how do you know how much time is still missing to get the drop?

If I recall correctly, clicking the "drops enabled" link takes you to a page that shows progress. There is such a page in any case.
The drops haven't started yet though.

They are active now. At the top of the chat window you can find your progress.
What's the time zone?
Usually if no time zone is mentioned, it's Pacific (PST/PDT), since that's where Blizzard is located.
Oh that's nice. Would be funny if the streamers are playing every other game mode except mercenaries 😅
Funnily enough that seemed to be true in a number of cases, I've seen so many Battlegrounds and Constructed stalwarts.
