Dragons in battlegrounds. So... I had been excited for this, but then a few weeks back, I looked at all the dragons available. Unless they print some BG specific dragons, it's going to be difficult to make the existing tribe effective in BG's (I'm taking into account that Blizz will nerf Demons soon, at least they better because BG's are unplayable right now)
So many dragons have powerful battlecries that won't help in BG's, or require holding a dragon. Are we really going to have to hold onto a dragon the whole game just to get the most out of this tribe? I'm interested to see what Blizzard came up with to bring them into the mix and hopefully be a viable strategy.
Here's the dragons I can find that would be playable/not worthless in BG's. Some of these may be too good, but I'll put them here for discussion purposes.

Veranus is a very solid card. Better than Equality because it only hits your enemy minions. I will admit, I was disappointed when Veranus was announced, but now I'm very happy that he exists in the Hunter tool-kit.

BDP...
I have a very complicated relationship with this xpac. Honestly, we barely felt this xpac's effects until RoS, when year of the mammoth rotated, and everyone realized just how power magnetic is.
I will leave my opinions about magnetic out of this. It's almost easier to pick cards that I am happy to see leave standard vs. what I'm sad to see leave.
This guy made Secret Hunter viable again. I was so excited when he was revealed, as I knew I would be using him constantly in Secret Hunter. And boy did he not disappoint. You will be missed greatly buddy!

I am going to force myself to only choose one card that I will miss the most, and then put some "honorable mentions":
I'm honestly surprised to find myself choosing this one because of all the frustration this card has caused me during it's time in standard. But that just goes to show how versatile this card is, and how many decks it showed up in. As a Hunter main, losing Lifedrinker is going to hurt. Beast synergy, face damage and healing in a class with so little. Any Hunter deck I've built for the past 2 years that needed something in the 4 slot, had this put in.

I'm not even that salty about this, it's more funny. But I feel salt thread is a good place for it.
I'm finally going through and finishing some Heroic mode adventures that I just never got around to finishing. Currently working on the Majordorm/Rag fight in Blackrock mountain.
Im playing Jade Druid. Have a full board of 7 minions (largest Jade a 12/12) and have him set up for lethal. I'm at 16 health.
So what happens? Both of his fucking hero power attacks go face for exact lethal...

I agree it needs a change. But what you are suggesting would literally kill the game, because everyone would stop buying packs and just go F2P. That is not sustainable. Why buy packs when you can just move your dust around to whatever cards you need for whatever deck you feel like playing. The point of having a collection completely disappears. With <30000 dust, you could play any competitive deck for the rest of the time the game is live. (Which wouldn't be for very long if they followed your suggestion).
the economy issue is a very complex one where you have to think not just about the players, but the profitability of the company. As much as gamers don't like it, we live in a capitalistic society, and blizzard needs to make money too.
Already submitted this, but I would still be interested in some feedback for future competitions.
It doesn't really make a lot of sense for a Scheme card to use a watermark from a set before it existed, but the card is otherwise fine
I agree that the watermark decision was questionable. I understand why you chose it, but since this is a year of the dragon competition, I would suggest any of the 4 YoD watermarks instead.
Otherwise, I love the flavor of the card and the effect. It's Moorabi's effect, but actually playable!

Eye of the Storm is ridiculous off of random cast spell effects. I had a game this week where my opponent avoided lethal by getting Eye of the Storm as his LAST spell from Puzzle Box. The other 9 spells were all terrible, but the last one snuck in and lost me the game.
Just won a match against Embiggen Druid because of The Amazing Reno. Feels great!
In life, he was raised by Crystalsmith Kangor, who taught him the concepts of infinity and endlessness.
First idea, what do you think? If anyone is still in need of assistance, let me know.
This card frightens me. Now I haven’t played HS much lately so maybe I’m out of practice with balance, but this card looks insane. 6 Mana 4/7 Taunt Reborn is good. But it also generates 2 tokens, each of which can be bounced to generate more of the original card. It’s an expensive card but it can grind a game to a halt with just a few triggers or bounces
You make a very good point. Rogue could really abuse the tokens generated off of this, not to mention all the rogue deathrattle trigger effects. This card alone would create a new archetype... "Wall Rogue"

Let's say I believe Frodan, and am thinking in terms of setting the game up for the next 10 years. What would need to be changed to make the game last 10 years?....
Another 2 pages for decks (I'm thinking for 10 years as Frodan said, but I would be happy with even just 1 more page for decks)
OR a complete reworking of the UI/menus
Probably not getting any of the above.
I just deleted a massive paragraph that became extremely salty. Maybe I need to visit the salt thread and vent some frustrations about the current state of the game.
This is a spin on the classic "2 mana deal 3 damage". Being limited to this turn only makes it a bit less powerful but the Twinspell gives it more value. Maybe this will make Even mage good? (Lol no)
I like the flavor and the idea. My only concern, is the fact that at 2 mana, you are able to play all 4 of these, with the HP on turn 10. That's a 13 damage HP for 10 mana. I personally would feel a bit more comfortable with this at 3 mana to help prevent any OTK shenanigans. But, that's just my personal opinion, and it's probably perfectly fine at 2 mana.
For a dissenting opinion here - I don't think that's all that bad given the draw/holding requirements to pull it off. Put another way: you can do 15face dmg for 10 mana with double Fireball + a Frostbolt - that requires you to draw/hold 3 separate cards vs only 2 here, but is also 3 more dmg so I think the tradeoff is fair.
Very good point. I'm probably biased by my mage hate hah

For some reason quoting your post Xarkkal isn't working, I'll need to get that looked into.
Anyway, currently the system for tokens involves submitting an additional card, which you would submit as a token. Obviously this isn't ideal, as for example this current competition only lets you submit one card.
In the short term, I'll make sure we include space for an additional token card to be submitted (when tokens are allowed by a theme). In the long term, we'll look at coming up with a better system for including tokens - Hero Cards, for example, are particularly obnoxious to submit right now.
You shall not quote me!
I'm excited to see future developments on this system. Already out the gate, this is the best organized card competition on the internet. I know with user feedback, it's only going to get better. You guys did a great job with all of this! Looking forward to all the competitions!

This deck is terrible for Dragoncaster Askaara. 5 games, dead by turn 6 each time. Most games don't even have a single card to play that does anything for her board state.
Is there a way for people to submit tokens with their entries? It would be nice, for example, to be able to see JFK's Corgen token when voting on Plague of Fetching. Just a thought.
heres my custom card ik it doesn't look good considering it was made in photoshop in about 5 minutes i took some inspiration by warlocks corrution mechanic and Chaos Gazer for this card feel free to critique me if the card seem too op anyways have fun

Dragonkin Spellcaster
Scalelord
Everything else seems unplayable in BG's to me, and even some of these are questionable.

Honorable Mentions:
Zilliax (complicated relationship), Mecha'thun (probably getting downvoted for this one), Spider Bomb, The Soularium
Happy to see leaving:
Zilliax (like I said, it's a complicated relationship), Eternium Rover, Myra's Unstable Element, Prismatic Lens, Luna's Pocket Galaxy, Crystology (buff needs to be reverted for the health of wild), the entire Magnetic mechanic!

Also, just want to have one last good laugh about Duskfallen Aviana ever being printed.

Got it! I never ran into [Hearthstone Card (THE… Candles?) Not Found] in my dungeon runs, so triple twinspell was a new idea to me.
Took a few tries, but eventually got it! Thanks!
