If the opponent plays a Cult Neophyte could you theoretically cast the spell as many times as mana allows, or is it based on intrinsic cost?
With names like Tamsin/Cariel Roame, they really feel like they're anagrams for something else.
Well, with Tamsin Roame being so handy, all shadow spells must automatically get a second consideration because now you can cast it as many times as you like in that turn. Something feels wrong here. Either Im misstating the effect, which is to effectively just put the same shadow spell in your hand that cost 0 (which then can be casted again for the same effect), or there's some catch somewhere.
Grimoire of Sacrifice is actually interesting as a deathrattle activator. The deathrattle should actually take place after the spell has concluded, there's no indication that it wont.
The only other interesting card here is Veteran Warmedic, which assuming that librams are holy spells, is absolutely crazy. You can chain 2/2s all day with broom and a 0 mana Libram of Wisdom. Will it be better than Pen Flinger though, that's another question entirely. But its certainly nothing to snuff at.
Cariel Roame, Invigorating Sermon to me is gimmicky at best. Sermon is too expensive at 4 mana, and cariel's health is low enough that its safe to say you'll never see her attacking more than once, so that's basically just a one mana discount. Maybe in a control pally deck she'll find true value, but Im doubtful everywhere else.
Tamsin's effect only triggers on 1 or more cost shadow spell
Thanks, missed out that crucial factor.
So you cant chain the same spells. Oh well, there goes my value dreams.
Cariel Roame might be able to make holy paladin work. throw in some Spirit Healers to give your minions additional health, a couple of holy secrets and you can start getting good value
Eh, I’m not really digging the art of the latest expansion. Usually look out for golden crafts and all of these seem a bit bland. I’m loving the effects though, and that’s more important I guess.
All these cards look good except Soul Rend
The 4-mana Warlock card will never see play. Hellfire is simply a much better and more flexible card at the same cost, and Warlock has tons of other very good removal options including that new 1-mana Warlock card which is excellent.
Tamsin is just pure value, but is there a Shadow spell you need a third copy of? It's not a bad card, but especially with Highlander disappearing, I don't think it ever makes the cut unless there's a combo potential I'm not seeing.
The epic and legendary Paladin cards synergize very well with secrets. Decent cards all around, and I'm sure they will get played with for fun even if they don't end up being competitive.
Fluffy Holy Spell will see play. If you can hit two targets without losing too much tempo, it's worth it. Hit 3 or more on curve and it's a win-condition. Doesn't seem too hard with First Day of School and some other good early game cards.
There are times when Hellfire is unplayable because dealing 3 damage to your face is too costly. Against a super aggro deck, I don't mind burning four or five cards in order to stabilize the board on turn four.
Against a non-aggro deck you just lose by playing that card.
You play it on an empty board to free hand space, alternatively, you play it to lower an 8/8 to (buffed) Drain Soul range. I think there's no way you play Hellfire instead. It's either Soul Rend or neither card.
Interesting, more cards filling in Paladin's contested 4 drop slot. I like both legendaries, but both depend on the quality of their type of cards. I feel like most shadow spells in warlock at the moment don't synerge well with this at the moment. (Imagine having Tamsin Roame survive a turn only to play Twisting Nether to get a 0 mana version ;)
Or if you reduce one of them by 1 mana you could play them together. Emperor in Wild, maybe getting her off of a Dark Portal that is active. OR... perhaps the “best” play of all! Actually using Deck of Chaos* to make her a (1) 3/3!!!
*But really, don’t play that card. Unless you are playing a meme deck. It’s a meme!
yeah, I actually really want to try a deck of chaos deck this expansion though, that swipe demon looks interesting
Interesting to see that both Paladin legendaries are human (Alliance), as Paladin was an only-Alliance class back in vanilla. I guess when we get the Alliance xpac, we will get 2 Horde Shaman legendaries.
I love how a bunch of these cost 4 and then we have Kazakus who rewards us for not having 4 cost cards.
Anyone who plays paladin knows that class has the most competitive 4 slot.
Guess two Roames are sisters?
Yes, it was confirmed by Cora's tweet which has been since deleted.
