  • 1.  Thank Yogg they hall of famed Leeroy Jenkins.

    2.  I am betting we get a support neutral minion that says: Battlecry: Draw the bottom card in your deck.

    3.  I can see this card working in decks with weapon buffs so you can swing with it such as pirate warrior with the plus of more consistent draw.

Overall I think this is an average card. Not game breaking but not bad either.

  • This one obviously goes well in heal Druid with Lucentbark.  Shaman is less obvious.  Maybe this is the start of heal Shaman over the next 2 years, but it will need a bigger payoff than Lucentbark.

  • I really like the design of almost all of these dual class cards so far.  This one benefits mage a little more than Shaman right now.  Mage has a couple more spell damage class cards in Standard than Shaman plus a lot more in wild.  I think for Shaman to get the most out of this card, it would need a weapon with spell damage on it.  Mage now has a 9 mana Flamestike with Kirin Tor Tricaster.  I'm not sure what that is worth but it could be an interesting deck build

  • I really like these deck ordering/manipulation cards.  Now if we can add a little more specificity to some future joust cards (reveal a minion in each deck then do something),  then we might get better ways to achieve control or combo archetypes.

Scrying is good in MTG, I don't see why hearthstone should be any different. I am very interested in how much this card will be played.

*edit* also in wild Twig of the World Tree is now broken.

    Blingtron 3000

Good point. But with Blingtron, you had to spend a total of 9 mana to get 10 mana. Now you have to spend a total of 5 mana to get 10 mana. And with the sphere you can set it up to have 19 mana in a single turn, but with blingtron you could get at most 15.

In the early game, it's not a mana problem; it's a consistency problem.  You have to draw 2 legendaries in class that can't tutor weapons and you have better and more reliable ways to ramp.  At turn 10 you are talking about a difference 4-9 mana, in a class that can heavily reduce the cost of cards in your hand via other minions plus cheat mana with cards like Floop.  There might be something broken here but I don't think so.

  • Synergizes with Ace Hunter Kreen.  Apparently Demon Hunter now needs to have more silence than Priest.

  • 5 stars for the name of the card.  I was expecting a larger percentage of this set's cards so far to be puns.  The card's effect seems interesting and fair so 3 stars.

  • Yeah.  I can't believe Blizz printed this.  This card pisses me off!  There is a reason you hall of famed Divine Favor!  Now you just made another one in reverse combined with Jeeves for a turn!  The only upside I see for this card is countering all the b.s. combo decks like Quest mage ( assuming they don't play the quest reward the same turn) and armor solitaire druid decks that flood wild.  This is not the solution I was looking for.

  • Wow! This one is crazy!  Not only good in aggro with smaller minions, but also in midrange decks with understated battlecry minions like Defender of Argus which I haven't seen in a while.

  • It is a tricky balance.  There are a subset of players who will come back to the game during the reveal period because they are exited.  They play more and keep up with new card reveals.  They will then burn themselves out and leave the game again within 2 weeks of a new expansion or sometimes before an expansion even releases.  I have experienced this myself.  The month long past reveals are way too much and as you said exhausting.  Marketing is probably looking at the month after release as well as the reveal period in making the financial determination.  I think FrostyFeet has it right.  2-2.5 weeks looks like the sweet spot.  S. Academy reveal seems a bit short.

  • Glad to see Inspire back in the fold.

  • This game sounds fun.  I am Wild only player and here are a few concepts that I would like to see added to the game.  I generally like to play control, midrange and value decks.  I understand that some of the wording won't fit on the standard card but here is what I got.

Mage/Rogue:  Mysterious Hall Monitor -  Epic minion - 6 mana 6/6 .  Battlecry: Shuffle a copy of each secret you have played into your deck.

C'mon Blizzard!  You released Glacial Mysteries eons ago and it is still useless.  Let's give this card the support it deserves! I want to play some secret control mage not that aggro garbage.  Also Shadowjeweler Hanar could use some support in standard with only 2 rogue secrets in standard plus the nerf.

Mage/Shaman:  Brain Freezer - Legendary Minion - 10 mana  5/5 .  Battlecry: Summon 3 random elementals from your hand that freeze.

Let's kill 3 birds with 1 stone here.  1. Elemental synergy  2. Freeze Synergy  3. Destroy the 10 cost pool.   There are some interesting non-battlecry elementals in standard right now and a few more additions could make a card like this work.

Paladin/Priest: Ruler of Thirds - Legendary Minion - 9 mana  6/3 .  Taunt. Deathrattle: Set each player's health, armor, and mana to 3, 6, and 9 randomly.

