The main difference between this and Chef Nomi is that this card guarantess you that you will have something to attack with at the start of the next turn.
Doing 18 damage isn't going to win you the game, and there's a good chance that they'll get cleared each turn anyway because they're only 2 health.
There is actually a 0% chance that his can happen(Well, except if your oponents has Ras Frostwhisper + Spelldamage, but let's just ignore that) because the Imps also spawn at the end of your oponents turn, meaning you can instantly deal 18 damage at the start of your turn no matter what. That's not enough for an "otk", but could definetely be a finisher, or even a win condition if you are playing against an really grindy control deck.

The C'thun comparison makes more sense, but that card struggles to finish off your opponent if he has a medium size board and it's only a one time burst while the portal remains for the rest of the game. So I wouldn't write this card completeley off.

I highly doubt it. From what we know the mercenarie mode will have an strong rpg component where fights are based on multiple cooldown based abilities per mercenarie. So I don't think that we can compare the minions to the actual mercenaries in the mercenaries mode.

they are mostly designed as an fast(card draw) attacking(weapons/rush) class while also disrupting your opponnent(Silence/Glide/Stelina) springled with some token and big demon synergy. The drawback of that is that they have almost no card generation (have to rely on draw -> can fatique extremely quick) and have to attack with their face if they want to remove single big minions. This also means that they are weak against freeze and taunt effects.
A class identity is also more general than what you named. It's more about the general playstile and weaknesses than specific mechanics.

Well, the main reason for the level cap is to limit botting, so that no one can just bot through an whole expansion and then never has to worry about gold again.

All skinportraits are animated an have unique voicelines (except some skins for the 10 base heroes). Alternative heroes always have new interactions, entrance and HP animation on top of that. I'm also honestly not 100% sure if that's rexxar.
I don't think my dust reserves would have survived an upgrade to my all-golden rogue legendary collection :P
Seems like all announced (an probably future) diamond cards aren't craftable. It would also be insane to expect that they remake every past card with an 3d animation.

Man, those 3d animated cards look awesome! I think that will convince me to buy the Tavern pass just for the cosmetics alone. I also hope that the mini expansion will also have atleast 1 more diamond card.

You mean mercenaries? They just missjudged how fast they can finish the mode, can happen. But from what we know it will totally be worth it.

they are permanent.
I guess that confirms that Deathrattles are going to be DH theme for this expansion.

Well, here is a simple wild combo.
Step 1: You play a bunch of minions on the board and hope that they survive for 1 turn
Step 2: You play Warsong Envoy
Step 3: You play whirlwind
Step 4: You play the reverted charge card
Step 5: You realize that you already won the game if you managed to start your turn with 6 minions .

That "generic orc hero" is one of the 10 mercenaries, the protagonists of this Expansion XD
Edit: she is called Rokara

that would make the card waaay to highrolly.
That warlock legendary really shows how spell classes opens up a lot of design space to explore.
Except that the old Kazakus also costs 4 mana
how has someone throwing a bunch of fireblasts have nothing to do with mage?
fun fact: Even mage was one of the first semi-popular witchwood decks on week 1.
should be, Spirit of the Dragonhawk also counts towards Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk
