In case you missed in in all the United in Stormwind card reveal madness, Gul'dan's Book of Heroes chapter is now available for play and is the penultimate hero to get their adventure.
In addition to the new chapter, Shadowmoon Gul'dan has finally made his way into the shop for $10 USD. Available through July 26, this bundle contains the hero skin and 5 Warlock card packs.
If you want to check out the voicelines of the hero skin, we've put together a preview of exactly that.
Are you picking up the bundle? What did you get in your Warlock pack from the new chapter? Let us know in the comments below!

WTF is this BS on the 2nd encounter! I don't draw any shaman spells to actually win ffs
I really like the Book of Heroes since it allows some of the lore developed in World of Warcraft to be put into Hearthstone, bringing the two universes closer together. Another fringe benefit is that by understanding the flavour behind the classes, custom content becomes better. It's a pet peeve of mine to see people attaching the "evil" stereotype to Death Knight or Demon Hunter custom cards since neither class is actually inherently evil. In fact, most people that become Demon Hunters are actually very noble, who then turn into vigilantes.
Something else I enjoy is that within my friend circle that plays Hearthstone, I'm the only one that is also invested in WoW and its lore. Nobody believed me when I told them that Gul'dan is actually dead, which is why Demon Hunter gets his skull as a spell, and also why he says "alas, poor Warlock". That moment of reveal when they finally realised that not only Gul'dan, but Garrosh and Uther are also canonically dead was the best "I told you so" feeling I've had in a while. Yeah it's petty, but I take pride in my relatively poor knowledge of the WoW canon.
I usually group DH and DK with warlock and rogue as the 'dark' classes. The characters themselves might have good intentions that are completely aligned with societal norms on what is 'good' and 'evil', but these classes are all built on using methods that are generally considered bad.
I think of it a lot like making ethical decisions at a micro vs macro level. Trying to save every individual life (micro) is ethically clean, but might not save as many lives as a macro decision like letting a town die to save a city. Even if the macro approach is mathematically better, it is often still treated as the unethical path because there was a morally questionable choice embedded in there. DH embodies this most closely (stop the Burning Legion at all costs, because everything will die otherwise anyway), but each of the 4 'dark' classes has something similar going on.
I was wondering if outofcards would actually feature this in an article, given the busy schedule and all that.
Guldan's story has got to be one of the best if not straight up the best of the lot. That says alot for a character that was killed off in warcraft 2. Other characters may have longer stories, but only Guldan's feels complete; from his tragic upbringing to his rise and corruption of the horde, and his ultimate downfall caused by his own lust for power.
The actual battle itself was fine. The puzzles were a good break from the previous books, with the difficulty fairly adjusted (I only struggled for 15 minutes with the Fenris puzzle). Final battle was forgettable, but not really suffering in comparison with the other's anyway.
Oh, and this guldan's voice acting is superior to the one we have currently, bizarrely enough.
Agreed. Prior to Legion, Guldan was just a generic cartoon villain being evil for the sake of being evil. Then the Harbingers and Chronicles fleshed out his tragic backstory. I like that there is still an ambiguity as to why he was shunned by his clan. Was it something he did, was it because he has cluster B disorders, or was it gratuitous because he is a cripple? Was Evil Guldan born or made? Likely a mix of both.
The puzzles were a nice change compared to other adventures. Too bad I had to concede the Malfurion one (stuck at Ragnaros) to do this one.
Yeah, I delayed the release of the article because I didn't want it to cut into the fresh reveal schedule. Kinda annoying they started reveals on the same day as a content drop =/
Gotta love the “Well Played” emote from Gul’dan
Is there a secret on the last puzzle where you're creating Death Knights? It was super easy to clear the minions, way too easy, but there was flavor text that talked about boosting the health of the spirit up to 20. I cleared the board thinking I had to hit the requirement and the story advanced, but I was thinking of going back for another playthrough if there was actually something cool to solve.
Just finished replaying it. The answer is no. The last Death Knight puzzle has a very, very easy solution where you simply deal three damage with Shadow Council Necrolyte (Shadowlight Scholar) to the spirit by burning a Soul Fragment and then Soul Rend everything. But the spirit has text in this challenge saying that if it reaches 20 health it becomes one with the fallen soldier. All that means is that it auto-dies at 20 health. So that happened and then I cleared the rest with Soul Rend anyway. A little dissapointing, but I agree with the other super positive assessments that this adventure had great character and content.
I really enjoyed the puzzles.
This coming from someone who couldn't figure out 2 of the Puzzlebox Lab
I haven't done any of these but now that one is being released right before a expansion i will do so now. I really want to pull warlock's questline.
