If you want a couple of free card packs for idling watching the Hearthstone Masters event this weekend, you're in luck!
- Watch three hours of the stream, earn a Rise of Shadows pack.
- Watch six hours of the stream, earn a second Rise of Shadows pack.
Additional, random drops are also available! If you're lucky enough, you can win a Classic Card Pack by simply watching the stream. Each hour the streams are live, Blizzard is giving away 1500 Classic Packs! With 33 hours of coverage, that's 49,500 Classic Packs!
If you're interested, you'll want to login to your Twitch account, go to settings, and then connect your Battle.net account. Remember that drops are only active during the stream and we're going to have more, wonderfully formatted information on the event closer to it.
- Stream is up on June 14, 15, and 16.
- You can watch from 9 AM - 8 PM PDT.
- For those in the eastern timezone, that's 12 PM - 11 PM EDT.
- CEST folks are looking to watch between 6 PM - 5 AM.
Here's the full post from Blizzard.

Comments
I can't be certain but last time when "watching" = just having the browser on the background, my Twitch status occasionally went from active to inactive (or away or whatever it's called). I fear it might affect the hours counted towards watching it.
Active or Inactive status doesn't affect it (at least it never has in the past). As long as you're on the stream you should be eligible for the drop.
I think it doesn't count then. Some people have claimed, even in this thread, that they have not gotten their packs, which might be because of being idle.
But people, it's actually not that bad to just watch the matches. It sucks a bit if everyone brings the same decks, and because of that, I wish they did this for the Mech-invitational, much better that way and the content is better.
I'm pretty sure it counts. I didn't watch a single minute during the world championships, just had the stream open in another tab and got the pack for watching 4 hours + a pack they handed out randomly.
In the World Championship, the matches went on quite a bit longer than the hours during which the drops were active, so it's also possible that people who tuned in later watched most of their hours outside the time window that counted for the drops.
One of the issues I experienced were more timezone related IMO. The matches were usually in the morning, when I am supposed to be working. Fortunaly managed to watch enough hours though.
They must really want people to watch , but who doesn't like free packs!
I'm trying to withhold excitement since I'm not a fan of this new specialist format.
Nice, They should do this more often.
