  • I think they might do just that.

The main problem about SSS is not the cost or the attack increase, it's just how much hits it provides for the cost. Just by reducing the durability it's going to be much less obnoxious to deal with (at +2 attack the total damage shrinks from 18 to 12 which is much less absurd)

  • Stealth is still pretty busted with the amount of synergy currently available

  • Really hope they also nerf the sword as well. That thing is going to be a pain to design weapon buffs around in the future and I really don't want to have to run double Ooze in every deck just so I don't lose by turn 6.

  • can't wait for Kripp to give great insight via his founded knowledge on the current state of the Standard meta :^)

It all feels very rush, like we've been sitting down here twiddling our thumbs for the last 2 weeks only to find out that the reveals lasts less than a week before the final dump.

Wonder who was that genius in blizz that decided this was a good idea. I mean, they're having that theorycrafting giveaway, but then proceed to give us somewhere around 1 day after the full reveals to submit a list out.

Besides which, what about your own giveaway @Fluxflashor? Since submissions will end on the 18th (that's like day 3 of the reveals), is there any plans to push the date further up now that blizz has revealed their hand?

Pretty sure there is some sort of delay involved. I'm almost certain that the original release date was supposed to be the 23rd, but for reasons unknown it had to be delayed by a week (reasons that may or may not have occured shortly before or after Blizzcon) which is why this all feels rushed (when in reality it's just sort of pushed together instead of spread out evenly)

  • So I guess they're still sticking to the 23rd as the expansion drop?

I assume 19th might be the final reveal stream.

  • I think Kingsbane Rogue is a full on aggro deck now, so I doubt it would use this (although you could justify running one copy as some form of insurance)

I guess tomorrow we'll see un-nerfs of the last three classes and get the Forged news on thursday.

Most likely, even though this would be the first time that reveal season (assuming the expansion drops on the 23rd) last less than two weeks.

The other explanation is that the expansion doesn't actually drop on the 23rd and we've all been bamboozled

  • Oh boy, let's hope that Caverns buff doesn't backfire spectacularly.

  • Oh my, what coincidence, she appears just after Gladiator Valeera leaves the shop :^)

(I'm just joking, obviously they're not gonna put her up while they're still selling a new and argubaly better skin. This is basically just a bone thrown to the less financially fortunate)

  • Well, looks like we're going home empty today as well.

At least we have 2 more days of nerf reverts

  • OOoh boy, even if just for a few days, Hunter will be spicy in Standard. ALl our combo dreams will come true

  • Expectation: Hecarim

  • Despite only coming back to the game at the start of February I'm actually currently set up to reach lvl 50 before the expansion hits (as of today I'm at lvl 43 and I'll get weekly quests two more times, which should theoretically allow me to get to 50 just in time to snag that free hero portrait).

I guess tryharding to reach legend while also leveling up Demon Hunter has its perks

  • yeah, but it included a specific set of hero power synergy cards which made it somewhat unique.

Okay, so I dug up the comments about card draw (https://outof.cards/hearthstone/2745-dean-ayalas-community-qa-8-social-features-future-of-shaman-charge-combos-top-legend-rewards-pre-release). The specific remark by Dean Ayala is:

"We originally pulled back on draw for Shaman but we're putting it back, along with any other classes that were draw restricted.

Draw is something that we'd like all classes to have some options in, while only a few classes excel at having full hands and mass draw cards like Sprint."

I don't read that as "Warrior will get replacements for all their good draw tools." Losing Battle Rage strongly implies that Team 5 is trying to remove Warrior from the list of "full hand/mass draw" classes. And the removal of Shield Block and Shield Slam in favor of Shieldmaiden and Warsong Outrider suggests that Control Warrior is moving away from spell-based armor/removal and towards more minion-based armor/removal. These two factors should weaken Brawl considerably. Not only will it be less likely to show up in your hand (because you have fewer mass draw tools), but you'll be developing a board and less excited about using Brawl to clear the enemy board because it will cost you considerably too.

Honestly, I hope you're right, but we'll see in the next few days I guess.

  • yea I'm gonna need a flowchart for that one. So much for clarity.

  • the problem for even Rogue was always that it was just way too fair compared to all the other hero power decks. It was basically the single well designed Baku/Genn deck because it actually enabled a new playstyle instead of being just a straight up superior version of an already existing tempo deck (well, I guess aside from Odd Mage I guess).

It's just kind of depressing when your biggest claim to fame is "behold, I am guaranteed a weapon at turn 1 that allows me to buff it by a whopping +1 attack on turn 2, or even, dare I dream, PLAY A 3/3."

Meanwhile Odd Paladin has a full board by turn 3 and threatens lethal by 4.

  • Bro, Even Cannon Rogue was my favourite thing during the late days of RUmble (alongside Quest Discolock) and it was the only deck that actually made me want Genn/Baku to stick around.

The pure orgasmic joy of getting a decent board of pirates to live and then prepping out Barrage....my god, those were the days. I'm actually pretty adamant that Rumble was the most fun meta we've ever had, just because of how every class had something really broken they could abuse in just about every deck to even out the playing field.

  • oh absolutely, I'M very much looking forward to this rotation. Like, I've had my doubts before, but seeing how they are pretty determined to remove the absurd amount of burst damage and card generation in the game I am vvery hopeful that this might just shape up to be one of the better Hearthstone metas (not including any balance changes that might be necessary down the line).
