How to pilot this deck
What mad mixture of cards is this?!? Shan'do Wildclaw, Vectus, and King Krush in a deathrattle beast package? Houndmaster in 2020? I didn't have high hopes for it when we slapped it together, but it performed much better than expected!
The idea of the deck is to mulligan for a nice curve, drawing through the deck and dumping a few deathrattle minions to generate value. As long as you've only played 3 deathrattles by the time you cast Nine Lives, you can control which one you get back (I recommend Zixor, Apex Predator, but the others work in a pinch). The value from Vectus is quite good, unless one of the Whelps hits the Augmented Porcupine deathrattle, but the other synergies with Augmented Porcupine work well enough that we kept it in the deck.
If you've drawn Shan-do early enough, there are plenty of beasts to buff, but an extra Zixor, Teacher's Pet, or Mok'Nathal Lion is always nice. Sadly, King Krush rarely sticks on board, but he often was the one to chomp off our opponent's face to close the game, so no worries there.
If you've been looking for an unusual beast or deathrattle Hunter, you might try this out. We were pleasantly surprised by it. If you'd like to see some gameplay highlights with it, check out our video at https://youtu.be/XmJkNDbh09Q. Have fun experimenting and have an awesome day!
