Those cards were likely printed before Pot was banned, and Konami seems to not really care that a bunch of cards are unplayable. Also, there's Traditional format, where banned cards are only limited.

Yeah, those decks don't seem to be worth it. Good news is that [ygocard]Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon[/ygocard] decks seem to at least be decent.

Never said it failed, hell, it's among my favorite mechanics in card games, up there with slivers/survivors. it just felt kinda vulnerable.
