Swaguar's Post-Nerf, Turn 8 Mecha'thun Warlock
- Mecha'thun Warlock
- Wild
- Ranked
This is a guide for Post-Bloodbloom Nerf Mecha'thun Warlock. The deck is capable of winning by turn 8, or even turn 7 if you have The Coin. Bloodbloom is not required for this combo.
Objective:
Draw, draw, draw. Draw as fast as you possibly can. You must cycle through your entire deck before you can play your combo. In addition to your deck being empty, the combo requires these cards:
- Mecha'thun
- Kael'thas Sunstrider
- Dollmaster Dorian
- Cataclysm
- Plot Twist (one copy)
- One copy of any cheap spell. These include: Mortal Coil, Plague of Flames, Unstable Felbolt, The Soularium, Defile, or your second Plot Twist. You can have as many of these in your hand as you want, but only one is needed.
Once you have all of these and your deck is empty, play these cards in this order:
- Your cheap spell.
- Dollmaster Dorian
- Plot Twist
- Cataclysm
Dorian and Plot Twist will pull out a copy of Mecha'thun and Kael'thas, and since Cataclysm will be the third spell you've cast this turn it will cost 0.
Here's a demonstration of the combo in action:

Mulligan Guide:
Against Control/Combo: Hard Mulligan for Hemet, Jungle Hunter and one Plot Twist. Playing Hemet on turn 6 increases your chances of winning significantly.
Against Aggro: Keep Hemet and Plot Twist, but keep some removal as well, this includes Plague of Flames, Unstable Felbolt, Defile and Dark Skies. Unstable Felbolt is particularly good against Demon Hunter, Secret Mage and Discard Warlock, as it can remove most of their early game minions. It can also reliably pop your Runic Egg, Mistress of Mixtures and Bloodmage Thalnos. Keep one or two removal cards, then toss the rest to look for Hemet and Plot Twist.

Update: As of April 24, 2020 I have a 77% Win Rate over 120 games. All of these games took place at between Legend Ranks 3000-1500.

I got really angry that they nerfed Bloodbloom making impossible to Mecha'thun with warlock, after also making the [Hearthstone Card (mogul cultist) Not Found] impossible to pull.
I was trying the deck and didn't got much luck, until I traded one of the eggs by Emperor Thaurissan.
Just my 2cents on this, hope it is useful.
Any large-scale data vs. QM?
I saw the Jack series, 3-1 to QM... but all the games seemed especially close and one was lost because of a lack of 1-cost spell.
I need to craft Hemet... so I am hesitant to sink the dust... since QM is still a bloody tyrant.
Not yet. It's definitely winnable though, and you can easily hit Legend with it. My feeling is it's going to be similar to Reno Priest where it has a bad matchup vs QM but good matchups vs pretty much everything else.
Difference being this and Reno Priest is that the Reno Priest matchup is freelo unless they Rat perfectly, the Secret Mage matchup is worse, and the games are way less grindy.
Crafted the Hemet and this deck is lit. Reminds me of the time when it was viable in standard. Only lost my first game so far because I Hemet'd before I had a PT in hand. Haha. Won't make that mistake again.
It is really surprising to me how consistent a turn 8 lethal setup is.
Definitely have to give this a shot
This seems solid enough, but a lot more set up than before. But, that is the way of the nerf
Honestly this setup is better (and kinda easier to pull off imo) because you don't need to stick a thaurasan (and hemet goes a long way to get you combo on curve, in this version)
