Dave is seriously the best. I'd love to spend a bunch of time to write an entire article about how amazing he has been in all the Hearthstone videos he takes part in. Would be time well spent.
Hey all. Somewhat large site update went out today.
Guides are referenced below but aren't fully available quite yet - we've got a lot of work ahead of us!
New Features
General
You can now quickly send a direct message to another member via their site profile page or on any of their comments / forum posts - Look for the envelope/message icon!
Hearthstone
Class Portals!
We now have dedicated pages for all classes.
You can find the latest decks, news, forum threads, guides, and more for each individual class. Here's the Demon Hunter Portal.
These are linked under the Guides section of the navigation. This will go live on Tuesday later in the day.
Demon Hunters
Pushed out assets for the new class. Several placeholders for now.
Pushed out some early assets for the expansion. Waiting on Blizzard to reveal official art.
Changes
General
Added the profile header rewards that were missing from Pi Day 2020.
Hearthstone
Patch pages will now display collectible cards added in each patch alongside their flavor text. Do note that many of our patches don't have the cards correctly associated with them, so these may not be immediately available. Thanks!
Runeterra
Card lists on deck pages now showcase the region each card belongs to, like the deckbuilder.
[145] Deckbuilder now displays a breakdown of the card counts for Champions, Units, and Spells.
Bug Fixes
General
Fixed the search page search type filter from having the wrong type selected when using the search box in the header.
[12] Changed "Active Threads" to "Recent Threads" on the forum main page to be more consistent.
[115] Clicking on a link that "jumps" you to content on the same page no longer covers the heading name or element with the navigation on mobile.
Navigation animations no longer take so long to complete. Sort of a change and not a bug fix, but the nav has been frustrating for some of us and you so we'll call it a bug =)
[105] Fixed an issue where you were unable to vote on an object after a comment was posted.
Hearthstone
Fixed an issue where you could not filter by multiple expansions on the card listing when a single class was selected.
[67] Database pages with pagination (cards, decks, etc) now have top and bottom pagination. Previously was bottom only.
Fixed an issue with competitions sorting incorrectly on the competition list.
Fixed an issue that prevented Demon Hunter decks from saving correctly.
Fixed multiple issues that could cause the deckbuilder to fail to load cards due to "bad" data being input.
Runeterra
[67] Database pages with pagination (cards, decks, etc) now have top and bottom pagination. Previously was bottom only.
[146] Fixed an issue where the deckbuilder was not saving the archetype field to the deck.
Priest will get proper thread treatment tomorrow. Waiting on some additional details to see how we want to go forward with it to make stuff as clean as possible.
It looks like Demon Hunters are going to be synergizing with cards that gain power or trigger effects based on whether or not they have attacked this turn, which plays well into their Hero Power design. With it only requiring 1 mana, we'll likely be making frequent use out of attacking with our hero.
Are both cards for Demon Hunter that appear in their Basic set and highlight the hero attack mechanic. We've also got two other basic cards that buff your Attack.
I for one am excited to see hero attacks coming to a class as a core mechanic. It also looks like they've got weapons (Flamereaper) which is awesome to see. It would have been a crime to put in Demon Hunters without weapons.
What do y'all think about this being a core class mechanic?
We're in the business of news, we're never going to skip covering anything unless we're bound by a legal agreement. Very hard to say no when this is likely going to be the biggest article we've ever posted on the site and it is stuff like this that'll help us stay on the map.
Google Heathstone Demon Hunter and Ashes of Outland. We're there.
I find it very difficult to not be critical of people that are given early access to content and then butcher the delivery this bad. When it is your job to protect content and it is of this severity, you better do it correctly.
The saddest part about this is they aren't even going to be penalized. Blizzard will pretend to be upset about it, perhaps make a comment on it on tomorrow's stream, and then give them more content for the next expansion. Meanwhile, if Out of Cards had early access to info and we hit the publish button a day early, we'd be forever blacklisted from Blizzard since we aren't critical to their non-Hearthstone outreach. If we are going to be held to a higher standard than others, then I'm going to hold people as equal. If we made a mistake like that, I'd call us idiots as well. Even Out of Cards has steps to prevent embargoed information from going live or being seen by members of the team that should not be privy to those releases.
This isn't something we could realistically hide. It would hurt how the article gets consumed not only on here but also on how it would get picked up organically on the internet. I know this isn't ideal for everyone, but we're sorta known for acting on spoilers and we're in the business of growing the site. I'm sorry that it wasn't your cup of tea.
Also, I don't think this is anything like your Dumbledore comparison. It sucks, but this doesn't spoil a long story.
Yeah, we have a YouTube now =)
Not completely settled on the plans for it, but we'll definitely make use of it in the future.
It isn't getting a rework. They're switching the card names and art.
Illidan is now the basic hero for Demon Hunter instead.
Yeah, they should have just made up a new character. Named trash bin.
Without a doubt the difference here is Illidan is a basic hero. It can make things less confusing when people are talking about him.
Definitely not going to happen :)

Post has been updated with all the information we have for the new ranked system.

Hearthstone is getting a 10th class!
Blizzard said for years they were going to stick to 9 classes but things have changed with the release of Ashes of Outland.
Its Polygon, they'd be even more stupid if they were posting fake Hearthstone stuff.

We weren't at the summit, they were. Anyone at the summit won't be talking about it until tomorrow.

Honestly, blame Polygon.

Expansion symbol =)
Polygon isn't going to post fakes. They were at the press event last month. They goofed on the publish date.
The cutoff point has to be somewhere! There are at least a dozen objectively cute cards from the past year lol
Derpcorn doesn't discriminate. Delicious is delcious!
