Added card gallery to Card Design Competitions that have ended.
They display on the main page for that competition.
Timers no longer display after a competition is over.
A winner must be selected before the gallery will display, so don't expect it to happen right when the finalist voting concludes!
Card Design Competitions now have a voting progress bar.
This displays on both voting and "my votes" pages.
It not only displays your progression visually, but also tells you how many submissions there are in total.
Added a new bbcode for cardbacks.
We're not displaying this in the editor because it isn't something that will be commonly used. It was mainly added for staff to use in news articles and guides.

Status Update
Just putting out a small status update since I'm not certain when a monthly letter talking about the site is going to go live.
A desktop client is being worked on. Expecting to launch alongside Hearthstone collections before the next expansion in April. Details will come out when I have more to share, so please be patient =).
I realize this is a bit of an old comment but I'll respond anyway since we've got this linked in the nav.
The positive aspect of this is that when people see the competition, they can immediately enter. We want to help them be accessible to more people so by allowing entries as soon as people see there is a new competition instead of forcing them to wait a day or more, it has the possibility to promote more submissions.
The cards that are too similar is an interesting "thing" to bring up though. Even in the old competitions, we could never really stop it, though people understood who came first and typically didn't upvote newer, similar creations. Penalizing creativity though can also be seen as a downfall. If two cards are similar but not exactly the same, one that came later could be better balanced and is more worthy of a win. It'll be one of those things we'll have to consider when making changes to the system.
Some ninja updates went out earlier today for competitions based on prior feedback.
Added gallery to the competition "main" page once the competition has ended and a winner has been chosen. The gallery shows all the non-disqualified submissions.
Added progress bars to the Voting and "My Votes" pages so you know how many submissions you have voted on so far.
For the price of some of them, it definitely doesn't feel very worth it which is what makes the daily deals so nice.
Though, I do enjoy the simplicity of the card styles at the base level. There's some really cool other styles though on top of the basic ones for some cards which makes them really awesome.

Yeah, its a really interesting idea from Blizzard.
For players that don't buy big bundles every expansion, buying a themed booster can really help them out with deckbuilding for the chosen class which is a huge positive. Even someone that does buy bundles, if you're missing a chunk of one classes cards, it would be beneficial to buy them through a targeted booster.
This is definitely a "test the waters" type of thing, much like the original shop heroes. Those heroes didn't go over too well on the comment side of things (I don't know metrics on how many people really own the heroes) which is why I assume they didn't keep bringing them out. If they printed money we would have seen more of them.
I really want to see more themed stuff though. The Year of the Dragon pack was a really cool idea and needs to continue. I'd love to see some value-oriented Wild boosters too. Give us a Wild booster for a certain era and give it to us for cheap.
I hope we'll get more info on their plans for more packs like this when the big announcement hits. I can't see the Year of the Dragon and Mage pack being the only ones. Anything that improves accessibility is A+
Unfortunately, it still wouldn't make sense for this limited of data to appear ahead of schedule.
When a pre-order goes up, they have to patch the client. The client needs assets for the new set artwork, a music clip, and the packs themselves so they can actually make them show up. None of that is currently available which means it isn't just them flipping a switch. The few times they don't need to patch the client for a new product is when the product fully exists in the client. A good example of this would be a deal on a bunch of Hearthstone packs. Initially, they can sell that directly via Battle.net and the card packs would get added to your account "from outside the game" and then when they are ready to patch, they do so and it then can also appear in the in-game shop.
I think this was purely a mistake on their end to include her text data. That's the only part of her that we have. They'd have to also patch the client to make her image appear, her audio, and all the other little bits of data cards use to be cards.
Overall I think they have a bit of a crappy system for dealing with all that. It could definitely be made more efficient but I guess it isn't really that big of a deal.
My suspicion is we'll hear something whenever the new year announcement comes out.
Or, maybe some really messed up and she isn't due for a long time. I just wish there were some WoW NPCs with the name Celeste and were Mages so we could at least try and figure out any connection to the new year or expansion - if it even exists.
100% certain it has nothing related to Khadgar. For them to release Khadgar in the store, it doesn't really require much effort on their part and certainly doesn't require new card data!
Celeste remains in the client with no new data in today's patch so we're still not certain what is up with her. It was one of the first things I looked into after we got up the initial articles
Phone updates always come out later than the desktop ones. You'll probably have to wait a few hours at least before Apple and Google validate and get the update through.
I try!
We got a bit lucky this morning since I didn't get much sleep last night so I was able to use this gift to put together a small update :D

It isn't active 100% of the time =(
Without a doubt she'll get buffed. Surprised it wasn't confirmed in the blue post tbh

At the moment this is not possible but it is planned. Thanks!
Yeah, that's the big issue. There isn't much reason to read that block of text in the shop if the blog conveyed seemingly accurate information.
If anyone wants a refund, I can't imagine it would be hard to argue it. They definitely can refund Hearthstone stuff.
Update: This is a Tier 4 minion according to this video. (See 6:50)

I don't think I could handle that much greatness!
I agree though, daily login rewards would be incredibly awesome.
