Blizzard shared this year's BlizzCon 2019 key art on Twitter today and we've got Hearthstone represented through Elise Starseeker!
What are you hoping gets announced at BlizzCon for Hearthstone? Could Elise have something big to do with an upcoming Hearthstone story?
Comments
Interesting that they went with Elise. With her role this expansion, is she becoming the face of Hearthstone? Being a Teacher, it makes sense. She can reveal new information to players and educate them about the game in general.
I'd be happy with Achievements that give out cards, packs, card backs, etc. I know there are achievements coded into the game, because we got them for reaching certain levels.
I'd also like to see some kind of reward to make the replay-ability of the adventure modes more desirable. At the current state, you play it once and you are done. By adding some kind of reward for doing it each time (cards, or dust) it would make doing the mode over again less like a waste of time.
They did this in a Tavern Brawl recently with the element of time. By finishing the brawl within a set time limit rewarded a card, which also helped the replay-ability. But I agree with you, I'd like to see more of this kind of achievement.
Considering there's an expansion every december and Blizzcon every november, I really don't see how there will ever be a Blizzcon without a new expansion announcement, as long as Hearthstone lives.
But, we can always expect some more PC titles moved to mobile, maybe WoW or Starcraft this time! I hope some body will stream the lynch mob, too bad even a virtual ticket is so overpriced I'll never pay to be there.
Man you are implying that will always be 3 expansion in hs as long as he lives, and i don't think and hope that's the case in the future
Well, I have noreason to think otherwise, as since the change a few yers ago it's been pretty consistent, and obviously profitable or it would have been changed.
"how don't see how where will ever ve" implies a lifetime span, and while they problably wont change that next year ( and that's the reason i will play hs always in a casual way from this exp on, and surely not in standard) i am sure that sometimes in the future the will.
The third expansion will be titled "The Rise of Starseeker", in which Elise Starseeker protects the rebellion against the First Order, but in a plot twist, tragically becomes the next Sith Lord.
... waitaminute, that all sounds so familiar.
Change "Rebellion", "First Ordel" and "Sith Lord" for "Lordaeron", "Scourge" and "Lich King" respectively and you've got the exact Arthas lore.
Ofc it will be last expansion, and we already know all 3 expansions this year has link with each other, and ofc Elise is here. But, i think, this can be more, they could say their CG studio about it, and we will have Cinematic about last expansion more than just simple stop motion music clip (who actually good, but more>better)
While I too hope for some cool announcements at BlizzCon regarding new features and game modes, probably we'll just get the announcement of the next expansion set and nothing more. To HS have been added so few during the years that when they've announced how they'll never implement a Tournament mode I felt like the last nail in the coffin was set: the game will just keep rolling on new cards until a complete rework (if it will ever come).
I wouldn’t mind if they announced some cosmetic bonus for 2000 hero wins.
But I’m not getting my hopes up at this point
Well we are definitely getting the announcement of the next xpac. That should be pretty obvious at this point.
I’m hoping for some additional news as well, some more major changes to the game to improve the QoL. Another game mode (tournament), something to improve the economy (the dust to craft ratio is ridiculous) anything really that shows they have been listening to the community and want to continue to improve the game.
they have done great so far this year, and I’m hoping the trend continues with some real changes that make a big difference instead of just continuing the same ol’ new xpac every 4 months
My guess is the single player will end with the cliche of The League of EVIL unleashing something they can’t control. Elise leading the league will have to put said evil back or destroy it.
Bonus prediction: Explorers and EVIL will work together in the last expansion.
I'm voting for a new version of Deathwing as the true final boss for both Leagues working together to defeat that new foe. Is the end of the Year of the Dragon and we have only a few Dragons, the last set of the EVIL arc should be Dragon related and a dragon final boss fits very well the theme.
Interesting theory. Trump's reveal vid for Hack the System briefly references an expansion called 'The Cataclysm'. Probably just bait rather than a reference to a future expansion but, if there was any truth in it, the flavour implied by the name would sort of fit with what you're suggesting.
I didn't know how much I wanted an LoE/LoE team-up until you said that, but I will be very disappointed if that isn't the last theme.
Theory me: We've had a little bit of out of place Pandaria stuff this expansion (Mogu Fleshshaper and Into the Fray). Somehow Rafaam is going to accidentally unleash the Sha and it'll mess up everything, and it's going to take a nine-man pileup to fix it. That would be amazing.
I am sure we will get the next X-pac. I expect there will be lots of dragons. I think the the dragons are going to fighting back.
What I really want are some of quality of life features they have hinted at:
Tournament mode
Better personal stats/history
A random card back mode where you can pick the pool of cards
More deck slots
Other types of play - Perhaps by Season. Or Speed games... Or an XL mode (bigger decks and starting health)... Or....

I think we will release an Old God in this expansion (it is Uldum after all). This will tie in with the upcoming WoW-lore and will create more synergy for Blizzcon (probably re-activating the Dragon Flight.)
I dont see a reason to add more deckslots, 18 is more than enough. They should focus on the game economy en features that will challenge players. For example long weekquest or even quests for a month, even community-quest should be an option. They should also add more win-rewards (cardbacks for each heroes on 1000 wins and an improved hero-portray at 1500 wins, eventually an alternate hero unlocks at 2000 wins ( <3). We will need some rewards to show off against other players.
