Patron Stays Dead, Long Live E.T.C.!
- OTK Warrior
- Wild
- Ranked
While looking at the possibilities of Patron Warrior with the change to Warsong Commander and the nerf revert to Charge, I realized that Patron Warrior was more dead than I had ever thought. Even if the deck had a 2-mana 3/2 Fiery War Axe and the original text of Warsong Commander, Patron Warrior would be a more difficult deck to make work than E.T.C. without any changes to the game. It's a much cheaper line that doesn't need Emperor Thaurissan, its cards are far more flexible than Patron's, and it requires about the same amount of cards needed for the combo, not including Thaurissan.
Even if Patron cards were fully reverted to their old variants, it would still be less strong, more expensive, less flexible, slower, and less consistent. Long live the God of Metal!