Is anyone else tired of Druid having so much armor in wild?  Yeah, me too.  Let's hurt the 9 pool while we are at it also.  I wanted to give priest a different method to go late game by continually resurrecting this minion through cards such as Embalming Ritual.  Paladin could also resurrect this on turn 10 with Redemption.  Paladin likes to manipulate mana in strange ways.  Synergies with this card such as Jepetto Joybuzz and Nozdormu the Timeless might make it playable.

Rogue/Warrior: Boarding Schooler -  Rare minion- 4 mana 1/6 Pirate - Whenever you summon an exact copy of a minion, shuffle a copy into your deck.

We are looking for some control Pirates here or infinite value but Patron warrior is good too!  Captain Hooktusk could also benefit.

Rogue/Warrior: Tattletale -  Common minion - 5 mana  3/5 - Spellbust: Swap stealth minions to taunt; and vice versa.

Druid/Hunter:  Multiple Choice Mascots - Rare minion - 4 mana  4/2 - Choose a deathrattle (Secretly) - Summon 2  3/3 bears. Give them Taunt, Poisonous, or Lifesteal.

It is time to bring back Fatespinner and test it with a class that can put secrets on Heroes and minions.  This can also help Heal Druid while giving some support to control Hunter.  I hope to see a card like this one in the set.

Priest/Warlock: Shadow Word: Procrastination - Common Spell -  4 mana.  Lifesteal. Deal 4 damage to all minions.  Destroy 3 mana crystals.

I want to see more mana destruction cards.  Priest and Warlock could use a legendary that destroys cards in you opponents deck based on how many mana crystals destroyed throughout the game.

  • I smell some even decks coming around the corner in wild.  With the spiteful/archivist package, you can run C'thun, Floop, and maybe even Twig variants.

  • I will be using this card quite a bit.  It seems fine in slower value decks.  This also reduces disappointment from getting these in packs for those who despise this kind of RNG.

  • Can't wait to see this from Conjuer's Calling and other transform effects!

  • You took the time to write all this, and yet no one responded.  I feel a little bad so I guess I will respond.  You did a pretty good job with your analysis.  I can agree with a majority of it.  I really liked the Animal Companion solution for example. I do have a couple of gripes with what you wrote though.

Arcane Golem : give your opponent a card. this should be an example of a minion that gets increased stats in exchange for giving benefits to your opponent. Giving a Mana crystal is such a horrendously terrible thing that this is effectively just lying to new players about what is considered  equivalent exchange in this game."    1.  The design team might just want to show new players the power of mana ramp with this particular card instead of equivalent exchange.  Players tend to learn and remember more from losses than wins and this will be a powerful lesson for them.  2.  More importantly though is the fact that the design team has been very clear about removing almost all of the mill options out of the basic and classic sets.  Cards like Vanish, Coldlight Oracle, and Naturalize have all been HOFed.  Wild does not need another mill option either as those decks are powerfull enough.  Arcane Golem is fine as is and also serves the purpose of being an above stated minion in the 3-cost pool so they don't have to keep printing one in expansions.

Xavius:  Can't we just swap the attack and health on this guy already so Violet Teacher can have the big brother she always wanted!

  • I only play meme decks when I am not trying to ladder.

Regardless of keeping him, isn’t there still a chance of me opening a normal one as I only have the golden copy not the normal one? I

It sounds like you are a new player based on your join date and the few legendaries you own.  There is a rule called the 'No Legendary Duplicate Rule'.  You will not open duplicates of Legendaries in a set until you own all the Legendaries in that set.  The game does not distinguish whether the legendaries are golden or not but only if you own it or not.  If you do dust Finley, he will go back into the pool of legendary cards you can potentially open when you get your next legendary.  I'm not sure if this site has a new players guide but you might look for it on the forums.

I would keep Sir Finley for now.  I would not dust him for 1600 dust only to craft another legendary.  I think that is bad value.  However dusting him for 4 epics that are meta and will be around for awhile is a different story.  About 7 months from now Witchwood, Boomsday, and R. Rumble will leave standard. Some of those cards are still good, but I would 'bite the bullet' and try to craft from the 2 newest expansions first as those cards will be around longer assuming you are FTP and are interested in sticking with the game long term.

  • It sounds like you are going for as big a collection as possible including wild cards.  It really makes little sense to craft any classic legendaries like Brightwing because you will open them eventually through spectator quests and tavern brawl.  Use your dust on those wild cards if you don't plan on buying those packs.
