All the new Demon Hunter cards for Voyage to the Sunken City have been revealed and in this article we're going to discuss how they will impact Wild in general and any specific decks they can fit into.
Here is how the cards will be rated:
- 5 stars means a card that can see a lot of play in meta defining and powerful decks
- 4 stars means a card that can see some play in the best decks and a lot of play in slightly less competitive meta decks
- 3 stars means a card that can see some play in less optimal meta decks or is good for some off meta decks
- 2 stars means a card that can see play in any deck, even if it's a very niche or weak archetype
- 1 star means a card that won't see any play at all
Xhilag of the Abyss
Our Wild Rating
Xhilag of the Abyss is too slow for Wild and won't see any meta play. However, Big Demon Demon Hunter is an off-meta deck that might like to play this as it can be cheated out for less than its normal cost with Vanndar, Sigil of Reckoning, and Pit Commander. Will this make Big Demon Demon Hunter meta viable? No, it's a slight boost to the archetype, but the turn you play it, it only deals 4 damage and in Wild you can't rely on it surviving for more than 1 turn against the top decks.
Lady S'theno
Our Wild Rating
Lady S'theno is great for Final Showdown Questline Demon Hunter as it has mana discounts and many cheap spells and will be able to deal a lot of damage in one turn. In addition, Wild has multiple cards that can increase a minion's attack like Abusive Sergeant to increase the damage output. Odd Demon Hunter, arguably the most competitive Wild Demon Hunter deck, probably won't want to play this as it's too slow for the hyper aggro archetype which doesn't play enough cheap spells to activate it consistently enough anyway. It might be worth a try in some slower version but this card isn't good enough to make that better than the aggro one.
Coilskar Commander
Our Wild Rating
Coilskar Commander is too slow to have any impact against most Wild aggro decks anyway - it costs 6. Druid has Spreading Plague but it has plenty of ramp to play it earlier than turn 6. In addition, this is a horrible topdeck and often won't be playable when you draw it for a few turns.
Wayward Sage
Our Wild Rating
Mana cheat is good, however, Wayward Sage doesn't fit into the strongest Demon Hunter decks in Wild. It's even-costed so it doesn't go into Odd, and it has a Battlecry and isn't the best for Drek'Thar Aggro Demon Hunter either. This may be a decent tempo play in other aggressive decks including even a Tempo Reno Demon Hunter.
Azsharan Defector
Our Wild Rating
Azsharan Defector is ok for Deathrattle Demon Hunter just for the body itself which can be cheated out by a Razorfen Beastmaster. It's not worth playing Bone Glaive in the deck just to get the sunken version so this card's reward, while good, doesn't have enough good Dredge support to make use of. In addition, there are other and better 4 cost cards in Wild to use in the deck. Therefore, this probably won't see any Wild play at all, not even in the niche Deathrattle Demon Hunter.
Predation
Our Wild Rating
Predation is really, really bad in Wild which has many better removal options even for decks that play nagas, and we don't think it will see any play. There aren't enough nagas worth playing in Wild to activate this card consistently and without it costing 0 it's horrible.
Multi-Strike
Our Wild Rating
Multi-Strike is a great card for many Demon Hunter decks, including the most competitive ones like Odd and potentially non-Odd Aggro. It allows them to go face while also controlling the board, but in addition it has extra synergy with Dreadprison Glaive to deal even more damage. Furthermore, it might now be worth playing Metamorfin in Odd Demon Hunter which now will have more Fel spells to activate it.
Bone Glaive
Our Wild Rating
An Arcanite Reaper with a small upside is not good enough for Wild. Bone Glaive has a synergy with Azsharan Defector to get the sunken minion, but other than that there are way better cards to put into your decks.
Glaiveshark
Our Wild Rating
Glaiveshark is even so it doesn't fit into Odd Demon Hunter, and it also doesn't go into the common Aggro version with Drek'Thar either. It may be an option in Reno Demon Hunter but on the whole won't see much play.
Abyssal Depths
Our Wild Rating
Abyssal Depths is great for any deck that wants to tutor out any specific cards, and may be good for some combo decks that play few minions (maybe even Il'gynoth Demon Hunter). In addition, it can be used in Big decks to tutor out Vanndar.
Overall Set Score
Sunken City Wild Demon Hunter
We don't think Demon Hunter will benefit too much in Wild from these cards from a competitive standpoint. Multi-Strike is the one that will see a lot of play. The other cards support a variety of less competitive decks from Big Demon to Quest to Deathrattle but aren't powerful enough to boost those archetypes into meta.

Comments
Only archetype DH has outside of Odd would be Fel and OTK. As such, I'll give them a go with the new cards. I did have some success when the reverts went live.
