Darkmoon Nerfs, but honestly, I wish we did this.

"Reactions" is something I do want to eventually get on the site, but I want to do a slightly different spin on it. TBA

I think the downvote mechanism is an important one to have. I don't like it being used for disagreements but rather as a tool to let others know someone has posted something that is misinformed or straight up trolling.

The side effect here is, of course, that some people use it just to be dicks. If we catch people doing mass downvoting, we remove votes and have no problems banning accounts (we've done that in the past on a few occasions). If you think you've been targeted somewhere specifically, I'm always happy to look into it if you can link me (via PM) to the places your content is that was downvoted.

We don't have any automated systems yet for it since it isn't problematic yet, but the goal is to one day have a system in place to detect people being assholes and to remove their voting privileges, temporarily removing their votes, and flagging the account for review. We need to get a proper "trust" system in place though first before we can go far with that (a downvote from someone who has a more positive role on the site isn't likely to be abusing downvotes).

Yeah, I really don't understand why they feel the need to do this on Twitter.

The only thing I can think of is that it would take too long for them to localize the developer notes in all the different languages they have to write patch notes in which makes it a pain in the ass. This is one of the reasons Blizzard doesn't use their blog as often as they should (I know there's a source online for this somewhere), because they want to put the messaging out on all their platforms.

If a developer opts to post on Twitter or Reddit though, it becomes less of an "official communication" so there isn't a requirement it gets translated.

I still think that's on the lazy side though. If they don't have the people on their localized teams to do the translations they want, they should hire the right people and make more use of their blog to communicate developer insights to make those positions more worth having.

Or you know, just stop requiring that everything be translated since some community site that speaks those other languages will just translate anyway.

Yet Celestalon says the "unsupported" devices doesn't mean "unplayable".

This really proves that wrong. Hearthstone's mobile version needs so much love.

Your device has 2GB of RAM so it meets the minimum requirements to play.

It's only devices that have less than that which will be an issu.

Web algorithms suck. We've got extra viewership thanks to Google news because of this headline. I am 100% certain it would not be the case if we made it generic - trust me, I experiment with this stuff.

December is the best month for ad revenue and I'd like to keep the site alive as much as possible. I'm sorry that some people were spoiled.

Those are our two spotlight slots that appear on all pages regardless of the type of content you're on. They are there to help promote important stuff.

The blank space is an ad slot that is empty due to you having premium. It is a known issue that needs to be handled!

I put Luna in brackets so the community better understands the connection.

She stated in her original post that her name would remain bloodyface "for now". Not sure if that means that we'll see Luna use her real-life name in the future or a new tag, but I did want to make sure we had our bases covered on the most important event in the year - there's a very good chance she wins (and earns me some sweet packs).

We've been in contact with our vid provider and they've adjusted the player so that it now properly has the close button. You'll notice it is now on the left side of the screen as well on mobile to the button should be touchable now.

Thanks for the continued feedback everyone!

i just made a six month payment through paypal

how do you link this payment with my Outofcard account?

    Thanks for the support!

The PayPal payments are all manually verified. Got you hooked up and a PM was sent (though you've probably seen that by now).

    Hey all,

We've been working on making the video experience better and a deployment has gone out with some tweaks. Unfortunately, there is also a misconfiguration on the provider's end that is cached so right now there is an obnoxious bar at the bottom of the screen. This is not supposed to look like this!

Thanks for the continued feedback, it is greatly appreciated and I promise you that we'll get this experience right. All the various devices and browsers make it absolutely fun to deal with.

    Hey Grumpy!

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to do smaller one-time support payments on the site. Taking them month-by-month over Paypal directly would eat into the payments with the fees. Patreon lets us avoid this somewhat since they charge much smaller fees overall.

With that said, you can become a Patron and then cancel the recurring billing on it once your Premium rewards arrive on the site as they'll be valid for 30 days. Just make sure you hookup your Out of Cards account to Patreon before doing so to make sure it goes through. That is accessible in account management under social connections.

We might have a better way to accommodate this next year when we do a refresh of the Premium program. I haven't worked out all the details on that specifically though.

    Thanks for all the support!

For record's sake, this was up and available during the majority of reveal season. Every news article linked to this under the Tavern Crawl banner. We just made a final push of its existence to make sure people finished up anything they were missing.

We also did this for Scholomance!

    Nope!

Blizzard will always remain at fault for refusing to document how the reward pass worked and not talking about how much XP we could expect from events. They failed to paint the full picture, it was like one of those botched Spanish restorations, and because of that, the community went wild.

They knew it was going to be datamined with everything being client-side. They would be fools to think otherwise after having the game datamined for the past 7 years.

I just wish places would have better controlled and directed the outrage. A lot of it was just senseless bashing without any constructive discussion. Even some pillars of the community failed to do the right thing and approach it from a constructive POV, furthering the outrage. I get it though, outrage gets clicks. Outrage makes you important.

I'm more disappointed in the community for acting the way they did (reddit mainly). It will always take time for a large company to go through the processes to make an announcement, and that's after they figure out what to do. The silence definitely sucked, even a "we're still working out the details" would have been nice, but we knew they weren't going to let this be the failure of the game.

I'd still really like to see a bonus chunk of XP for completing your weekly brawl as a further incentive for people to dive into the mode for a couple of games a week, but this is 100% a step in the right direction. Reward consistency is so key to making it feel like a good experience and they've hit the nail on the head by not only reducing XP required but also by putting more gains into the system.
