Murlocs. They're small. They're cheap. They're destructive. Murlocs are menaces in a well- crafted deck, and this one is no exception. Prepare for a lot of wins and a lot of fun when using this deck.

Mulligan

This murloc deck relies on multiple spawns and quick buffs to carry you to victory. Almost all of your murlocs are usable in the mulligan, but a few stand out more than most.

  • Sludge Slurper. Sludge Slurper is a cheap minion who can give you great bonuses through lackeys. His Overload is no problem due to the cheap cost of this deck's cards.
  • Underbelly Angler. This is your most prized possession when playing this deck. Keep him safe and you have endless minions throughout the game.
  • Murloc Tidecaller. This little guy can get real big, real fast. Very useful when played turn one. This little guy can slide under the radar until it is too late for the opponent.
  • Bluegill Warrior. This murloc is good for getting early damage in, clearing out unfriendly minions, or simply acting as a bluff to help buff your Murloc Tidecaller.

How It Works

The deck can be played multiple ways due to the compounding effects of murlocs, but I have found two win conditions to be the most successful. The first and easiest way to win the game is to use Underbelly Angler to fill your hand, while you constantly beat on the enemy with your murlocs and their added effects. Either through sheer number or through buffs from such cards as Bloodlust, Coldlight Seer, and Murloc Warleader, you will always be able to put up constant damage. Your second win option is through keeping a Murloc Tidecaller safe and using it to constantly hit your opponent. It is honestly surprising how many players hit other murlocs before this one. The deck comes with a few cards that help you protect your murlocs and provide additional support. Rain of Toads and Bloodlust are both expensive spells that help provide a little extra defense or offense depending on your need. Storm Chaser and Likkim help play into these cards as well by giving you additional support. While your murlocs are your prime focus, these additional cards give you a "card up your sleeve" in case of emergency.

Common Problems

This deck runs very similarly to a tempo deck, so the main problems you'll run into are decks that will slow down your gameplay. Mages with freeze spells or any heroes playing with taunts pose a strong resistance to this deck. Murlocs can't be wasted on killing taunts or losing a turn to freezes. Their low health makes them die quickly when delayed or thrown on taunt minions. Decks with large wipes like Flamestrike or Holy Nova don't pose as much of a threat because Murlocs are cheap and easy to replenish. Even using spells like Soul of the Murloc helps to counter wipe spells.
