  • At very least they tried something of the sorts to change it up a little so we actually get to see the lower tier classes. That 10 classes ban 6 was actually interesting to some degree as it showcased just exactly why the poorer classes aren't actually seeing any play in tournaments.

Viper actually brought the craziest list to playoffs, and unsurprisingly couldn't make it. More of less why we don't see much of anything out of the ordinary

  • I think the art team made a mistake by not plastering a nasty snarl with demon-like teeth on her face. I mean, shes a demon hunter, isnt she?

  • Quite sure she didn't even knew she had a sister. Or in fact that she was a druid all along.

  • For anyone wondering about the price of the bundle and skin, its apparently a merciful 20 bucks. So for 20 AoO packs, you get a bonus skin and card back.

Not too bad. Personally, I'd buy the bundle for the packs alone.

  • So there's a new dhunter around. Wonder what's shes going to be angry about all the time now.

Maybe her backstory would be how Elise keeps getting the nice glasses while all she gets are handmedowns.

Gotta feel that vengeance in her veins.

  • Make a hearthstone pancake cardback. Just imagine the many legendary cards you could have had every time you flip that pancake.

  • The 11 games lasted around 2-3 hours. For those interested in the score, there's the spoiler.

    Show Spoiler

For those who did not catch it. The score was 8-3 in favor of druid.

Glowfly Swarm + Soul of the Forest = concede. Especially considering that druid regularly gets around 2-4 mana ramp over questlock.

  • Theres some rumblings around saying that it will arrive around 10th June. Either way, its confirmed that its not going to be a paid adventure, so I don't think its going to shake the meta in any way.

  • Whomsoever gets his Megafin out first is declared the winner

  • Brings back memories about the first time I got this myself. It was one of those priest vs token druid games. First time round he beat me with Potion of Madness, I conceded and moved on. Then for some reason the very next game was against the same dude. I played around potion of madness hard and he eventually lost. He sent me a friend request, told me where to go, then unfriended almost as fast.

Must take a very specific kind of human being to send a friend request just to scream vulgarities. After a while it just got funny to be honest.

But hey, there are genuinely players out there that actually recognize a competitive game for what it is and pat the other side on the back with a healthy gg. And it is for these guys that I just can't refuse friend requests, even if I get flamed more often than not.

  • I agree that hsreplay is not really very reassuring without premium on, since its only in premium that you can see a variety of stats and legend stats (which is obviously more valuable). But its still the best for me since I prefer a general view of the meta.

I believe Viper has once on stream talked about this subject. His opinions is that VS is very biased towards certain decks and he finds them not as representative as hsreplay.

All in all, if you play hearthstone, you should have a general feel of the game enough to not trust stats at face value. An extreme example would be Hand of Gul'dan where the drawn win rate is very high but the played win rate is very low in zoo. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

Stats isn't everything. Some cards are deceptively important, like Beaming Sidekick in a tempo dhunter list, or Faerie Dragon against mages, rogues, etc. You can't play hearthstone solely based on stats.

  • When the new ranking system came out it awarded bonus stars based on your MMR or highest rank achievement, whichever higher.

So if you've finished gold 7 but your MMR is apparently higher, then you are given 6 stars. Now you've finished platinum 9, you are given 6 stars, the max number of stars you would get anyway. If you do better this month, then you can look forward to 7 stars etc.

The MMR system is not revealed, so there's no way to learning how to lower it (raising it is obvious, just going up ranks). What we know is if you miss out a few months, you still get some bonus stars. How much is not known.

  • I think malygos quest warlock was only a thing literally a week ago. Even malygos druid, a viable alternative to spell druid, made it to several lists a weeks ago as well, and who'd ever knew that rogue looked so shaky throughout this week's run. Let's not forget shaxy's priest, which although I thought was absolute garbage, can actually hold its own against questlock and druid, which was probably why he brought that lineup in the first place.

Though we are more or less assured that dhunters and warrior will be there, with a warrior ban 90% of the time, I wouldn't go so far as to say that every week's identical without any change.

  • I genuinely didn't know that frostee was tied...at tiebreakers...with dawn. He should be counting his lucky stars; so many things happened on that game with tyler.

I really hope blizzard just review this tiebreaker stuff so its doesnt feel like someone was sent down because they happen to get a lucky win off a high scoring opponent. Especially since those who are already safe might just happen to bring what seemed to be a subpar lineup.

  • Europe division B was pretty exciting, going on to tie breakers to eventually doom Pavel to joining Kolento with automatic relegation. Kinda harsh really, considering that they were virtually tied on points upwards to the very end.

  • Both are not really integral to winning matches with the decks you listed. But that's not to say they can't give you a leg up or two.

If I had to choose between them, I'd go Kayn Sunfury. So long as tempo dhunter exist in the meta, this will always be in it and will at some point be pivotal in some games.

Zixor is really good, but its usefulness is sometimes confined to drawing its prime version, so that's another layer of RNG there.

  • You can try the tavern brawl this week. Priest games (cloneball) tend to last only about 5-6 turns fairly reliably. And as was suggested by others, you can always just concede when you feel you've been dealt a poor hand.

Since its a tavern brawl, you might get earlier concedes from others, since there's no stakes involved.

  • Its just another one of those poorly thought out tavern brawls, that squeezes a bunch of random and funny stuff into one hot mess. I don't mind the rng, which in most cases at its worst is at least funny, but some matchups is so one sided it boggles the mind.

Valeera vs Guldan is particularly bad. One plays random minions, the other removes it with a spell, gains a minion and swings tempo directly back. Who the hell even thinks this is remotely fair?

  • Are we literally price tagging a virus pandemic here?

I thought the sensible choice would be to do whatever is possible to stop the virus from spreading. I don't see how half the workforce sneezing and wheezing with massive migraines would be able to do anything for the economy anyway.

Also, if the concern is about the poor SMEs and the all the rich taking a hike away in their rich summer home playing golf, and raking in the cash in the form of tax breaks, then maybe its time to get up, and start telling the government to do their job by taxing the few Jeff Bezos out there and giving subsidies to the suffering majority.

Hey, isn't there an election coming this Nov?

For example, the meta around diamond currently doesnt feature lots of dhunters, so I removed Explosive Trap for Freezing Trap and Snake Trap.

Since there's lots of highlander hunters and other dragon hunters, I replace the boar tech with Scalerider. I might change this to 1x Burrowing Scorpid, as rng keeps screwing me.

Freezing Trap is definitely great, but I'm not sold on Snake Trap. Pack Tactics sounds like a better option to me, because most minions have special abilities (evasive, poisonous, hero power synergy...). Have you tested it?

Played mine with Snake Trap even when dhunters were everywhere.

I switched to Pack Tactics for a while but found that dealing 3 damage is really not such a big deal for most classes. Unless you're rocking deathrattle, its really not worth it. And against other aggro classes, three 1/1 snakes can be really annoying to deal with and allows better trades from your side. I would go so far as to say that in some matchups, it literally decides games.
