As the days pass, October is approaching its end, and with it comes the third challenge of Master Duelist, our Duels deckbuilding competition!
For those who may have missed it, Master Duelist is a Duels-exclusive series which revolves around creative deckbuilding: every time, you'll be asked to create a starting deck with specific restrictions (be them mana cost, keywords, mechanics, etc.) and to get the highest possible score you can hit.
Deathly Hallows
This time, the deck-building requirements consist in creating a starting list containing at least 7 Deathrattle cards. Signature Treasures like Bonecrusher or Drocomurchanicas will count as well!
The challenge will end on October 31st, at 23:59:59 EST, so make sure to submit your score in time!
More information can definitely be found in the challenge's main page (together with some available starting deck, in case you'd like to give the challenge a try), so make sure to check it out!
Challenge's Rewards
Remember, if you'll be able to get a remarkable final score, there will be rewards for you! In fact, everyone who posts proof of a 7+ wins run in the dedicated submission forum thread will be awarded with a different amount of Gold, an in-site currency you'll be able to earn from different activities and that will be used to purchase cosmetics in our in-site shop. In order for your run to count towards the challenge, you'll have to provide an appropriate proof of your feat; otherwise, your result won't count.
Here's a quick breakdown explaining the rewards you'll receive based on your performances:
TOTAL WINS | GOLD EARNED |
Best Result (both Casual and Heroic) | 200 |
12 | 100 |
10-11 | 50 |
8-9 | 20 |
7 | 10 |

If you want to submit your score, follow the instructions in the forum thread.
How is the Challenge Going?
Master Duelist Challenge 3 has been quite a few submissions so far: while some competitors opted for the very reliable Death Games Deathrattle Hunter, there have been a couple of really unique (and quite successful) entries that we intend to highlight - genius deckbuilding at its finest!
We wholeheartedly thank everyone who decided to join us and have a shot at our challenge!
Here are some of the most interesting builds we've seen so far.
Shaveyou's 12 Wins Token Deathrattle Hunter - 12-0 Casual Run
Let's start with the most interesting deck submitted. Everything about this starting list leaves us speechless: shaveyou decided to go for Death Games Deathrattle Hunter, but definitely not the way you think. In fact, The Rat King is the cornerstone of the entire deck, which is filled with token units aimed to resurrect the former as quickly as possible.
Recycling is obviously one of the best Passive Treasures you could possibly get, as it will grant you astounding survivability as, as shaveyou said, "turned nearly every game into a meat grinder".
I mean, this deck features Infested Wolf and fricking Eggnapper. In late 2021.
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Recycling
Second pool - Meek Mastery
BennoFN's 12 Wins Big Paladin - 12-1 Heroic Run
Deathrattle From Golden Light Paladin, but with a Secret package and some rather unusual Legendaries to make things even spicier - Stalagg and Feugen on top of them.
Barrens Trapper, while not being a Deathrattle unit, does help dropping them a lot faster; moreover, Crystal Gem makes your hand a bit lighter, waiting for the big hitters to come down and close the game for you.
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Crystal Gem
Second pool - Disks of Legend
Ferretti's 12 Wins Deathrattle Demon Hunter - 12-2 Heroic Run
Deathrattle Hunter hasn't been very successful in Duels, but we are glad that ferretti was able to bring it all the way to 12 wins in Heroic. The archetype is a conglomerate of good Deathrattles, with Battleground Battlemaster and N'Zoth, the Corruptor on top of it.
Binding Chains as the Signature Treasure is just the icing on the cake.
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Potion of Sparking
Second pool - Mummy Magic
Now that you know everything you need, grab your deck: it's time to D-D-D-D-Duels! Good luck to everyone!

I feel famous, very cool! Can't wait for the next challenge with the rebalanced treasures!
Yep: the new meta is looking really fun to explore!
Thanks for sharing my Deck! Makes me so happy I some how went 12 wins with it! The secret packaged really helped to support me.
The Secret package is definitely underused in this kind of deck.
However, I feel like the upcoming buff to [Hearthstone Card (Grommash’s Armguards) Not Found] will push it out of the meta, as you’ll always want to have Royal Greatsword as the only weapon of your deck
