  • I . . . I am not sure how I feel about this.

I am super hyped for the new class, but also, do we really want a new class? I guess we do, but, do we really? Will this just add to the overall cost of the game in a way that F2P players won't be able to keep up anymore? Will we get more gold/packs/dust to compensate for all of the new cards being added? Will Demon Hunter get cards from GvG, TgT and all of the other wild sets? And will players who have bought all of the adventures just get all of those cards for free? Will all of the wild cards be designed in a way that they would have been good in the old days of Hearthstone, but may be underwhelming now, or will they design the old cards with the same design philosophy with which they design cards now? Will we get 20 deck slots? What is the hero power? How many, if any, free Demon Hunter cards will we be getting? Will they give us free Demon Hunter cards from sets we have already bought packs from, or will we have to go back and buy a ton of old packs to collect all of the cards? Will packs include a larger quantity of cards to make them more consistent in compensation for adding a whole nother group of cards to the game?

Honestly, I am just in shock. I will have to wait a few days to sort out exactly how I feel about this.

*edit* Also, they did a good job on the priest set.

*second edit* I found the hero power right there on the top of the page, I am not sure I like it being 1 mana. I would much rather have a 2 mana hero power that gives your hero +2 attack instead.

  • If Smitten Swordmaster is on sale for a 0% discount, then it isn't really on sale, is it?

  • Happy pi(e) day everybody!

  • I think it is called "big beast hunter" because of the King Krush OTK, not necessarily because of the quantity of actual beasts.

Trade only? yes, you go first.

Ok, new idea. Not too sure of the cost. Yes, this can turn your tokens into Ragnaroes, or enemy elementals into Totems. However it requires setup and could be a dead card some of the time.

@shaveyou - I agree with everything Kansas said. Xavathras is the more interesting card, but if it’s disgusting itself then a transform effect makes more sense

I don't like that it hits two minions because then it becomes way to efficient removal against classes like shaman or paladin that have token generating hero powers, or classes like rogue or warlock who have a lot of lackeys. I would make it only hit one minion. Or you could have it hit both adjacent minions but only friendly minions.

Also, shouldn't it say "adjacent" and not "next to"?

If everything has cower, then face has taunt.

I think for simplicity's sake, Heroes shouldn't get taunt/cower or anything like that. Plus, in the tooltip it specifically says "Enemies must attack minions that don't have cower".

As for mine, I've had a couple of ideas:

Seeping Rot, is probably the most basic form of effect for this comp, but I haven't seen anything like it. I balanced it against Crushing Walls, although it might be a little strong in a more control focused class.

Xavathras is a bit more interesting, essentially the flavour behind it is a trickster, who uses adjacent minions as human shields, disguising them as himself, allowing him to "reveal" himself once the disguise is killed. Not sure about balancing though...

I think Seeping Rot should just say "destroy adjacent minions" and not "all adjacent minions".

This is a very minor thing, but I feel like Xavathras should transform a minion instead of destroying it and resummoning himself. I don't know why, but I just feel like that would be more natural.

I think Xavathras is better because it is far more interesting and unique and far more likely to make it to the finals.

  • I like it. It is sort of like stealth but a bit more interactive, and the flavor is spot on.

Though isn't Terrifying Roar kind of pointless? If everything has Cower it is the same as nothing having Cower. Also, Fizzlebang is pretty OP since he is effectively just like Glinda Crowskin from the witchwood solo adventure who gains indestructible as long as you control a minion. She is a super hard boss even with a fully jacked dungeon run deck.

  • Sorry, I misunderstood your post and downvoted unjustly.

  • That was my favorite part of the article.

  • Yes yes yes PLEASE be pandaren related! Lorewalker Cho could use a friend who doesn't waste all of their youth drinking beer.

  • Leeroy Jenkins (I guess his summoning quote is a little bit more just meme-ish, but whatever)

Deals a lot of burst damage

  • Does anybody know anything about that one deck that has 4 patches in it and how that is possible?

  • Dancin' Deryl is an interesting hero. I know he has a ton of potential but I really have no idea how to play him. Do I just freeze the board for 2/3 turns until I can get an 11/11+ Righteous Protector? Or do I just play as normal and maybe score a handful of hats?

One time one of my opponents played Dancin' Deryl and stayed on tier 1 for the entire game. I can't remember if he made top 4 or not, but I remember he did much better than I thought he would.

  • If all of these speculations and leaks are correct than this will be an awesome year.

I am getting very antsy for an official announcement from Blizzard.
