Also, on a side note: what are they going to do in 3-5 months? Duels was released with Scholomance, and Scholo is going to be rotating at the beginning of the new Hearthstone year....is it going to be updated with all new heroes? A lot of the treasures are specifically synced with the cards (Eclipse, Corrupt, etc) so when that set rotates...what happens to duels?
I'm still counting on the merc characters becoming new Duels heroes. The devs also mentioned earlier this year that they don't plan to remove any heroes from the pool.

I guess the theme was/is "first time playing WoW experience" accoarding to some Interviews. In addition to that they also introduced the Naaru Shard story in the Book of Mercenaries and also referenced it on some cards, the Deadmines trailer and the entire Mercenaries mode Story is build around it.
Personally I also think that Story wise the Year of the Dragon was better though. I guess it's because they used already established characters instead of creating new ones, which lead to more player engagement and speculation about the Story. It also took itself much less serious opposing to the current Story. Wether or not that's a good thing depents on the personal taste I suppose.
Gameplay wise however the current Story is much better. One thing the devs didn't like about the Year of the Dragon in retrospective was that you basically had no clue about the Story outside of Trailers and PvE modes. This year however the mercs (and what they are doing each expansion) can be seen on a variaty of cards in addition to the pve mode and trailers.

Pretty much what I expected. A post that's supposed to give us a general Idea of what they are currently working on. Atleast for me better than to give Details on things that might not even make it to the live version of the game.

I like how they are still continuing the naaru shard story through the mini-set. Though while the whole story has been better implemented gameplay wise, it doesn't even come close to the year of the Dragon. Atleast for me.

Interesting that Diablos last treasure isn't in this patch, considering that he's supposed to be a limited time hero. Either they didn't finish it in time or it is something special.
Did anyone spot Tamsin in the Trailer?
The original Article specifically said that everyone will get a diamond version of the winning teams Leader.
Funfact: The website released the Article too early because they tought that yesterdays expansion Teaser was the actual Trailer/Announcement.

Ok, now I have high expactations for the expansion song.
I doubt it. The 2 legendaries each class gets usually support two different Archetypes.
I would also approve a Lothar nerf, but only because I don't want my opponents to constantly face my golden Version of him.
Did anyone here got the packs? It's past the usual time, the Book of Mercenaries is live and I still havn't received the packs.
Each merc gains +1/+5 once you max out every single ability and equipment
It actually works (from this post)
General Idea as in we can expect:
Again, those are insights on the things they are currently working on

"(targets chosen randomly")
They generally avoid big reveals during the weekends.
yes, she first died and became undead during her time in Scholomance which happened before the book of Mercenaries.
I never saw packs as the primary way of unlocking new mercs. Just grinding them is far more efficient as you pointed out already.

this is the announcement
