I don't like this kind of cards, not because they are overtuned (which this kinda feels like for 2 mana) but because it sends the clear message that riot intends only certain strategies to be hard to interact (those usually become meta defining) and others to be vulnerable.
It in a way predefines metas and is imo just on the lame side when it comes to game design.
I am sure that a fair amount of you is playing the Lab of Legends and that a good amount of the LoL likes a challenge and plays on higher difficulty.
I personally find it quite challlenging to beat legendary difficulty and I have to admit that I only managed to beat legendary on Riven.
This post is about sharing Impressions of the format, own stats and strategies for different champions that help to succed on legendary tier.
So what have you encoutered? Do think the new challenge modes are hard enough? What is your favourite LoL Champion with what build?... and how tf you carry Azir in legendary Mode?!
Simply because vanilla Champions are A: usually not good enough B: not exiting to play and C: add not much to the game.
Lebland is maybe a decent card in reputation decks but is so boring that I will never bother playing her over a Riven.
It's the same reason why I am not interested in Shen at all although being a onetrick in LoL... He is just bland and his chracteristics got very poorly executed exept for Stand United which is not strong enough for the current LoR powerlevel.
Btw I wish there were more swap effects and a Shen rework featuring more the stragic teamfight nature of Shen in LoL
That is your worst? I had a lulu deck that literally won on turn 2 (against 30 hp viktor) I had 0 mana Vault Breaker decks, I had run where Riven had 3 lichbanes...
Or Katarina with double ancient coin (0 mana) abd spellshield... and I got Stand United with double cast. which got to be the most op.....
You are right with you point that the 1 mana burst speed spell can be used for additional upside and that 6 x Flash Freeze is a pain in the ass for some decks yet you can't tell me that 2 mana is a justified manacost for this card because then you set yourself behind too much for the flexibility and when it comes to changing the speed: if this card is anything but burst speed it's easily on of the clunkiest spells in the game which would also proably kill the card.
While it might be that we might see a nerf to this card in the future I can't imagine any nerf that isn't outright killing the card...
Have you been play with this card or just against this card because playing the card I can say that this 1 mana that you point out to be not relevant can cost you the game very easily.
Flexibility vs mana efficientcy is balanced well in this card and I don't see a reason to nerf the card (if that is what you are trying to say)
Yes if you don't run countermechanics this deck is very hard to beat
but NO, this archetype is not op,
it is very vulnerable to non-combat removal that you find primarily in noxus, freljord and PNZ and shadowisles. None of these regions are really that popular right now which could be the actual problem but this archetype is not a problem yet and once people tech against it it will even less a problem
It's kinda funny (or sad) that Sejuani's play effect became so common with Shurima that you don't longer want to play her in shurima lists, it also shows that Shurima is actually THAT pushed that generic champions that can go basically in any deck outshine other region's champions in their archetype.
I don't know how long the community will be fine with that meta but it could very well be that we end up being fed up with Shurima very soon.
Just looking at the 1 drop section shurima makes one realise how much better these are: Dunekeeper: a 2/1 + a 1/1 ephemeral used eighter for nexus demage, extra death trigge, a free sac unit and an extra death trigger
Shurima is really strong, no doubt. It has the tools to compete. I think however that the new Shurima cards got intentionally released stronger to make shurima -which has only half the cards of any other region- playable. If they nerf the overtuned 1 drops later on and push back when the number of shurima cards gets more I am fine with that approach because unlike targon, shurima is not a toxic control region.
This is probably a bit true - but none of the Shurima stuff is absurdly overpowered. Except maybe the new Ledros combo - I'm really not a fan of that being a thing people can do now. But that's not even in Shurima's region - it's SI and PnZ.
Actually I feel like the new ledros combo is "only" going to be unfair against other control decks/slow decks who can then run deny/nopify. The fact that it is a turn 9 semi guranteed leathal makes it actually even more tame than TrundleAurelion Sol in a way because it doesn't ramp.
If you let a control deck get late expect it to win with a big play that you have to counter or lose..
The fact that the combo naturally gets worse with the inclusion of additional 9 drops let me guess that we will see at least 2 9 mana units in the upcoming sets killing the combo on it's own

I think Shurima is fine. It is the region with the best 1 drops in the game, with decent combat tricks and multiple viable themes. Sure they have the smallest cardpool which handycaps them a little but that's not too grave.
Anyways I think we should talk about demacia right now
Demacia is absolutely a force right now. No matter if they abuse the token on attack strategy of Azir or just chain 3+ attacks with Golden Aegis and Cataclysm: they simply have too many attacks right now allowing them to end the game if they get even the slightest ahead on board in the midgame. And while it is true that this was demacia's identity before already the amount of extra attacks just went up big time
I dunno, I don't think I've met the same deck twice since the expansion started. How can you be sure people are copy-pasting lists when you only see half their deck? People can have similar ideas to other people - it doesn't mean they copy pasted from the internet.
And incidentally, you'd only know they were copy pasting from the internet if you yourself are spending a lot of time looking at internet lists yourself.
I mean I watched Swim's deck idea video and I take this kind of video as a "not to build" guide since I am not going to be one of them However it is fair to say that players can come indeed come up similar decks themselves

Very efficient, a card setting up further turns and a decent combat trick.
It will see a lot of play but I don't see this card shaping the meta
Imagine that Hush wasn't a thing and then imagine that this card was a thing...
I know, thats a weird idea but one can always dream right?
You know is even more rediculous? LeBlanc with last breath: rally...
Once she is leveled up you more or less have a 0 mana Katarina
However i found Taliyah not that terrible... just pick as many triafarian mights with her deck as possible and let the 5/4 do their thing

I would actually prefer nerfing his level up to:
"the first time you play a card each turn pick eighter Gold Card Red Card or Blue Card and cast it".
Tf lvl up would still be powerful but mean a lot less value per turn.

Yeah the strange "feature" is a thing but it's okay.
I mean i sometimes do not notice that I have to pass again and need some seconds to figure it out but that's not too bad.
Anyways... who else likes the lab of legends a lot too?
Like it's the best place to do dumb stuff without running into Hush :D

just look at Iceborn Legacy after the "buff"

Yes, 5 attack tribal is a deck,

Baccai Reaper : a way better Precious Pet
Ancient Preparations scry3 + delayed 2/2?!
Destined Poro : the first actually good poro
Shaped Stone : basically always a 1 mana +3/+1 buff
Exhaust a miles better version Caught in the Cold
And Bloodthirsty Marauder which just is pretty agressive for 1 mana

The emperor deck is a deck that is balanced around competing in Magic the gathering-> a deck with "slighly" stronger cards
Sure they can do their 9 mana shenenigans that aren't even guranteed... if they survived the 10 attacks phases before they earned it ^^
