  • Always an evolve fan, but the weapon seems incredibly strong.

It seems like a better version of Thrall, Deathseer

  • The weapon is strong, but dwarfed by the cost.  The minion shows promise, but you need others on the board to really capitalize on it.  All in all, unless control Shaman will be coming up in the meta after the rotation, these seem a little lackluster to me.

  • Evolve shammy getting more support feels a tad uninspired

  • The cost of the weapon is what makes it balanced, few can hold on to Desert Hare long enough and not die before the combo can be assembled, earliest at turn 6, at which point most classes can already deal with three 4 drops.

As for bogstrok clacker, its a 3 mana card, which means to get the best out of it would first require sticking not one but two minions. Probably not too impossible to have 1, but 2 minions?

So before we start having cold sweats, its not a turn 4 guaranteed nightmare. And the days of turn 4 al-akir or grommash is long in the past.

  • Honestly probably one of the more balanced Evolve cards. Bogstrok is strong, sure, but he requires at least two minions on the board (preferably ones that aren't just 1-drops), so he's simple to play around.

Same goes for Boggspine. You're spending 5-mana for a 4/2 weapon. If you don't have a board at that point then you basically did nothing for a turn (or wasted a weapon charge). It's also countered by weapon removal if you just set it up for your next turn.

Sure, Desert Hare might come back, but realistically speaking, what's the worst that could happen? 2-4 drops on turn 6 with Bogstrok?

The absolute dream would ofc be turn 5 Boggspine into turn 6 double Hare, but that's not only slow but also very unlikely.

Mogu Fleshshaper was already nerfed so it's not like it's suddenly going to return and ruin your day (unless there's somehow 9 minions on the board by turn 3 or 5).

MCT has also left the building, so Quest Shaman, if it even manages to return will nowhere be near as strong, so no worrying about that.

Galakrond Shaman is also probably never making a return unless they buff it again.

Overall Shaman has got NOTHING right now, and this doesn't seem powerful enough to make them tier 1 again all of a sudden.

    • The Pirate minion that re-equips a destroyed weapon is pretty sick with this, actually.

turns a 4 mana minion into a 5 mana with a weapon charge (that's IF you don't have other minions on the board).

If nothing else that weapon looks fun

      • that's a fair point I didn't think about that actually.

But again, that's a pretty specific combo that only comes online at most turn 7, which is usually when powerful stuff starts to happen anyways.

I'm actually looking forward to playing this now and I still don't believe it will get out of hand...at least not in comparison to other stuff we'll be getting.

  • Soo shaman + evolve stuff has generally been strong, just look at the Doom in the tomb event where Evolve shaman dominated the meta. And now we get a weapon that does exactly the same as Evolve but 2 times, allowing you to Desert Hare turn 3, [Hearthstone Card (Boggspine Knuckles[Hearthstone Card (turn 4 to evolve the Desert Hares, and then play something turn 5 to evolve again. (And if the random 4 drops evolved from Desert Hare stay alive, then you get a bunch of 5 drops.)

Also Bogstrok Clacker is pretty good, if it's going to be a more control meta (please blizzard not more aggrostone) because control decks will leave less minions alive.

    • yeah except noone is going to let you just play Desert Hare on 3 and not just remove the 3 1/1s

  • My first thought when I saw them:

sry couldn't find better video clip

    • I feel you man. I hate evolve mechanic. I think everyone who played while they re-introduced 1-mana Evolve into Standard can understand why.

First, it can get "little" oppressive.. And secondly - it's constant dice rolling. You can't predict it, you can't plan for it and, probably most important - you can't play around it.

So yes - Evolve can be fun if you play it, but it's not fun to play against, because opponent can highroll so much, that you instantly lose (and feel hopeless).

  • Is there a reveal schedule?  I dont see one on the website this time.

  • CRAAAAB PEOPLE CRAAAAB PEOPLE TASTE LIKE CRAB TALK LIKE PEOPLE CRAAAAB PEOPLE CRAAAAB PEOPLE

  • It is said, that if you listen closely, you can hear Master of Evolution crying all the way from Wild.

  • oh these look like fun cards

  • Desert Hare is back!
