Depending on where you actually find yourself at in the world, the start of summertime and the climbing temperatures might've already begun testing some of your endurance. Apparently it's all quickly became too much for our dear friend Nozdormu the Eternal, as the early heat must've caused a peculiar malfunction within the Zin-Azshari tavern. As a result, don't expect to see the special bonus XP quest this time around.
Quote From Blizzard
- The team is aware that Nozdormu Day special daily quests are not going out with the June 15 reset. Nozdormu seems to have… lost track of time. We expect him to be back as scheduled next month.
The above note has silently appeared on the Patch 23.4 Known Issues list, and we haven't seen any other separate developer statements besides that. At least there is that official confirmation, in case anyone happened to doubt their eyes upon logging into the game today and thought to double check their calendars. Too bad for us; hopefully Nozdormu gets to enjoy his unexpected vacation.
Who Could Have Ever Seen This Coming
At least this little mishap didn't happen on Nozdormu Quest's first birthday, eh (that's technically taking place next month). Funnily enough, when the special tavern quest for Nozdormu the Eternal first became a tangible thing almost a year ago, we've pondered the wider implications of such a system within the game:
Quote From Out of Cards Trivia Time!
The Hearthstone client doesn't support repeatable quests on a monthly schedule so implementing Nozdormu Day quests uses the regular quest system. Because of this, when you complete the Nozdormu Day quest that was given to you, it can never be completed again… so Blizzard duplicated the quest a dozen times.
If, in the future on Nozdormu Day, the quests don't activate, it is likely because of Blizzard not putting in a fresh round of these quests for us to complete. Game design is truly an art, and it's great to see they could leverage an existing system without new code to get this out quickly.
Looks like somebody might've now become an unofficial prophet. Clearly no proper levers have been pulled on this occasion.
Why is the 15th of Each Month Nozdormu Day?
The 15th of each month is Nozdormu Day because it is a reference to the 15 seconds that each player has to take their turn when Nozdormu the Eternal is present in both decks.
Anyway, Here Are Some Decks
Admittedly, when Blizzard had initially decided to establish Nozdormu Day during April 2021 (somewhat... retroactively), there wasn't even any special in-game quest associated with the occasion to speak of - not until further public demand had made it so. But around here, we were no strangers to celebrating it anyway.
In the honor of that, here are some Nozdormu-themed decks we have already prepared ahead of time - should anyone be curious how they might've compared to various recommendations from the previous month. A lot has happened since: the card buffs and the Mini-Set did have some impact, after all.
Although it has to be said that it would probably be a little more reasonable to take the special dragon out for more suitable replacements - unless you are particularly dedicated to the ways of Nozdormu the Eternal and are hoping against hope to queue into somebody doing the exact same.
On the scale of 1 to 15, how disappointed are you to see the official Nozdormu Quest track record broken not even a full year in? Anyone crazy/dedicated enough to dust off the good ol' Noz anyway?

Damn, received a 900 exp quest and didn't know why until now, and the answer is just Blizzard being Blizzard as always

This site is always prophesying things and nailing them. Keep up the good work!
pity :)
500 reward trashed
Interesting to see that what they've done is essentially duplicate noz's quest multiple times, suggesting that its possible that they think at some point they'll need to remove it, rather than add into the queue for regulars (assuming there's such a thing)
I dont expect pitchforks be raised over such a trivial thing but it does points out how transient these rewards really are in hearthstone. Cynically, we can even speculate that they may be testing the waters with this apparently mishap.
All hail the wise prophets, for they have seen this day coming.
Riot!
Logged in just now and thought I missed out on the quest coz my daily log was full. Glad that wasn't the case but this still sucks regardless. The Noz quest does give substantially more XP like the super ultra rare "Challenge of Friend" quest. Guess we'll just have to exploit Mercenaries a bit more this month.
