INTRODUCTION
Welcome! I'm Esparanta, a passionate Wild player who loves to explore the limits of Highlander decks. This time, we will try to shatter a firework record to see if we can seal the fate of your opponent's hope.
(Oh baby, it's a triple... fireworks!)
GAMEPLAN
Wording games aside, there are a variety of different strategies you can carry out to finish your opponent off...
- First is Yogg-Sarons. Generate lots of spells with cards such as The Sunwell, Cheesemonger, 1-Mana spells and Queen's Tidestone of Golganneth. You can try to cycle said spells with Educated Elekk and try again with Witching Hour to feed both Yoggs. Then, unleash their potential, preferably with Brann to cast 60 spells with Yogg-Saron, Hope's End.
- Second is C'thun. Finding all four pieces will be piece of cake thanks to generous amount of card draws. These four pieces also act as control tools, which is something Druid class lacks of. You can try searching for combo pieces with Aquatic Form if they are at the bottom of your deck or Moonlit Guidance to find another piece or get another copy of C'thun. Finally, you can draw your C'thun via Capture Coldtooth Mine, with a 33.3% chance of getting him to burst out 30 damage or 60 damage with Brann.
- Third is Astalor Bloodsworn. It's a well-gifted card a Druid player can dream of: You can blast your opponent's face with Astalor, the Flamebringer and protect yourself with Astalor, the Protector. You can replay them thanks to Barista Lynchen/Zola the Gorgon/Baleful Banker/Body Wrapper. Other trump cards can be also repeated thanks to aforementioned cards. It won't be an issue since you will have 20-Mana thanks to Wildheart Guff anyways.
(C'Thun loves fiery fireworks too!)
(Murloc Shaman couldn't stand against The Scourge!)
(A hectic battle against Pirate Warrior!)
TIPS AND TRICKS
Here are my insights you can guide this deck even better...
- You can go infinite with this deck to be never fatigued out. Play Elise the Enlightened and then Brann with Zola/Barista to have an endless access of whichever finisher you may like to have. One of them is Body Wrapper. Minions were carefully chosen in this deck to get perfect outcomes from her and you will never run out of cards. Same can be done with Baleful Banker but you need to target your invaluable cards such as Astalor Bloodsworn.
- Although you can go infinite mentioned above, only do this tactic if you feel like you are facing Mill or heavy-Control decks. Whenever you find a finisher such as Brann+Astalor, go for it to seal the game. Never limit yourself, 20-Mana can do more than you could have asked from Wildheart Guff.
- Archmage Vargoth and Solar Eclipse are iconic duo to proc a spell twice to get benefits from...
- Nature Studies to get two spells and reduce the cost of next spell you will cast by two.
- Other 1-Mana spells to get extras.
- Moonlit Guidance to have another copy of your powerhouses.
(30 games with 63% win-rate. Started from Gold to Platinum.)
CARD SUGGESTIONS
If you have read it this far, looks like you might be also interested in card alternatives as it is quite expensive to build this deck up...
- Barista Lynchen: If you don't care about infinity or value much, you can kick her out for disruption such as Blademaster Okani and Theotar, the Mad Duke. Umbral Geist can be also looked into as cheaper alternative.
- Zephrys the Great: A staple for Highlander decks for all 11 classes. If you can't craft him, Armor Vendor can help you survive against Burn/Aggro decks. You may want to also consider ramp cards such as Wild Growth.
- Queen Azshara: If you feel like getting value is too much, perhaps you can eat minions with Mutanus the Devourer or heal up with Mistress of Mixtures.
- Flobbidinous Floop: You can repeat high value cards with him. However, if you can't craft him, Sketchy Stranger will do it just fine. Scale of Onyxia or Flipper Friends can contest the board in your favor as better alternative.
- Archmage Vargoth: I know he was given free during Rise of Shadows expansion. Right now, he can be only crafted. So, if you don't have dust for him, Dirty Rat is alright to disrupt combo decks.
- Elise the Enlightened: If you feel like you are facing more of Aggro decks such as Pirate Warriors or Pirate Rogues, infinite value won't be a necessity. In this case, Poison Seeds will come here to rescue you.
These are all I can think of as better alternatives. Let me know in comments if you have something better in mind.
CONCLUSION
That's all for this deck. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be more than happy to answer them. Have fun in Wild format and be safe!
