Its very powerful at first glance, but also extremely risky. For one thing, since mage has never been too hot on taunts, its not really easy to prevent damage coming from either minions or hero powers. Another problem is that your opponent can actively decide for you when the 3 cards are drawn, so in a sense your hand would need to constantly be waving around 6 to avoid overdrawing. There's just so many layers of decisions but there's no mistaking that this card is perhaps one of the most powerful draw engines for mage, and being a secret its doubly more mind games for the opponent to maneuver in game.
Will certainly see competitive play at some point. Why wouldn't it? Its a 3 mana draw 3. While shaman and hunter draws 1 card at a time and can barely generate cards, mage does both to an almost extreme degree. You'd think there's something going on here.
Preventing damage from minions can be done by nuking or freezing them, no taunts needed. Hero powers are an issue though: even with freeze effects, Hunter and Mage can still damage you. In the case of Mage, you are at least making them use their mana inefficiently, but a lot of Hunter decks are going to be using their hero power on every turn in the late game anyway.
I LOVE SECRET MAGE. I hate playing against it. Time to run Flare if you're a hunter player.
If you're playing Hunter and you're not able to do face damage every turn, you're probably in more trouble than Flare can solve.
Just 1 flare should be fine though I predict secret rogue, secret hunter, and secret mage will all be a thing
Random thought: I think warlock secrets would be cool
Well, I just saw Occult Conjurer after posting, so if you want to prevent that from triggering while still preventing card draw and continuing to do face damage, Flare might be useful.

secret to be used as a stepping stone trigger for other effects since there will plenty of times that this secret wont trigger cause its so easy to get damaged specially with rogue druid DH and Hunter hero power and lots of classes running weapons. u need to freeze board AND face to actually not get hit provided theres no spells going into your face
Obviously insane with Freeze. I can see this aiding a huge Freeze mage reassurance, and maybe eventually leading to the Frost Nova HoF that I believe has been due for a while.
Secret mage might finally become viable again. Not sure if this is good enough to completely replace Aluneth in wild, though.
