The issue with Pillage Rogue is that gets stomped by Pirate Rogue, which is played by a few of the players I come across commonly (not that Mine Rogue does much better, but it can pull a victory with a dirty discount on Wildpaw Gnoll). I also think that deck isn't good against Shamans in general because they run this Scargil murloc package with Mutanus, and Mine Rogue is the only combo deck viable in the meta that can continue to play past that.

Running Savory Deviate Delight is a genius idea. I can't take advantage of it, but I will definitely pass that information along to my friends. Thank you.

I have decided I will try and finish around rank 300 this month, and the number of times I have lost on turn one with zero possible counterplay is absurd. Every other game is a Shaman ramping into Ancestral Call and putting out King Neptulon or Y'shaarj. Is there any counter to this?? I know I am going against one because no one is playing Freeze Shaman anymore.

I have been considering running Sap because I am playing Mine Rogue but that feels just as high rolly and I would have to give up Cloak of Shadows for it.

For the love of your WR, do not run Death Warden to counter Mine Rogue. Run Dirty Rat and play it as your opponent sets up Necrium Blade (If you respect your opponent to do the right thing, which I mostly do not) or as they play Snowfall Graveyard.

If you are struggling to beat Mine Rogue, playing a aggressive deck or a deck that gains a lot of armor is the way to go. Also, Mine Rogue does not use any quests??

The response window section was particularly helpful. If only the game wasn't swarming with bots so one could actually apply the practice...

Meh, combo decks that win by doing a specific amount of damage never last in a world where Armor Vendor and Druids exist. If all it took was playing 32 something damage from hand to win, then Malygos Druid would be a tier 0 deck. Besides, that deck absolutely crumpels under any amount of early pressure, which the format is filled with ATM. I do not expect it to last long.

Edit: After beating nearly every Mine Rogue I came across, I decided to try the deck out myself to see why it suddenly got so popular. I love it. It is absurdly good, as long as you don't queue into a Pirate Rogue lol

People say this about every live service game. I honestly think compared to any other modern game with consistent updates, HS is in a pretty good place. Bugs get fixed fast and never are somewhat rare to come across in a normal game of HS.

edit: Though if you do wanna see some funny bugs you should check out Hearthtech

I really appreciate how the cards were sorted by the archetype they were printed for. It is much easier to digest the set this way.

Was the entry always so expensive? I remember it being the cost of an arena entry. I also remember getting a free entry too?

That is a huge downgrade from a legendary, I wonder what could have made them decide to change their minds?

No turns? 3 minute games? Very interesting. I will definitely be picking the game up...

Edit: I need to stop trying to multi-task while I absorb information lol

The same connection Vanndar has with big minions. They simply have opposite effects (synergy with small vs. big) because they are of opposing factions.

I hope the reason you stuck with HS wasn't because Ben Brode worked on it lol

I don't think Dredge was a bad keyword, I just don't think it was interesting enough to be an expansion's keyword. It just feels really boring compared to something like magnetic. Though, unlike magnetic, I do hope to see more Dredge.

I just think the colossal minions are boring compared to past big minions. You could replace colossal with battlecry and they would practically be the same. Without any support for the colossal keyword, they just feel like generic big minions to me. Maybe if there was a recruit effect for colossal cards? Because without the support, they feel like huge letdowns compared to building your deck around an Old God, a Loa, or even the faction leaders.

edit: Worth noting I do not think this is a bad expansion, just a boring one.

This whole expansion felt uninspired IMO. I am not one to complain often about HS, but dredge is a incredibly un-unique idea for a set mechanic, and colossal minions are literally just big minions which have existed since the beginning of HS. Also, big minions have been a theme for expansions forever now. Look at WoTG for example. Colossal minions in particular are extra boring because they don't do anything but be big. In the past you would build around your big minions to get value from their effect.

It is a terrible card. There are more than enough better stat sticks that do not see play. With the cost being so high it is a win more card.

I remember when Blackwater Behemoth was revealed and I called it a Ragnaros that kills itself, no one agreed with me LOL

Honestly, I think this meta is going to remain really monotonous until the mini set arrives because nothing can be buffed that would add depth to the gameplay.

    Animestone sounds so cursed...

I wonder why WoW IPs don't do as good in Japan but do do good in other countries that have a culture very different than the United States?
