We're in the business of news, we're never going to skip covering anything unless we're bound by a legal agreement. Very hard to say no when this is likely going to be the biggest article we've ever posted on the site and it is stuff like this that'll help us stay on the map.
Google Heathstone Demon Hunter and Ashes of Outland. We're there.
I find it very difficult to not be critical of people that are given early access to content and then butcher the delivery this bad. When it is your job to protect content and it is of this severity, you better do it correctly.
The saddest part about this is they aren't even going to be penalized. Blizzard will pretend to be upset about it, perhaps make a comment on it on tomorrow's stream, and then give them more content for the next expansion. Meanwhile, if Out of Cards had early access to info and we hit the publish button a day early, we'd be forever blacklisted from Blizzard since we aren't critical to their non-Hearthstone outreach. If we are going to be held to a higher standard than others, then I'm going to hold people as equal. If we made a mistake like that, I'd call us idiots as well. Even Out of Cards has steps to prevent embargoed information from going live or being seen by members of the team that should not be privy to those releases.
This isn't something we could realistically hide. It would hurt how the article gets consumed not only on here but also on how it would get picked up organically on the internet. I know this isn't ideal for everyone, but we're sorta known for acting on spoilers and we're in the business of growing the site. I'm sorry that it wasn't your cup of tea.
Also, I don't think this is anything like your Dumbledore comparison. It sucks, but this doesn't spoil a long story.
Also worth mentioning, if they did have a few people together to do the stream, that's a large degree less worrisome than if the whole building is full of people. It is all about being smart and limiting exposure as much as possible.
As Shadows says though, its definitely possible they could all be remote. We do have the technology :D
I wish more people would realize their phones are dirty. Doesn't matter how much you wash your hands if you use your dirty hands on your phone at any point during the day =(
I do love digital though in this case. No chance of plaguing collections :D
Hearthstone's first year only had 2 set releases, Naxx and Goblins vs Gnomes, so that is the exception to the three a year rule. Though this year we're getting at least 4 expansions if you go by calendar year since Galakrond's Awakening was its own card set. I do wonder if we'll get a set then a mini-set all year. That would be awesome.
Not a big deal though in the grand scheme of things. No one is going to lose their life because they didn't see a reveal the second it was "supposed" to happen :D
For real. Time has gone by so fast since Out of Cards became a public thing, it honestly feels like half the time. I'm still not sure what happened to winter since that appears to be over at this point yet it feels like first snowfall and even Christmas were just a few weeks ago.
Jinx still remains my favourite LoL song, though K/DA POP/STARS is damn close.
I agree that they really captured the essence of Jinx well in Legends of Runeterra. Her board they added in the most recent patch really took it overboard though and I love every moment of it.
Whoops! Sorry about that. The blog post announcement swapped Modern and Legacy in ordering from the first section to second. Still though, more care should have been taken >.>

We weren't at the summit, they were. Anyone at the summit won't be talking about it until tomorrow.

Honestly, blame Polygon.

Expansion symbol =)
Polygon isn't going to post fakes. They were at the press event last month. They goofed on the publish date.
The cutoff point has to be somewhere! There are at least a dozen objectively cute cards from the past year lol
Derpcorn doesn't discriminate. Delicious is delcious!
Hahaha! Truly a favourite past time of all

Definitely Phoenix and the new expansion. Not entirely sure they'll have time for dedicated gameplay though...

Don't give them ideas! :D

Time flies when you're having fun.
I'm concerned. Why are there Classic cardbacks floating around?
Talk about an oversight. That's been resolved, thanks.
