Tempo Evenlock

This is a deck that I've been trying out lately. Its a different twist of Evenlock that has fallen out of the meta. Reasons for that is that it gets obliterated by Odd Rogue Secret Mage, while getting highrolled by Sniplock and gets a really hard time vs shamans and of course the one or 2 big priests out there.

Well the solution here is to make it more board based deck, swarming the board. defile and hell fire does little to handbuff pally secret mage sniplock etc.

This way you get a board presence early without sacrificing much in terms of hand size so you can still play your early Mountain Giant. doubling your board size can be huge with stuff like Diseased Vulture, theres double Spellbreaker and even a Riftcleaver. there should be enough taunts to stall out aggro players while u still have Defile to reset the board. hellfire is out since it doesnt help much plus you tend to have some low health minions as well that can make the trades vs other small aggro boards.

the questionable card ive found to be Lich King. i did used Sylvanas Windrunner to combo with EVIL Genius and make Handbuff pally and Big Priest cry but there are so few big priests that silence and riftcleaver should do the job. But feel free to swap Lich King for Sylvannas.

ppl get caught by surprise as they dont expect an even lock. try it out and see for yourself. Nerubian Egg does wonders vs aggro boards specially if you need a 2  health minion to combo with defile. and it counters Explosive Runes by mage.

Im bold enough to say this can be a mid tier 2 deck. if you like classic handlock and dont like losing more than 50% then this deck is for you

That's a creative spin on Evenlock! Do you think Abyssal Summoner could fit in this Deck?

      Thanks, i appreciate it.

regarding ur question, I have no idea. reason why is because its very good if u get it with 8/8 taunt on turn 6, its supposed to be efficient vs aggro, however vs aggro decks we starting putting our cards on the board faster so that we contest it while we search for our defiles. so in that scenario you're spending 6 mana for like a 4/4 taunt and a 2/2.

needs testing like all new cards of course

thanks. my main problem with evenlock was facing big priest (before the nerf) and now it works pretty fine if you run Sylvanas Windrunner, as i've had, cause of how easily you can proc it. sadly its a dead card in most matchups, tho against reno warlock you really need this card as well as against handbuff pally. Problem is i face very few renolocks and big priests. handbuff paladin usually deal their dmg way too soon, so spellbreakers are the way to go  and snipsnap lock combos way too soon for sylvanas to be relevant.

i guess it depends on who u face the most.

IMO it works with Big Priest (mostly) even without sylvanas. As you have a higher draw you are more able to draw what you want than BP. Great work btw! Fun deck to pilot and it's not even a meme :D

Thanks, nice to know its working out for other too. Funny thing is that i created it thinking that a mix between handlock and aggro would result in nothing good. it was just supposed to be kinda of a meme, but after i tried it it was very consistent at having an early board while having a big hand size in order to synergize with our power plays of turn 3 or 4 giants. dropping the twilight drake and the faceless taunts that even lock used actually proved to be useful as it was week to silence effects.

of course much will change with the new expansion, but until then have been having fun with this deck. cheers

Sadly, Evenlock stands no chances against Secret Mage, unless Reno.

Very true. and if you like me, hate facing Secret Mages cause of how they ignore board states and just go face with burn then you are gonna have a bad time.

even with an early board threat its useless cause of how flame ward destroys everything. u cant tap u cant play stuff. u dont beat secret mage. the only times i did it was cause they never pulled flame ward. and or had a bad opening  and i managed to get giants early on.
