2 mana 6/4 is pretty good in stats, but there's a very small chance you'd be able to pull this off in Shaman on turn 1.
I feel like this card will have something in this set that has synergy with it, it's a little clunky on it's own...
Garbage
Oh I can't give a factual evaluation of a card? Nobody in standard will actually play this after theory testing.
Promotes weapon synergy and gives some proactive early game in big shaman, which is an archetype I really hate (because of wild)
Right now seems a card that fits pretty fine with steal rogue xD. Let's see if "enhancement shaman" is going to be a new archetype.
What do you mean enhancement?
its the melee subclass of shaman in wow. Things like rockbiter weapon pull inspo from that spec.
That's it!
I leave after wotlk but on wow a melee shaman was a pure dps (I was top1 on Sartharion 3 drakes :P) that relies on fast hits, windfury and imbued weapons that summons elementals and feral wolves to fight at his side.
Another spec was spell dps that hits in range (lightning, fire damage, etc...) and the third one was a pure healing spec.
As an old wow player I love to see again spells, movements and characters that reminds me back of that years :)
Enhancement shaman archetype support incoming? Or is this going to be dropped instantly like freeze shaman?
I'm all for a new archetype but how in the heck is this shaman-like?
Cause it's another archetype for Shaman. It fits shaman design so well cause it has nothing to do with the rest of the cards :P
It's a nod to the Enhancement Specialisation of Shamans in WoW. Each class can choose a spec that changes their playstyle, and Enhancement is a melee spec that augments their weapon with an element. This is where cards like Rockbiter Weapon and Feral Spirit come from, they're spells specific to the Enhancement spec of the Shaman class.
I mean, it should summon an elemental totem or something not a duelist.
At the very least, Weapon Shaman can't possibly be any worse than Freeze Shaman.
You mean my Moorabi is useless? Noooooo!!!!!!!!
Maybe one day if they actually make good cards for freeze Shaman which I assume will never happen.
even if freeze shaman was good and moorabi was made 4 mana he'd still eb the worst card in the dec
But he's a legendary so he must be good! Almost as good as my Anomalus I got from my Old Gods packs.......
I whould consider this with an "more oldschool" Even Shaman list, which runs Jade claws: turn 2 Jade Claws -> turn 3 get 2x 3/2 for 2 mana.
In theory this sounds viable.
Not sold on this to be honest. Most of the time this would be a 2 mana 3/2, which is a fair card, but there's plenty of similarly costed and stated cards that also perform a tech role. If you want more out of this then you'll have to first equip a weapon, of which there's none currently that curves into this, and nearly all shaman weapons are either too expensive, or play very specific roles, which means you'll probably want to play something else other than this as a follow up.
The only niche this performs is in a big shaman deck, so you can have a small minion for your early game without mucking up your combo. But this is admitably more significant in wild than in standard.
Maybe there would be something else down the line that justify why this card is an epic.
We'll probably get a 1 cost shaman weapon so this spell can work. New archetypes are always interesting. Wonder how it'll work out...
