  • Jesus f*cking Christ, what are they doing with Zoo? The deck is already pretty nuts with all the token buffs, and hand reload (even though expired Merchant goes away so maybe it slows down just a tad)...but now it gets AoE too?

I'm not sure Zoo should be allowed to completely shove other tempo decks off the board while developing 4/4s and stuff.

  • BAsically limited proactive Thaurissan.

Honestly, just the baseline stats are good enough to put this into most Paladin decks. IF you hit a single spell with it you're already getting more than enough value.

  • This just looks insane for value. You don't even have to play the spells the same turn, you can just keep them around for even bigger combos

  • Holy Nova and Penance are both enough to justify Thalnos, not to mention that they could easily print a card that buffs the damage and healing of Holy spells for Priest.

  • exactly. This means that all this really needs is some minor spell damage support (Thalnos is already here) it's a perfect fit for any slower Priest deck (and perhaps the faster ones too since it's asymmetrical)

  • This is quite good once you get to 5 mana (it works before that too, but it's not ideal obviously) and at 10-mana it's alright if you just happen to topdeck into it.

I think the biggest bonus of this is that once you reach 5-mana you get a pretty big tempo boost if you pair this with your average 3-drop.

It also makes Barak Kodobane look a lot less terrible because at least now you can maybe pull this at turn 7 (or even 10) to maintain a little bit of tempo at least.

  • I'm gonna be real here.

The original Gen 4 games are my absolute favourites in the series.

The remakes, however, look like garbage. The novelty of the 3D gimmick has worn out, so from the looks of it we're just getting 3D remake of the same game, which effectively just loses all the charm the original artstyle had, leaving us with basically just an inferior version.

At the same time, these are remakes of D&P...and not Platinum...which is the actual good game that fixed most of the huge issues that the originals had and given that Gamefreak seems to just not give a single fuck at this point I doubt that they've actually put in the effort to iron out those flaws for the remakes.

Basically, what is even the point of paying for these remakes if I can just play a superior game from a decade back that I already own.

  • Quote From KANSAS

It tutors 3 cards in a class that usually struggles for card draw. Why wouldn't this be played?

because playing a 3/5 that does nothing in a class that is terrible at recovery is a death sentence.

Like, imagine having to play this into Jandice Barov, or an Aldor Thruthseeker + Libram.

This thing just loses you so much tempo while the cards it draws will barely help you stabilize unless you also have Professor Slate in hand.

This is way too slow for Hunter. The Curator days are over, card draw needs to be cheap or tempo oriented or else it just doesn't work for non-control decks.

  • Okay, so it's not absolutely insane in terms of healing, but now it looks like just an okay card for N'zoth Priest (both of them actually)

  • wait what, this has taunt too? Are they nuts.

They better not put any more res stuff into Priest, because this just completels shits all over Khartut

  • Probably one of the best Ranked spells so far.

It's asymmetrical which might be very relevant.

I'm also fairly certain that there will be some HOly Spell damage booster

  • What are you talking about? Arcane Explosion is seeing tons of play in the specific Spell Damage Mage deck that is at least around tier 2.

Priest always needs small AoE because most of it keeps rotating.

Not to mention that there is most likely going to be some Holy synergy that buffs this.

  • that is actually pretty damn massive in terms of recovery. 6 mana is a decent slot for that and if your opponent is playing the burn game and doesn't have silence this just wrecks them completely.

Also comes back from N'zoth for whatever that's worth

  • Obligatory new Secret Tech that makes sure that Secret decks can't just dominate by just spamming Secrets

That'S pretty damn strong for any anti-aggro demon Hunter (and of course Lifesteal OTK remains untouched, because fun is illegal).

The upside is that you can completely shut down an opponent's curve.

THe downside is that if they find a way to buff their board out of reach then you need a backup plan

Either way I think this is consistent enough to just be playable in a slow DH deck to set up those spicy swing turn (Big Demon especially)

Back up plan might be Immolation Aura, a card that already sees play on exactly Lifesteal OTK DHunter. And any reason Lifesteal OTK DHunter has to delay aggro is very good for that deck, inluding delayed effects.

I wanted to write that, but I forgot what the card was called so I just pretended it didn't exist and hoped nobody would notice.

But yeah, Aura will probably also be part of the slow decks if only for this very reason (also because Stealth Rogue is probably sticking around and fuck those guys)

I see that a lot of people here miss the secret power of this card, which is that you can immediately play all cards drawn by Barak if you play it on curve.

which implies that there are cards you'd want to play on turn 6...which there aren't.

As it stands this is just worse than Polkelt, because at least that guy lets me play a Highmane on curve guaranteed

  • Shade was thrown :^)

  • Okay, so having draw in Hunter is usually a good thing, but this is a 5-mana 3/5 that does nothing for tempo.

We've had this card in Un'goro already and it was way too slow.

Granted, we have no idea what kinds of spells we'll get in this expansion but in order to justify this I'm gonna need some good reasons.

Hunter is desperate for card draw....but not that desperate

  • So this is just really damn strong for absolutely no reason.

If Warrior has a good enough win condition then Ooze will be mandatory again unless you want to just give up the tempo game by turn 5.
