Dark Pharaoh Tekahn EVIL Recruiter and Diseased Vulture are being my favourite cards at this moment.
Warlock is absolutely coming back to meta
Evil recruiter still seems useful for trading with buffed lackeys. Just trade into a 3/3 and transform it into a full 5/
This is literally just worth even if you hit one lackey for a 6 mana 8/8 with a useful effect. althought i still would like to see one more lackey gen to make this deck really work.
Can fue lakeys be silenced?
Silenced yes, but they most likely won't lose the 4/4 buff. That is, if it works like Quest Rogue did.
It's rather slow-ish and situational card, so I believe that it won't fit Zoolock. It looks more like a midrange, but will Midrange Warlock be strong enough to beat decks like Mech Paladin, Mech Hunter, Control Warrior, Control Shaman, Murlock Shaman or Conjurer Mage? At this point I doubt so.
The thing is, Thief rogue is getting pushed more and more, and they now are able to discover any class card (not including rogue ofc) rather than their opponent's class nowadays, so discovering Dark Pharaoh Tekahn in some sort of lackey/thief rogue isn't entirely unreasonable.
A Neutral Demon. Probably do not see play, but that is inusual.
Is Tekahn more of a fit for a control deck? Lackeys have their use here and there for Control Shaman, so I could see warlock decks trying their own way to utilize them for early and late game.
Seems like warlock has some cards that can go for both play styles. EVIL Recruiter (another Uldum card) seemed to me it could fit in both aggro and control, and perhaps Diseased Vulture, as hero power on turn 6+ would kick in the extra minion.
Maybe I'm just hoping so. Excluding mage's shenanigans (freeze until you conjurer's calling) only warrior and shaman seem to play the slow game well in the current standard meta, and Saviors of Uldum looks like it's pushing sticky minions and murloc floods.
/and count me in on the crowd that would like to see a working, winning dragon deck in THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON. Dragon Shaman is actually fun (and hey, a class not usually one with the dragons), but it's lacking a few cards to be consistent. I might try it with the shaman quest card if I land it.
I like to use the Evil Genius on my Voodoo Dolls in my Control Warlock :
Are you crazy are you out of your mind?!!
That Titanic Lackey is looking pretty small to me
that's what Tekhan is for you silly
@mods: the main page is again showing just one card in the picture for this reveal, when in fact there are three.
Please fix :)
Those images aren't created automatically but by hand so Flux has chosen to only highlight one card instead of all three. I tend to agree with that choice since three gets a bit crowdy. But I do understand that some might want to just scroll the front page thumbnails for quick and easy card reveal updates.
One more neutral or Warlock Lackey generation and we have an amazing new zoo deck! Also the new Lackey seems okay I was afraid they were going to nerf Lackey generation by printing a terrible one.
I still feel like this is a soft nerf to lackeys.
Kinda but maybe not as its a great move to buff your little minions in ur zoo deck
Any lackey addition is a “soft nerf” if you think about it as reducing your odds of getting the exact lackey you need for a specific situation. But I can see this still being very useful to force a trade or two if you miss generating a Kobold lackey you need to clear something off right away.
Tekhan looks great on paper, but realistically, how good is he really. Warlock can currently generate up to 6 lackeys (copy shenanigans not included). Assuming we get another lackey generator it'll probably be 8. Likely, you will play half of those for tempo before you even get to play Tekhan, meaning that you play a mediocre 5-drop to get 4 more 1-mana 4/4s down the line. This also requires you to run Cable Rat, which isn't really a staple in Zoo atm.
Ofc you can maximize Lackey value by including stuff like Glinda or Barista, but at that point, isn't it just memeing? Not to mention Tekhan has anti synergy with EVIL Recruiter, since destryoing a 4/4 to get your 4-mana 8/8 doesn't sound nearly as appealing.
All in all it feels like a win-more card and will probably be dropped from the eventual Zoolock lists.
