Interesting and powerful cards. Especially excited about a strong tutor card - Sightless Watcher.
This new class seems terrifying on the paper.... I'm all about change, but damn
Inner Demon: Highlander shaman; play Doomhammer with Zephrys the Great follow up next turn. We have a WINNAH.
Sightless Watcher: Its Tracking except its not. That it doesnt draw you a card means its not something you want to rely on. The effect is really unique, and I can see a midrange or control deck play this card. But at the end, dhunters are not weak to draw, so I dont see why play this card when you can simply play a card that draws instead.
Altruis the Outcast: If there was a way to put many tokens into your hand this card would be OP. As it happens, since there's so many powerful cards in dhunter already, this one feels rather weak. Maybe it will find itself into an aggro deck for a board swing. But in my opinion, there's not enough support to do really powerful things with this card.
Nethrandamus: Does this work when this is not in your hand? That's the question because this card is absolutely crazy. Its very nearly a class based Dragonqueen Alexstrasza if you can get the summons to 8 cost and above. And the conditions are not even that hard to meet. Of course, if the upgrade only happens when the card is in your hand then it substantially worsens the card, but even so this card is not something to be ignored for all midrange and control dhunters.
Sightless Watcher sets up your Outcast cards. So you can top deck them and get their effect at the right time. Right when you get all your mana back. Playing this guy on 4 into Skull of Gul'dan on 5 would be a typical play i could see happening.
The real question is whether you can keep this card in your hand for that maybe payout. You cant predict what you get from this card, so the outcast synergy is still just a maybe. If it sees play at all its because its a vanilla 2 drop, and you're running a dhunter deck that can use a 2 drop. Meaning you're most likely to play this on 2, not keep it for the outcast synergy.
Its better to design your deck so its easy for the outcast effect to come out rather than rely on this card to get it for you.
I still like the effect though, since it gives a glimpse of what you will be getting in the next three cards. On the other hand, if all three option suck then this card isn't going to correct that.
I agree you would likely play it for good tempo on 2. Nothing wrong with grabbing a good 3 drop for next turn. Top decking it later though isn't crippling as you can still fill out your turn with decent tempo plays, with a game plan in mind for next turn.
Again, i like it for outcasts as they can tend to be expensive, and if he simply drew the card, you'd be forced to ignore outcast cards in your choices or wait even longer until you have more mana to play everything. This guy doesn't force you to wait.
Unlike other cards, outcast has a certain urgency to play them immediately or risk loosing their effect in the middle of your hand. This guy comes down now, while setting up the outcast play later.
Its kinda like being able to discover a card from your deck for 0 mana. Or reverse overload with a 3/2. It's pretty amazing. And not that big a sacrifice as it's still good tempo for the mana.
Ultimately its up to player skill if they can pick the right card for next turn. Sure Skull sounded good on turn 4, but now there's too much tempo and ill get run over if i play it. Things like that are fun to me. Or I picked skull and my opponent stole it with Mischief Maker. That's less fun =P
Also it picks 3 cards at random and places one on the top. They weren't necessarily your next 3 cards.
Sightless Watcher is my new favorite DH card. The art and effect are both amazing.
Nethrandamus seems like he will wreak havoc on any deck wanting to run tons of outcast cards.
Definitely a card for his own deck and not just a finisher you put in any deck.
That could be Inner Demon. Though it suffers from the same issues.
But the game ending combo potential gives them both one deck at least.
I think the video explains how they're all good for different archetypes which is great to know demon hunters will have other stuff to do.
Even if one because the meta pick.
Lovin' these cards.
Does Demon Hunter get classic cards as well?
Iirc, Demon Hunter will get a Classic set eventually, with some cards being added in future expansions, but that won't be now.
aight, thanks :)
You guys seem to forget about Blade Dance while evaluating Inner Demon.
I mean, it is basically "Destroy three 8/8 minions and still do 8 damage to the face." Edit: for 10 mana.
Considering we got what was supposed to be DH's DoD Legendary Dragon, does this mean we're also getting a breath spell?
Eye Beam, though not explicitly a breath spell, kinda fits the mold well enough imo.
In video there is actually one more card. Soul split - Choose a friendly Demon. Summon copy of it.
It had already been revealed through a different source.
Ok, somehow I missed article about it and was sure it is new card.
Those animations just get better and better. I love it!
Inner demon gives Zephrys a way to kill your opponent if they have 8 life and no taunt on the board, before opponent needed to be at 7 or lower health, or needed to have no minions on the board for avenging wrath. I don't see this card taking a spot in a constructed deck.
Sightless watcher is very good, and i'd say an autoinclude, unless you are playing a big demon deck or something like that. I think the card is very good but not OP, maybe the fact that it will be an autoinclude will be a problem in the future.
Altruis is strong too, especially in a deck with low cost cards that is already good with the outcast mechanic.
Nethrandamus is a card that requires a good number of minion diyng in your side, but DM seems to have a couple of cards that generates rush minions so i don't think it will be that hard to reach a good power. We have to see if those decks will be good, if they will this card will be a powerful finisher, kinda similar to Alexstrsza DQ
Is written on this post that is a basic card
Is it not a basic card?
