Please disregard my "analysis" completely. I'm a noob at Battlegrounds and these amateur predictions have turned out to be utterly false. Deathwing is a really great hero with token cards. My opinion is entirely wrong.

Can I submit a Bob's Tavern spell as my entry?

Had I remembered about those when I made this prompt, I would've said yes.

However, as it isn't specified in the rules, it's probably best that you don't.

Ah well. Thank you for the reply nevertheless.

Wow! Even sooner than I expected!

The new cards aren't listed here yet, but the video showed some of them. Kalecgos is a really interesting way to buff your whole board, offering potentially +6/+6 for each battlecry minion bought, although might be late at tier 6. Togwaggle seems very easily sniped, especially with those fire-breathing ping dragons. Speaking of pings, Imp Mama looks really good, and gives extraordinary fuel for Soul Jugglers. Potential highrolls with Mal'ganis and Voidlord. And most likely it can't summon itself. I wonder what repeatedly buffing card we'll get, something like Iron Sensei for Dragons.

As for the heroes: Galakrond is a worse Toki. Nozdormu is a very strong all-around pick that has no weaknesses or pitfalls. Ysera (ew hands), contrary to Jaraxxus and other tribe-specific heroes, counteracts the unluckiness of not finding minions of the tribe you're looking for, and guarantees strong synergy and many triples. Alexstraza seems slow to be any good. Malygos is basically +1 minion to a reroll per turn of a tier of your choice, looks okay, can be cast on your own minions but why would you do that. Reno can be very good on a Brann or something, but once per game? So no value other than that one occasion that may never come before you're eliminated? And for Deathwing: no. It's not worth a buildaround, as you opponent gets the same bonus, and that eliminates any slight advantage you may get.

So I guess we'll get a Fireside Chat: Year of the X (Phoenix seems likely) today or Thursday, and part of the announcement will be: "Dragons are now in Hearthstone Battlegrounds! Download the update now!" Or at least I hope so...

Another random deck brawl, but in my opinion far from the worst. My games were swingy and interesting, the odds turned quickly. One of my opponents had two Zilliaxes and many mechs, well try to beat my Embiggen and triple Bonemares. In the end I managed to win with The Ancient One no less.

Maybe the decks aren't that random? I've got to check this, but me on my first match and my second opponent were Paladins, and both decks seemed mech-focused. And my Druid deck had too much high-cost minions for a ""random"" deck.

Another [Hearthstone Card (Alexstraza) Not Found] deck, but with a cheap and extremely simple strategy: Mana Bind.

The boss always casts Heartseeker on turn 8. So you just play Mage, freeze everything, play the secret at 8 mana, drop Alexstraza on the next turn and kill the boss with your balanced 0 mana 'deal 25 damage' spell. Easy peasy. Just reset if you don't get the cards.

Not my idea though, I saw it here.

Haven't tried it, but [Hearthstone Card (Alexstraza) Not Found] seems OP, just like against the avalanche guy from the first week. Drop many stealth minions like Jungle Panther, stall with Freeze or double taunts such as Wax Elemental, maybe even Big Game Hunter as tech if you have him. Then play Alex as soon as possible and attack with the stealth minions. This should let you finish the game in a turn or two.

Okay, this is just my guesswork, and could be proven totally wrong, but I think Boompistol Bully is going to be absolutely insane. It locks out HALF  of the cards of the most popular Highlander Galakrond Rogue deck (according to HSReplay). And the remaining cards are mostly just low-cost spells like Praise Galakrond! and Shadowstep.

The effect is proven to be really strong by Loatheb, still played in Wild to protect a large board. But the difference between these two cards is that this locks out tempo and value options for the opponent. So dropping it on curve can put you greatly ahead in the tempo race. Not to mention this is a 5/5 as well, no drawbacks in stats.

Another attribute that may not appear on first glance is that this is one of the few (or only) cards that are techs AGAINST THEMSELVES. If both decks in a game run it, the first one to drop it wins more. This will bring many swingy and chaotic games. Even stronger with bounce effects like Shadowstep. This may be the strongest weapon of Rogue and against Rogue. A very interesting paradox and I can't wait to see how it will actually work out! (Even if I turn out to be totally wrong.)

I can confirm that Blessing of the Dog and Blessing of the Rat are, despite the wording indicating as such, not recursive. The hounds don't make new hounds and the Reborn is not infinite. Also, Blessing of the Tiger and Blessing of the Ox are missing a comma after "minion".

And the blessings don't seem to be randomly assigned either. I always got Tiger, Dragon and Dog as Paladin.

20€/$ for 25 packs, equals 0.8€/pack, that's better than the 50€ preorder, which was 0.83€/pack.

Seeing these cards will stay with us for more than a year, and the Year of the Dragon being the strongest year ever alongside Year of the Mammoth, I think this pack is very well worth it for both Standard and Wild players wanting to expand their collection. Not even mentioning the guaranteed 2 or more Legendaries.

Is it me not noticing something, or is it badly worded, or does Blessing of the Dog turn your minions into essentially pre-nerf Beast Dreadsteeds?

Favourite 2019 moment: The year-long narrative and the fun characters: the E.V.I.L. Leaders and the Explorers made this year much more memorable than any other year before.

Looking forward in 2020: Finishing the Year of the Dragon's story in Galakrond's Awakening, and finding out what Team 5 is planning for the next year. I think the last year was a giant improvement for the game: the surprise success of Battlegrounds, actual card buffs, free legendaries, quick responses to overtuned decks, large events like Doom in the Tomb, revisiting older mechanics like Highlander and expanded solo content (although I dislike it not being free, like it was between Frozen Throne and Rastakhan. Yes, there's more content than in Rumble Run or the others, but we only got a few packs alongside that for paying. I don't think it warrants the 20 €/$ price). I hope it's going to be even better: Tournament Mode maybe? More Battlegrounds content? I can't wait to see!

This is like Power of the Wild, but with twinspell and card draw instead of +1/+1 for all, and I think that is worse. Quest Druid is not a token deck, even with the potentially awesome power of Cenarius, and the current slower variant doesn't need a measly 3/2. It also already has card draw with Nourish. So I doubt this will see play.

Let's compare it to Tomb Warden.

That card is 8 mana for 2x 3/6 minions, so 4 for each. This has +2 attack, so let's put it at 5 mana. That's 15 mana, and this is just 10 + 3, you get 15/18 in stats which is better than Deathwing, so it must theoretically be worth it, isn't it?

    Absolutely not.

That card was only ever played with handbuffs. 9-10 cost cards in Hearthstone are only played if they're very swingy, like [Hearthstone Card (Dragonqueen Alexstraza) Not Found], Bloodreaver Gul'dan, often filling your board with large minions. This? Just 3 medium-sized bodies, not that hard to remove. This may get you some tempo, but that Overload (3) is going to sting next turn. Often you may get even behind because of that. I mean, one of the bodies may survive, but this only shows how powerful Dragon's Pack is/was, especially on curve. (That's the other thing, aggro can beat you before this can even come down.)

Second best Explorer after Emerald Explorer, Poisonous can be great in removing all the big bodies of this expansion. Stronger than average, but not unbalanced.

It's limiting that it needs multiple cards to complete. Maybe it will be played, the reward isn't bad. If completed in the same turn it's played, it's great tempo. Diving Gryphon helps it a lot.

Similar to Arcanologist, but it's a Beast, the Battlecry costs another 2 mana, plays the secret, and can be triggered multiple times if it survives. So better? And that card was played a lot. Thinning the deck of those weak topdecks is powerful.
