    Blizzard makes you an offer and you will get exactly what you payed for. You can argue about the pricing, but it's per defintion not a scam.

  • thought the same when they buffed and later again when they nerfed Luna's Pocket Galaxy, then realized that I already dusted it during the boomsday expansion thinking it would never become viable. Looking back it's kinda ironic that it also had "Luna" in its name.

  • ofcourse, not every team is equally important all the time. The final design team obviously needs more members the closer the expansion launch is while the initial one needs less. UI is also less signifcant when the new gamemode is still in an early testing phase for example.

    It's also not like the devs can change the team whenever they want (unlike Valve, that's also part of why Artifact and Underlords died), it's an controlled change when needed. Most of the time the switched members also have skills that are usefull for both teams (like an inital designer that's switched to live service). It isn't really that unusal and I'm sure that there are also many other workplaces that work in the same way.

    You have initial and final design for the card expansion

    Battlegrounds and Mercenaries for the major secondary gamemode

    Live content for the minor modes (Tavern brawls, arena, duels) aswell as for exploring new ways to play the game

     

    And then there are two technical teams, one's for the matchmaking, progression etc. while the other is specifically for the UI (because that's a major part of HS)

    It really isn't a mess, just a logical worksplit for different Areas of the game.

  • they probably could have, but the time investment just wasn't worth it at that point. The team is also twice as big as it was back then, that's also why we have things like the core set, Battlegrounds, Duels and the upcoming Mercenaries mode.

    But the the rotation of 4 sets drastically improved the card pool, there is only Libram of Hope as an 9 mana outcome for example.

  • Duels was playable the day the announced the Darkmoon Faire Expansion, so still as part of the Scholomance expansion. I also highly doubt that they are going to release the mode and mini expansion at the same time as they would distract the focus from each other. In the recent times blizzard released one major non-expansion update every month. My guess on the next order would be: Duels Update(hinted already), mini-set, Battlegrounds Quillboar Update, Mercenaries.

  • You mean mercenaries? That's probably launching late into the expansion like Battlegrounds and Duels did. Maybe even as part of the fire festival event like the Trials by Felfire Story mode last year.

  • I actually don't see them that often anymore, maybe because the most popular decks right now (Spell Mage/Paladin) don't run them.

  • Almost all animation and UI elements are controlled by the client, so they can't fix those bugs with an server Update.

    Rightfully so, did you know that the card has an 60-70% winrate when played? The removel of bad spells in combination with Mage's carddraw options make the card insane.
