The Staff of the 9 Frogs is a 2/9 that reads "After your hero attacks, summon a 1/1 Frog with Taunt. (each frog is bigger than the last)". So it certainly leaves up to the name. Wonder what happens if you re-equip the weapon, to the frogs keep growing?
The other Shaman legendary is a pun on Doc Holiday.
I'm really, REALLY liking the flavor of this set
Elemental synergies are pretty unexciting but Mountain looks super fun in Thunderbringer Big Shaman. Imagine pulling that on 4 or 5 with Ancestor's Call or Muckmorpher.
I have to assume based on the wording that you cannot skip a single turn playing an Elemental if you want Skarr's effect to remain relevant. Some have wondered "will it just pause the scaling?", and it sure doesn't read that way. And then they show a 9-drop Elemental at the same time; how does that help? You need a bunch of cheaper stuff to make sure you can always squeeze one in.
Maybe Synthesize would be better as a Shaman card.
I had this thought when I first saw Azerite Giant, and looking at Skarr has further reinforced the thought that I've probably been misinterpreting this wrong the whole time. There's no way that they'd make both of these cards this bad, right? I thought playing an Elemental on 8 turns in a row would be worthy of a Mecha'thun/DK Uther/Priest Questline card, not a vanilla 0 mana 8/8.
My thought is that maybe "each turn in a row you've played an Elemental" counts your highest streak rather than your current streak. Played an Elemental on turns 3, 4, and 5, but had to miss 6? Well, Skarr on 7 will still deal 4 damage minimum for the rest of the game instead of just being reset entirely. Interpreting it this way from the wording is plausible, but it's definitely not obvious if it's true. But I don't really know how else to view it because the cards would just seem unfathomably atrocious if it worked exactly as it reads.
From my interpretation, I think it counts every sequential Elemental played throughout the game, not just each one before this card. Otherwise the peak of the card is basically a Star Aligner, and that's just not good enough. I think the team knows better than to print cards that crappy.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but that just seems like a generous interpretation of the text.
So what exactly does it mean when the reveal happens by Blizzard Email? I've never gotten a reveal through there
It's our default description when they forget to include a URL on the official reveal schedule since typically, that's what happens when a URL is left blank. They haven't done a great job this reveal season with that schedule, so there have been a few "Blizzard Email" squares. This one ended up being for 4Gamer, a Japanese website.
For clarity, I've updated the last remaining "Blizzard Email" square to Unknown. We should probably change that as the no URL going forward since it's less annoying.
