  • Thanks! Yeah, Dark Magician is iconic, but consider: Dragons!

I also think Joey and Kaiba are more fun characters. Don't get me wrong, Yugi and Atem are great, but they're up against someone crazy enough to play a luck based deck (and who usually wins with it) and mr. "If there are aliens out there, let's teach them how to duel".

  • Followed the feedback and came up with this guy. Keeping the Sunken effect, but the Colossal effect has been replace with a "minions that cost 7+" one. The only colossal that can't be summoned is Crabatoa. Also made it Epic, see how it's received.

BasilAnguis: I like it, simple, but effective design. Great if you can kill it the turn it's summoned, like with a Rancor, or in a Warlock deck.

Wailor: Yogg'Siren simply because of the name. The others aren't bad either.

ChickyChick: So Grotesmal would give you 5 options for dredge? Not sure how the UI would work if you have more than 2 tentacles. Either way, I like the Herald the most.

Alfi: The shuffle effect is basically meaningless unless you Dredged, or you played Lorekeeper Polkelt before, Ambassador Faelin, or Sir Finley, Sea Guide, in all the cases the card being anti-synergistic (except for maybe Finley). Also, you can't really interact with the game after the turn ends.

  • The unofficial re-release aside, I was really hoping someone would pick up this style of game. Aside from PvP, I could see this working as a roguelike deckbuilder, a co-op game, or a sort of 8-player king of the hill game.

  • Well, there is Duel Masters Play... If you can read Japanese.

I, too, wish DM would make a return. If this article does well, it's one of the games I wish to cover like I did here with Chronicle.

  • First of all, they're Japanese, not Chinese. BIG difference.

Second, if you're going to concede before you even see if your opponent will make you go first or second, it only seems fair that it counts as a loss.

  • Got a few ideas going on in my head, but this is the one I'm most happy with at the moment:

Demonxz95: Rally neat idea and it can't really be abused since there aren't that many Dredge cards. Could probably be a 3/4.

linkblade91: Card looks fun. Can get some pretty disgusting value with Sunken cards and minions from Ambassador Faelin.

Hordaki: Both look good, but I like the Snorkeler more, since you need to build your deck around it a bit.

BloodMefist: Same thing I told Hordaki above, except in regards to Gaze into the Abyss (you'll want to capitalize the 'i' from 'into', though).

dapperdog: Too many lines, and it should be 'their deck' instead of 'his deck'. The effect is pretty complicated, and it wouldn't really do much most of the time.

MrRhapsody: Those are all really good. Can't really pick one. Would probably go with Clutch of the Deep simply because it supports Abyssal Warlock.

Neoguli: Pearl Empress is realistically the better of the tree, though I really like the Fledgling's design so much! The Legendary card is pure meme.

  • Remember when people thought that quest was bad?

  • Good catch, thanks!

  • This looks legitimately interesting! Shame it's stuck behind the MMO's paywall, hopefully they release a standalone version.

  • Honestly, this should be the week before the expansion. I got into Hearthstone during TGT, thanks to the brawl with the then new cards.

  • I spent 65 USD on the Welcome Back Bundle Rank 1 and the Voyage to the Sunken City Bundles Ranks 1 and 2. That's a total of 55 Standard Packs, 25 Sunken Packs, 4 Sunken Legendaries, and 1 Standard Legendary. Here's the legs I have afterwards:

That's 6 Legs in 80 Packs, if you ignore the free ones from the bundles. I also got the Warlock returning pack and the Alterac mini-set with Gold before buying everything.

  • Quote From Swizard
Agressive decks don't want Holy Maki Roll, and Control decks have better healing available.

    Ok. Hear me out.

    The Last Kaleidosaur

  • Mytgard is coming back at some point. There's also a new Pokemon Digital game coming soon. And Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is also out.

In reply to Any new DCG coming?
  • Funny enough, Mythgard is getting resurrected! Whether or not it will get to stick around remains to be seen.

As for why this over MtG: I don't follow the latter, so I can't really cover it. I will admit that I decided to write this article purely as a personal preference, also because it fit the whole Out of Carbs thing we had going.

  • The fact that people could see Konami doing this speaks volumes about the company. Glad to have entertained you!

  • Like I said in the last paragraph, all I've said is true, I just presented it in a jokey manner.

  • This seems to be a thing that harkens back to "the good ol' days" when MtG just launched. Can't really do that digitally. This seems more like a collection piece you can play with if you feel like it.

  • "There's more."

  • "This... Is a Chum Bucket!"

  • The only way I see the curse being good is if there are other cards generating it. Which miiiiight happen, since there's still a lot of Warlock cards to be revealed.
