    Thanks

  • I don't understand why you folks keep playing this game. Most of the posts here seem to be from disappointed people that keep on doing it because of unpractical reasons (big collection, dailies, to enjoy some stupidity etc).

Why waste your time? Isn't a game supposed to be fulfilling? When are you gonna cut your losses? Isn't your time worth more?

You might say you don't have something to play while you poop. But why do you need to play anything then? Focusing on what you are doing is beneficial for your body. Not focusing is detrimental.

Moreover, you spend 15 minutes on the toilet when you could've been done in 5. Why waste 10 minutes with something completely useless (since you are clearly not enjoying the game)?

Cut your losses and be happy with something new.

  • It's not clear from the text: do you need to be overloaded for at least 5 mana the moment you play the card, or do you need to have been overloaded for 5 mana over the course of the game? If the latter, then it seems like a strong card. If not, then it's useless.

  • My issue with them is that when I try to go to the second page for a thread, an ad pops up that blocks the whole screen.

While I do understand ads, them blocking the content is not something I agree with.

    I'm on mobile.

  • HS will become a secondary game soon, being outclassed by BG. That's their intention too.

Soon after that, they will link the two in ways that force you to play both in order to have access to certain (fun or important) things.

There will certainly be a discussion about making BG an independent game, away from the HS UI and such. For now it's not feasible. But it will be.

  • Since the card thread has very low traffic anyway, it could be a good idea to just get rid of it.

Also, the above idea with the news article creating a unique forum post, which concentrates everything, is awesome in my opinion!

You'd basically have the same "base" disussion (database entry too), but displayed in a different way according to where you access/see the card (news/forum).

Another idea is to do the same but have card-related discussions be posted in the card-related forum, while keeping the general forum pages for something more... general. Like opinions about the reveal, the new expansion, etc.

My reasoning comes from the fact that it's better to see/read more posts (for a card), even if lower quality, than to have very few of them with higher quality. I usually jusy skim over the useless stuff. Some of it can also be reported/moderated if it's spam, etc.

All in all, i don't see a reason to implement more systems/branches of the same system when there are enough tools to easily handle the job already.

  • I would advise to simply wait and see. It's very easy to spew out some words that sound nice to the community to attract more players (just look at the corporate answers of the first few questions).

That doesn't mean they will do everything they promise here, especially after their income is sufficient to not give a crap if 10% of the players stop paying for cosmetics or whatever.

    We'll see.

  • Blizzard is finally realizing they were wrong with their initial direction, just like in WoW. I hope at least.

Why design so many cards and graphics (see past expansions, i.e. Wild) if the vast majority of players are playing standard and not caring about them too much?!

With this move they are reusing previous work and providing meta shakeups. Hopefully, the free space left is going to be used to actually improve the game by other means, unrelated to cards and cosmetics...

  • OP, can you please edit your post and add some punctuation? I literally got a headache after reading about a few of the cards.

  • Speaking of game modes, i think the starting health of the heroes should be higher, not necessarily the number of cards in the deck. Or maybe a combination of the two. Having 60 starting health seems better than the 30 from now; double the fatigue damage too.

I know this can completely prevent aggro decks from working, but i'm tired of seeing them each and every expansion. There will likely be a new archetype to replace it. Also, don't mention the possibility of never running out of cards or gaining infinite armor - this is what the team of morons is choosing to bring into the game. They basically gimp their own design space with powercreeps and such.

  • Does adblock work? Yes, it's on mobile too.

  • I wish someone would make a game like Empire Earth 2 or Earth 2160. Not EE3! That one sucked.

  • For me it doesn't quite work like that unfortunately. Using Dolphin browser.

  • I'm not sure this is technically possible, but can you guys make it such that, in mobile view, tapping a link of a card only shows the small popup with its description? Currently, it shows that and also navigates to the card's page.

I know that mobile tapping can't really work like mouse clicks, yet I'm curios if anything can be done about it overall.

  • @op: to trigger people like you that can't get over the fact that it's just a bunch of pixels on your monitor.

On a more serious note, if you give in to this fact and "buy more", it means they managed to trick you into spending money for something useless. Not unlike most marketing companies do nowadays.

Nevertheless, the reward system in HS is utter crap. Hopefully Blizzard will stop being a part of Activision at some point (and allow themselves to get bought by a more quality-oriented group). Until then... use your brains and stop paying for useless stuff.

  • The point of every expansion is to get people excited. That's why they have a marketing department.

Personally no, i'm not even a bit excited because I can see beyond the veil. Same things over and over again, with a different forced meta to "keep the game fresh". Meanwhile, the interface still sucks, there will probably be some stupid powercreep no one thought about (or did...), the best decks are already guessed, etc.

We'll see how much excitement there is after 1 month or so. If some people enjoy that, sure. To each their own. I'd rather play something that has true replayability.

In reply to I'm excited! Are you?
  • @mods: the main page is again showing just one card in the picture for this reveal, when in fact there are three.

    Please fix :)
