  • Well, its certainly good.

The only problem here would be the battlecry. It'll only ever be good if enough deathrattles died this game, which means you can't just slot this into every priest deck and hope for the best, you'd need to invest in a gameplan, whether its Lightshower Elementals or Leper Gnomes. This makes the card more reliant on deck building and card draw rng more so than the other heros seen so far.

Will be interested to see what will come out of this card.

  • The premise for this card is surely to replicate the success seen by Phase Stalker, but without the ability to hit face, its unlikely to find a home into most hunter decks unless hunter gets a really aggressive secret somewhere down the line.

Its fine on its own, but I think Dun Baldar Bunker is a better card, and there's only so many secrets you can put into your deck.

  • Probably not that great unless there's at least 2 more unrevealed cards that feature freeze and can freeze face. Fact is that if Glacial Shard and Frost Shock is in standard then this card may be core. But as it stands, its kinda bad. Freeze effects are by default a stall option, and being able to deal additional damage may not always be what you want.

Pretty sure there's at least one more spell that freezes from shaman, and chances are you can target face with it. If so, then this card is still salvageable. But until then its likely just a no.

  • Its scary if you have a bunch of freeze minions on board like the tokens from Bearon Gla'shear, but otherwise its a fairly dead card in hand. All this leads me to believe that there is at least one more frost spell that freezes left unrevealed, and its likely that that card might be able to target face. Without such a card, this one is just all bark and no teeth.

Curious to know if you repeatedly hit a target with a freeze spell (like perhaps double Frost Shock to the face) will this deal damage for each, or will the damage only register once per frozen target.

  • Nearly forgot that this card actually existed. Which is amazing considering that its likely one of the best 2 tempo 2 drop available, with only small downsides based on rng.

Kinda shows how far we've gone from regular curvestone.

  • On the standpoint of power, this is near the pinaccle

But in terms of practical use in standard/wild. Probably not that great. Or rather to say that its good, but don't expect this to be a meta breaker.

Still, its 4 mana Mind Control. Do we need subtitles here? Against certain decks, this card can single handedly win you the game. Not to mention getting this back from Raise Dead, which should be illegal all things considered.

  • I swear Ive seen this in like a few community creations already.

But the card is obviously good. Its effectively a 4 mana Mind Control, and Raise Dead being so handy you'll be seeing this minion very often assuming that priest makes a comeback.

It does has its problems. For one thing, while priest has plenty of silence effects, very few of it actually allow you to silence your own minion, and there's nearly little reason to ever believe this card will survive till next turn. Also, let's not forget that standard is unlike arena where big minions tend to be everything. And even if you pull it off, its still 2 cards, which means its either inconsistent, or you're somehow building your deck filled cards like Youthful Brewmaster or Focused Will, which isn't exactly a card priest typically plays in their deck.

Still, mind controlling a minion for 4 mana shouldn't be dismissed. If you dont have a combo, just grab a rush minion and pretend its a better Shadow Madness

  • There's no official explanation about this. But from my experience, and from discussions the gist is that each pack slot has a chance to roll a merc, coin, or portrait. One slot will have higher chance to roll mercs more often.

If you have all the mercs of a given rarity, it'll roll either a portrait or coins. So had you not crafted geddon, chances are good you'll have gotten it from this pack :P

  • Its another one of those cards thats specifically designed for fun, which means any rating or review is fairly pointless. I will say though, that if Deck of Lunacy can be one of the scariest card in its lifetime, then this can as well.

But that's the issue isn't it. If it does get viable, it'll be immediately nerfed, because team5 understands that cards like these tend to divide opinion when it gets good. So the question would be: just why? Its not like rogue has crystalized in terms of variety, so where's that deathrattle support which Ive been clamoring for since the last expansion?

  • Well, there's not really much of a card here to review, because its likely only ever played for memes.

I wonder whether this will yet again repeat the same problems Deck of Lunacy brought up next year when the cards are yet again thinned down after the set rotation. The key here is that the minions are from other classes, which means neutrals dont count, which also means the range of possibility is fairly small the higher up the mana you get.

Its weird how only rogue, mage and perhaps warlock, always seem to get these 'meme' cards as legendaries, when there are archetypes that currently require help. We had maestra the last time, and now this. Because a case can be made to print legendary support for deathrattle, shuffle, or maybe even pirate rogue but instead that one slot is taken over by a card which is specifically designed not to be competitive. I get that cards like these are meant solely for fun, but enjoyment can be gained from executing a niche, but competitively viable, gameplan as well.

