If you've been playing the new Twist season, which feels a bit like the removed Duels mode only monetized now, you've likely come across the nuisance that is Arfus. Blizzard is sending over a tactical team to give him a slight health nerf and bringing along with them plenty more hero health changes to keep things in order.
We've also got word on the hacked decks that was allowing players to build their own decks in Twist by modifying the Hearthstone client. This is a great lesson in server authorization and that developers should never trust what a client tells them. Any player who was caught modifying their client to hack decks has been banned. Get wrecked.
Additionally, Blizzard has commented that we won't be seeing dust refunds for the legendary cards as Twist decks get modified. How do you feel about this? Read on for the full update notes from Blizzard.
Quote From GnomeSayin Hacked Decks Update
Over the weekend, some players used unauthorized software to run illegal decks in Twist, resulting in instant win combos. We’re currently rolling out a hotfix patch to stop these cheats. After this update is out, we’ll continue to monitor the situation and make further bans as needed.Hero Health Updates
Alongside the hotfix update, we’ll also be rolling out our first Twist Hero Health Updates.Arfus: 35 → 25
Al’Akir the Windlord: 35 → 30
The Lich King: 35 → 30
Zul’jin: 35 → 30
Forest Warden Omu: 35 → 30
C’Thun: 35 → 45
Dr. Boom: 45 → 50
King Krush: 35 → 40
Arch-Villain Rafaam: 35 → 40
Guff Runetotem: 35 → 40
N’Zoth, the Corruptor: 35 → 40As a reminder, we intend to do Hero Health adjustments like these as needed, likely about once a week, and larger-scale adjustments (like Hero Powers, Passives, and decklists) in our normal balance patch windows. After looking at the impact of each round of changes, we’ll have a clearer idea of what and when our next updates will be.
Please note: due to the nature of weekly balance updates, we won’t be expanding dust refunds to the cards corresponding to Hero unlocks for changes to that Hero’s Health, Passive, Hero Power, or decklist for the Whizbang’s Heroes Twist seasons.

The one thing I really don’t like as a player whose favorite card is [Hearthstone Card (C’thun) Not Found], his deck is really bad! Too slow and not able to respond to multiple wide boards unless you somehow maintain a wide board yourself.
That and the C’thun added to your hand is skipped over by the cosmetics check. So… Blizzard is selling Signature C’Thun in a bundle under the Twist tab in their shop, yet players who buy it won’t get to see a Signature C’Thun in their starting hand ever… I got mine a while back from CoT packs, so I’m good! But if anyone buys that bundle wanting to use the sig version in this Twist format… I hope they yell at the devs for the error.
Your greed (or stupidity) is showing, Blizzard!
I don't think I've seen anyone play Omu, and yet there it is on the nerf list.
I've been having fun in Twist too, and I'm glad they're already making adjustments. What a shock that Excavating on almost every turn would be too strong!
I won my one game so far with Omu. It's a no-minions deck, and what makes Twist so good is that each deck has cards from multiple classes. Omu is super strong with no-minion cards from Mage, Demon Hunter, Druid, etc. Plus you can build wide boards by summoning tons of treants. Good stuff!
You mean excavating with almost every card played? LOL
Managed to beat Arfus with Illidan only coz Arfus ran out of cards in the late game. Jace was clutch in the end as well. I also don't own Arfus but if I wanted to play more excavate, I'd just play standard so not really bothered. Doubt the hero health adjustments will do any good. It's the passive, hero power and deck list that are the problem. If the passive is changed to play 1 of each rune to excavate a treasure, it'd be much more balanced. For now, only aggro decks like Leeroy stand a chance of bursting him down before he excavates any good legendary treasures.
Also I find the interaction with The Azerite Snake against Xyrella completely invalidates Xyrella's passive which is absolute BS. Let's hope once Arfrus can excavate the Paladin and Shaman legendary treasure, the chance of getting the snake is will substantially less.
As for dust refunds, I'm ok with it. Dust refunds should only be given to players if the actual card itself is changed and seeing that Twist will only be active for 2 months, there's also no reason to buy any of the Twist bundles in the shop. It's just not worth it
Twist has been super fun indeed! I've played as every hero at least once now (except Arfus, the ONLY one I don't have, of course!). I'd say close to half of my matches were against Arfus, and I don't thinkI beat him even once. I'm glad he's being toned down a bit, but I wonder if the health nerf will be sufficient. The ability to Excavate a billion times is too good. I guess we'll see!
I haven't played a lot of it yet, but what I've seen of this new season has been super fun (ignoring the hackers and Arfus being OP). Definitely my favorite Twist iteration so far!
I'll also admit that I'm much tempted by the Diamond Patches offer in the shop. As an aggro enjoyer who has dusted all his unused cards, I have no chance at all to get this one the regular way.
