I usually refrain from posting in the discussion thread, but I have a general question: "What is the purpose of the description field on the submission form?"

I used it to repeat the card text, but should something else be entered instead, like card flavor text or perhaps even card motivation text? I would like to know, because if I keep using it wrongly, I will enter each competition with a handicap/penalty that I am unaware of.

I now have 9 classes with 1000 or more wins. It feels really weird to only have Demon Hunter left to complete this feat. Almost feels like I completed Hearthstone with some loose ends here and there.

I already have most hero portraits and cardbacks. Reached legend dozens of times. Got the 12 wins key from arena years ago (pity they removed it visually from the game). Duels is kind of broken still and Battlegrounds is only a nice distraction once in awhile. Seems like there is a void appearing in front of my progression in Hearthstone.

Aside from those silly achievement points (which I do not intend to fully collect or care about without XP rewards attached), what are your personal goals left in Hearthstone?

Also, I conceded a lot of times on the Wild ranked legend ladder to efficiently gain more wins. Now my MMR is completely out of whack because after each win it is still going down, crazy stuff 😅

I am using this super high-roll Dragon Deathrattle Rogue deck to climb the wild legend ladder until I finally reach a 1000 Rogue wins (almost there now). The main reason I pilot this list is because the outcome (win or lose) is decided by turn 4/5 on average. It actually has a relatively decent winrate. Turns out cheating out Dragons with 30+ stats combined is pretty much unstoppable unless you run into immovable Reno Priest.

Hi, this might seem like a weird question but honestly what do you do on this great HS community site? I see like 886 pages of members (roughly 22K users) and on the first few pages it seems like there is a lot of activity going on, but it does not seem to translate directly to a lot of new posts being created when I look at the recent forum threads, articles or deck comments.

I will start off with myself, I visit OoC daily multiple times:

    • to check on new announcements about HS obviously and participate in the discussion
    • to post in a few dedicated forum threads (reward track progress and such)
    • when I hit legend in a season to post my deck and if anyone is interested discuss about it
    • sometimes I also participate in the fan creation competitions

    What about you? 😅

I just finished all my weeklies and reached level 151. I am also closing in rapidly (-25 wins) on completing my eighth 1000 wins class (Shaman).

The massive hero portraits influx is taxing indeed, but still manageable I think. However, I feel the overall quality has diminished somewhat though.

My next milestone is really far away (+101 levels) at which I will pick up Dragonstalker Rexxar as my third T2 hero portrait like I mentioned before.

The current meta is quite stale already. Do we have some new info about the upcoming Wailing Caverns mini-set? When do we expect it will be released?

Hi, I would be more than happy to provide you with some advice about playing this deck... I hope it will help you out!

First of all, you could have had an unlucky streak. There is no way I can tell you right now without seeing playbacks or going more in-depth about those games you played. The decks you mentioned are not unfavored for Big Shaman, but can have explosive starts too. Receiving 20 damage by turn 3 does sound like they had insane openings. Anyways, let us start off with some general mulligan tips.

I always keep Ancestor's Call, no matter the matchup. Against Big Priest this can have undesired outcomes, but we are not sure if it is Reno Priest or not so we just do not care. Against Reno Priest it can even work like a Dirty Rat especially if you can follow it up with Devolve or Devolving Missiles. This effect is also perfect against APM Mage.

Second (almost) always keep is Lightning Bloom, because you want to combo out as fast and furious as possible. When you go second and have The Coin, very few decks can handle a normally 8+ mana cost minion on board by turn 2 which is what the deck is all about. Otherwise playing the combo before turn 6 is often times still very hard to deal with.

If you have either Ancestor's Call or Eureka! in hand, now it is time to also keep a big minion in hand. Except Muckmorpher any other minion would do, but the dream is obviously Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound. If Muckmorpher is also in your hand, you run the risk of comboing him out instead which is of course undesired. That is why I try to play him first before going off with the combo.

The turns you are not slamming face, you just try to keep the board as clear as possible with your spells, but do not overextend this because we can heal up with Healing Rain and Walking Fountain. If you still have mana left on a turn, just press the hero power button to have some decoys for your face on the board. Having weak totems on board is bad if you run into a Psychic Scream, but if that happens it will be a loss anyways.

Against Reno Priest this deck is unfavored even though it can win against them, but Lady Luck needs to be on our side. Running into Zephrys the Great is usually a horror show for us, because they will likely pick Hex, Shadow Word: Death or a cheap Silence spell. A single copy of Ancestral Spirit is in this deck to make a cheated out minion even more sticky, just in case the opponent is able to kill it.

By the way, my latest version runs Sphere of Sapience which helps out a lot if you have it in your opening turns.

PS.: I do not give deck advice or write guides often, so these tips might be a bit unstructured. I still have some more tips to share, but they are for really specific situations which require lots of text to write down. These general tips should do the trick already fine I think.

    😄

    Thanks!

If only I figured this out sooner, I would have added direct images to all my HS legend decks in the past. I can still update them I guess, but I am not sure I want to do that retroactively 😅

Today, I replaced a Maelstrom Portal for a Sphere of Sapience to be even more efficient/consistent.

My apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but it seems adding an image to a post via imgur does not work anymore? Can anyone confirm?

Cool! I did not notice before such a thread existed where we could share our 1000 class wins progression.

I am closing in rapidly on completing Shaman as my 8th class over 1K wins. Rogue will follow soon after and Demon Hunter is obviously last which is going to be a real long grind to complete. I do not expect to finish it in 2021 even.

I am already dreading the moment when the eleventh class will be added or when 1500 wins hero portraits will be announced eventually.

This season I only had a 9* bonus, but still cruised to Legend easily using this off meta Big Shaman list. Most opponents will expect Murloc Shaman which messes up their mulligan strategy. Obviously, keep Devolve and Devolving Missiles against Token Druid and Hand Buff Paladin. Do not overload yourself the turn prior to your combo turn. Now just dodge Reno Priest (almost unwinnable matchup), take the wins against any other deck and climb the ladder all the way to Legend.

    Good Luck & Have Fun!

Perhaps I was not clear enough, so I will share my perspective of why I turn emotes off. Aside from playing a turn-based game of digital cards, I do not care for ANY other interaction with my opponent whatsoever. I do not play HS to make friends or enemies. I like HS because it reminds me of Magic: The Gathering; it has a collectible aspect, cool animations, tons of flavor, most of the time it is really fun and it even runs on a mobile device. When playing a match (Win or Lose) the outcome will be decided by who played the best sequence of cards. If I get bored during a match, I will fiddle with the board or direct my attention somewhere else. If the AI was smart enough, I would not even mind playing against it, but since it also rewards less XP I will not do this. Whenever I want to discuss about HS, I just go online and visit a great HS community like Out of Cards instead of spamming emotes with some random stranger opponent.

People are different, which makes them unique. People play games like HS in their own way and get their personal satisfaction/enjoyment out of it. The fact Blizzard assumes an auto-squelch setting would be used only because people got offended prior is already flawed and false.

Bottomline is this; there already exists a manual squelch option in the game. So, they clearly are not opposed to players getting squelched. Some of us just want an extra auto-squelch setting which save us some time. The saved time is at most 2 seconds each game. Considering I already played 15000+ games (and counting) it adds up significantly (8 hours! rounded down). It is just plain ignorant that a Quality of Life request so simple and harmless is not granted to HS players by Team5.

By the way, not trying to convince you of anything unless by any chance you are working for Blizzard who randomly saw my somewhat harsh (rant) comment 😇

Your example has some similarities to the emotes issue, but IMO they do not entirely fall in the same category. I do agree with that some long animations are annoying and should be sped up. Shudderwock was the worst offender.

A more similar example would be to have to sit through the NPC telling their story/conversations in the solo adventures. At least with those most HS players probably will not revisit them after getting the reward. Why does Team5 not look at it from the point of view such as that we do not want nor have to login by filling in our password whenever we launch Hearthstone? They have implemented a keep me logged in (or remember my credentials) checkbox for that. Just implement the very same kind of checkbox for (opt-in) auto-squelching emotes in the settings as it is a frequently asked/desired for Quality of Life improvement and be done with it once and for all.

    Quote From Team5

Auto-squelch is something that's been discussed by the Hearthstone team before, but it's not something we're comfortable with. What would likely happen were auto-squelch implemented is that players would enable it after a single incident, and that would be it. They would never reactivate emotes, and as more players did it over time, emotes would largely be devalued.

Squelch exists as it does now as a means to ignore someone being particularly vocal. If someone is just spamming 'thanks' over and over, you have a means to deal with it, and bypass perceived rude behavior. You absolutely have the option to squelch every single opponent you play, and we're comfortable with that. We simply don't want to give players the option to forever disable emotes with the click of a single button.

There's a lot of feedback on this particular issue, and it's something we're constantly evaluating, but that's where we are as a team, presently.

Considering the opinion of Team5 (quoted above) and speaking for us manual-squelchers out there, we can even live with such a setting which could reset itself after installing every patch as a meet eachother in the middle solution.

Having this setting does not hurt anyone that wants to emote; the emoters can still emote until eternity into the void without them ever knowing they were squelched already and it only improves the experience for us squelchers (who never want to get emoted). Thus a net positive, let us see this being implemented and read back in one of the future patch notes please (one can only hope).

Sorry for hijacking this topic to ask for (or at least share my thoughts about) an auto-squelch setting within the game client/app itself 😋 so please continue the discussion about the intentions of emotes.

Whatever each players' negative/neutral/positive intention of (ab)using the available emotes is, as Tumbleweedovski stated earlier, an (opt-in) auto-squelch option should at least help out HS players who do not want to interact at all with their opponents whatsoever aside from playing the actual game itself. To this day, I cannot comprehend the reluctant stance/opinion of Team5 on this matter.

I just hit level 133 today, a thirdway until the end of the current Rewards Track 🏁

I chose Felravager Illidan as my second T2 hero reward. It certainly is not one of my favorite hero portraits but should get plenty usage until I finally reach a 1000 Demon Hunter wins (next year maybe).

The third hero portrait will definitely be Dragonstalker Rexxar, because he looks absolutely amazing with that awesome shiny golden Dragon armor. ROAR!! 🐲