I'm weirdly really looking forward to seeing how Cariel will react to Tamsin being Ressed as a lich by Lady Prestor.

Is this a confirmed thing, that tamsin was raised back as a lich by lady prestor? We know shes a lich now, but not who raised her

  • Its probably not good in ranked. 3 attack is fine, but past turn 6 most things can survive it and priest isn't really lacking in clear options right now. Even something like Hysteria will easily do better than this card, and if board swings are needed then Xyrella is a more consistent option.

The one niche it has is its interaction with Apotheosis, but samuro can do the same and likely be more consistent at it too, because the combo with this card requires 9 mana or somehow a contrivance to survive past the turn you played it.

Unless we suddenly get an undead tag on this thing, I don't see what this can offer better cards cannot.

  • It really depends on the meta, and what shaman's win condition is. The main thing about this card is flexibility, not necessarily as a win condition itself. I see it as an inclusion merely because one to one, there really isn't anything else in shaman that can do as much as this can. If you're near your win con, just heal for 6 and fireball face. Otherwise, heal for 6 and develop two taunts. With the 5 additional armor, that's 11 health gain on 8. Not many decks can still gun you down the turn after that.

It'll never really be a win con itself. But unless you're specifically playing doomhammer shaman, what other shaman deck wins before or on turn 8 anyway? Even quest shaman isnt nearly as consistent after the nerf, and you easily remove Al'Akir the Windlord from elemental shaman for this anyday.

  • Statline isn't good for a 6 drop, but 7 health is still significant. But the main problem to this card is whether priest even needs this as a board clear option when there are clear alternatives like Xyrella, Hysteria, Condemn (Rank 1) to name a few.

You can buff this to make up your very own Anomalus that only blows up your opponent's side, but that'll require two cards and still require this to die, one of the main points of buffing being to keep minions alive. Meanwhile, your opponent will either find ways to play around this or they'll just blow this up at their convenience.

One small interesting interaction this has is to reno yourself with Apotheosis. But I think you'd rather just use samuro for that.

...This tracks while it's still in your deck right?

    ...

    ...

...In the dungeon I go deeper...

Yes it does. Unless the description reads 'while in your hand' its going to track even if you discover this card out of thin air

  • Its a giant that can be reduced to 0 fairly quickly with stuff like Expendable Performers.

Not quite Corridor Creeper, but very close to it, and in my opinion just about as broken. We'll have to see how consistent this can be dropped down, because its not altogether impossible to have this by turn 5, or completely reduced to 0 after a skull draw.

  • Just insane with Expendable Performers. Looks like team5 is pushing token dhunter quite hard this time round. Let's hope for a few early game token generation to really take advantage of all the cards we've seen so far.

Looking at what we have right now, its not altogether impossible to have this reduced to 5 by turn 5 in a standard deathrattle dhunter, with the Razorboar into Razorfen Beastmaster, into Renowned Performer, along with even a mere Devouring Ectoplasm added in the mix.

Might also somewhat work well with Warden of Chains, if you time your minions right.

  • The only downside is that you dont get to choose your hp each turn. Otherwise its nearly faultless. At least whatever you get will always be value for 2 mana.

WIll be in every shaman deck until rotation, because this can clear, heal and crucially, hit face for 6.

Imagine this with Brilliant Macaw. Yikes.

  • Its certainly flexible and strong enough to basically exist in all shaman decks, courtesy of its ability to clear, heal or fireball face on play.

I just cant see much downside to just having this in the deck. The only existing problem is the same with Dr Boom, where you have no control over your hero power each turn, but unlike Dr Boom with its myriad of a thousand rushing mechs, if your whiff on your hp on a crucial turn you might just be screwed because shaman's clears and heals are fairly finite.

Still, this is one card that requires no setup or combo to be good, so there needs be a very good reason for not having this in your deck. Also its incredibly busted with Brilliant Macaw the following turn, assuming it works as I think it would.

Very sick artwork too Id have to say. That pretty much rounds up the near perfect card.

  • I admire the design, but unfortunately its likely not going to see much play because Heavy Plate is just better in most cases, if not at least more flexible than this card. This one needs to stop at least 10 damage or you're basically paying 1 more mana for an Iron Hide.

But if theres more cards that combo with armor, this might just take precedence over heavy plate since its ultimately 1 less mana and that can count for a lot. At least if it does nothing youre still up by 5 armor so theres that.
